Ya know, this REALLY irks me. Yeah, sure I'll admit there are 'vilations' in there, but guess what? more times then not? It's not a CANON violation people are complaining about (Such as T'Pol being in Starfleet. Show me an ep or movie where it said Spock was the first one, According to MA, there is NONE)

The Borg: Yeah, sure they probably shouldn't have done this, I said right from the start "It's in the 2150's a borg ep would make no sense" But here it almost does fit into canon.

One: It wasn't an offcial contact, and the term 'borg' was never stated.
Two: At the end of the ep, they send a transmission to the delta quadrant. This would take about 200 years to reach. It goes inline with the TNG episode where Federation/Starfleet and Romulan Outposts are mysteriously disapearing from the neutral Zone in the 2360's (Which we learn in Q Who and Best of Both worlds was indeed, the BORG!)
Three: Some call it a 'ruin' because of Q Who, but VOY showed that a Ship of humans followed the borg in the 2350s or so [not to mention, wouldn't the El-Aurians have horror stories about what happend to thier planet?])

That rant was just on the BORG part, I dunno if I should continue because frankly not many would respond if they did at all let alone the fact that someone MIGHT read it.

I think Magenta said it best:
"WHO cares about the time line!I liked watching Enterprise despite its flaws!"

To bad the flaws is all people would see. The cast was surperb IMO, only ONE other series impressed me on this level. DS9.

Yeah, but some of the violations are simply too big to ignore. For example, first contact with Starfleet and the Klingons. In the episode "First Contact", Picard CLEARLY says that first contact between the Federation and the Klingons was BAD. Which actually led to the Prime Directive or part of it at least. This was now undone by ENT. So what happened? Are we just supposed to assume that Picard failed history class? The guy who loves ancient stuff? The archeologist? I don't think so. Even Memory Alpha is confused about it.

How about cloak? The TOS crew were supposedly shocked at the sight of a cloak, but in ENT, they saw the Rommies cloak. Hell, even the Suliban had it. That was just dumb to show that.

Same thing with the Ferengi. While they didn't violate anything, there was no real reason to show them. It was the producers' way of acting like children with fire. "Haha! Look daddy! I'm near the fire, but not touching it like you told me." "Get away from the fire..." "Nope. You said, dont TOUCH it, but not get near it." Its just irritating. The Ferengi itself isn't a BIG deal, but they did that with several other species.

I agree that some stuff people complain about is not important, but the bad outweighs the good. The list of continuity violations in ENT is long. Too long for me, which is why im open to the idea that ENT maybe an alternate timeline.

To be fair, the other shows have continuity issues. I mean have you seen Trills on TNG and compared them to the ones on DS9? The thing is though-those shows did not have major violations every other episode.

I don't mind the Borg thing actually. With First Contact(the movie), that plot makes sense.

One: It wasn't an offcial contact, and the term 'borg' was never stated.

I always figured the El-Aurians simply didn't want to talk about it. TNG pretty much went with that theory.

As for VOY, they proved that the writers had no idea what to do with the Borg.

I'll respond and read it.

Thats the only thing that angers me. Such a great cast and wasted.

ST: ENT completely contradicts OS plots- no visual communication in 22nd Century!- books; (Final Frontier), Trek canon- Starfleet was chartered AFTER the Romulan war- so, yeah. But its a great series, so you watch it for entertainment than serious trekkin'...

Err... the only visual communications that I can think of, is with the Romulans, they said they didnt have visual conact with THEM in the 22nd century, not in entirity. And What about books? And no, they never said it was chartered AFTER the Romulan war, not canon wise anyways, I think you meant the FEDERATION.

Yes it is very possible that could of happened! But wouldnt picard have heard of the encounter in the history logs?????Looks like poaching from the other series for ideas! They clearly showed that picards crew/timeline were the 'first' to encounter them. There were no previous 'logs' to document their existance!
But it is just a TV show isnt it!!!

Actually, VOY ruined it way before ENT. According to them, it was not the ENT-D crew that discovered the Borg...

Yes but seven's parents went to the beta quandrant chasing the borg and I think the idea was they got assimilated before they could trasmit their data or the data was intercepted in subspace. So if starfleet never got Seven's parents data then the encounter with the Enterprise D would have been the first known contact. As far as the Borg in the year 2152 you can make an arguement about the logs surving into the 24th century after all the augments were never mentioned when Kirk found Khan. The Ferengi Mauraders were never mentioned when Picard Encountered them on the Stargazer. No mention of Dr flox's work with the Klingon's in 2154. Its safe to explain all these off as just bad 22nd century record keeping after all when Kirk encountered Cochrane reformed to look younger by the companion there was no record of him leaving Earth.

Timeline paradoxes will give you a bad headache. Its better to just overlook the flaws and be thankful we still have a few series to watch.
