Beverly C Crusher, MD is a widow and mother of Wesley S Crusher, whose
father (Jack) was killed while serving under Picard. She was born October
13, 2334 (Paul and Isabel Howard) in Copernicus City, Luna. She also lived
on Aveda Three as a child ("The Arsenal of Freedom") (incorrectly spelled
"Arvedda" in the novel "Children of Hamlin") where her grandmother lived.
She attended SFA from 2349-2355 ("Conundrum"). She was head of Starfleet
Medical for one year. (Aside: Cheryl "Gates" McFadden started going by
her middle name when she stopped doing B movies). She resides in deck 8,
room 2133.

Between the woman hard to say because I don't care much for Crusher and I haven't seen much of Pulaski to judge her.
But I would choose....

There is so much more depth to the Crusher character and I truly like her much better than Pulaski. Crusher is my favorite character overall I would have to say.

I voted Dr. Crusher! I think she was the best doctor. Pulaski wasn't bad, I just liked Crusher's character better. I think if they had both on the series, it would have made it more interesting. To see more of Pulaski developed.

I liked Pulaski better because I always thought Crusher was just a little too sappy. Her best scene was in Generations when the Klingon women are talking about how repulsive human females are. That was so funny because I always thought se just smiled too sweetly about everything.

I only read the first and last pages here, but egad, were there some rude remarks about Pulaski, mostly about her age, which at the time may have been late forties or fifty. Thanks guys. Lucky for you you're never going to age, I guess, huh?
Crusher, to me, always seemed bland and fairly uninterested in being there. She didn't seem like the sort of person to dig into a scientific problem and push her brains and creativity to get at an answer, or get her hands dirty. She seemed too "wonderful" to do anything as messy as slicing open a human body to operate. I was SO relieved at the start of season two, when Pulaski was just one of many new exciting changes they were making.
I can overlook the brief early period where Pulaski aped McCoy a bit. It didn't last. I can forgive her disrespect for Data and taunting, because why do we have to LIKE a character personally, for her to be good dramatically? I could buy that someone like her could have a blind spot for artificial, non-organic beings she can't treat or physically understand. And she got over it. She gets along great with Data later.
Pulaski had a great Bohemian streak. She had all the enthusiasm for science and life that Crusher could never muster up in a million years. Remember when she insisted on following the Klingon tea ceremony, including the poison? She got caught up in competition, gambling, the Holmes program... Crusher just sleepwalked through crises by comparison.
I've always loved Diana Muldaur. She used to make any show she was on spring to life, in the 60s and 70s. And I love it when middle-aged actors are involved, instead of just Hollywood models.

I voted for beverly because she is a more patient person and easy going with patients, and because beverly and picard are very good friends, also picard thinks the world of wesley and knew his father well.
It just worked out better with beverly on the ship as doctor for many reasons.

DR. Crusher seems more at ease around the Captain and was a More Active with the Crew not hovering around sickbay all the time like mcoy did not always in sickbay and revolved around it.

Pulaski ruined some good TNG for me. She's annoying, ugly, and I hate all the slagging off of poor Data (my fave exc. for Picard and Ro) Crusher had her dull moments, but i'd rather see one ep with her in it than a thousand with that complete cow!

Crusher is the better of the two, IMO. Ironically, by the end of one of the first few episodes, Crusher was origionally going to take off, leaving Picard to care for her son.

Interesting topic.
I prefer Crusher to Pulaski.
Does anyone know the "real life" reason Gates McFadden took a break from teh show requiring a another doctor for the time? Im guessing a pregnancy or other such familial situation but I honestly have no idea

Crusher. Yet, it's not that I don't like Pulaski; I like her, only, I like Crusher more.
Some said that she was the female counterpart of Bones. I don't think so. I'm a huge fan of doctor McCoy, and his character was completely different from Crusher's: Bones was impulsive, ironic, sometimes rude. Crusher was always gentle, creative, very quiet. Besides, she was a real lady, elegant as far as any aspect of her life went.

Crusher.
I get creeped out every time Pulaski comes onto the screen. True, she was a smarter doctor, but she was a yucky person.
