Intresting idea. I think that the composition could do a little more for the mood you're aiming for. There's kind of a halo thing going on around the hull which is bugging me. Maybe if you did a dramatic angle from either the bow or the stern and had the fog strategicly obscuring more of the ship, with the lights reflecting more into the fog.

The details on the ship however are absolutly fantastic!

I would have to agree with TM on this one. The details of the ship are very nice...and the planet and the star are well positioned, in my opinion...

But yes, maybe a more dramatic angle on the ship...One thing I notice about alot of the people who make these types of pictures, are "afraid" to use dramatic and weird angles...Personally I love weird angles and dramatic point of views...but at the same time I very well see why they're afraid to do such a thing. Because the picture still has to be a good one. You could have a dramatic angle on something, but it looks bad with the rest of the pic...I dunno. I know what I'm thinking, but can't put it into words...

But that's also why on Trek we don't see too many dramatic angles of the ships...unfortunately. I wish they would have taken more "chances" with those angles...

Thanks for your comments guys, I'll have a play around with it later today and see what I can come up with.
The halo effect around the hull is kind of an indication of where the ship is heading by pushing the nebula gas around it... was an experiment though, not sure if it'll be present in another version.

I see what you're going for.

Maybe try and add a litle more motion around it, like waves on a bow. I'd check a referance picture about how to place the shadows and such.

I'd love to see another version. It has a lot of potential
