PostMon Jul 10, 2006 4:51 pm    Tax Revenues Up... Budget Deficit Down

Sean Hannity read some of this on his radio show last hour and I did a Google search for the piece, written by the NY Times and in its Sunday edition, and found it on a website entitled "Blogs for Bush". Here's the start of the piece and you can finish reading it from that link.

The New York Times wrote:
Surprising Jump in Tax Revenues Is Curbing Deficit

An unexpectedly steep rise in tax revenues from corporations and the wealthy is driving down the budget deficit this year, even though spending has climbed sharply because of the war in Iraq and the cost of hurricane relief.

Surprised? I'm not. Not one bit. But this is just more proof--with the New York Times actually admitting it--that the Bush tax cuts are working, despite the propoganda and nay-saying of the left.

The best way to get tax dollars out of Americans is to loosen the amount they owe. We need to face the facts, the less we owe, the less we CHEAT.

This is why we can afford to spend more, as a government. Bush's fiscal policy is ingenious.

I hope you're joking. Yes, tax cuts work, and yes, Reaganomics is ingenius, but Bush's fiscal policy? He's a fiscal socialist. The only fiscal conservatism he has is the supply-side economics policy. But, as we see now, even that successful policy isn't enough to curb the deficit. We need a flat tax and less government spending. Those two things are the key to a successful economy and a lower deficit.
His two main failures are illegal immigration and spending. It'd take a heck of a lot of convincing to persuade me to call Bush's fiscal policy "ingeniuos." As a matter of fact, I can't believe I'm saying "Bush," "fiscal," and "ingenious" in the same sentence.

What we really need to do is end corporate wellfare and make them pay what they owe. Small businesses are forced to pay all their taxes, while big ones (who can hire lobbyists and buy legislators) get loopholes, exemptions, cutbacks, kickbacks, and grants.

For instance, GE receives several million EVERY YEAR from the Feds, ostensibly to "research alternative energy". GE needs a handout? P-lease.

Taxes are the cost of civilization.

How is our health care plan looking? Our Social Security? Or school systems?

Where exactly is the money for this war coming from?

The answer to the last question may be available to you, as the government may be putting every detail of where government spending is directed on the internet.

To the others, yes, taxes are necessary, but high taxes are not. Low taxes should be what the federal government institutes. Health care should not be government run, social security should be more open to personalized accounts, and the education system is and should be up to, for the most part, the state and local governments, not the federal government.
Want more government revenues? Give us a flat tax of 15% of all money above the first 40,000, which should be tax-free. Lower taxes have been proven to increase government revenues substantially, and that is the way to go.

Btw, Fox news has an article on Bush's reaction to these developments.
