Well i redemption Pt II Picard mentions that guinen came onboard a year after tasha yar died. and that was near the end of season one. And i defianately remember guinen in the season 2 episode "Dauphin" Just picard and her were flirting with each other trying to show wesley how it's done

Whoopi really is a talented actress... A lot of times a comedian can never have a role where they are taken seriously, but she has done it extremely well. I love her.

Whoopi Goldberg came aboard during the first episode of the second season. So indeed, her first episode would be "The Child".

The producers even made Ten Forward especially for her character Guinan. They were so surprised she wanted to be a part of Star Trek they first thought it was a joke

I like Guinan too! She was an interesting character. She was the one everyone came to for advice. Like The doctor on Voyager. I read somewhere that she wanted to have a part on the show because she's a huge Star Trek fan.
