PostSat Jun 24, 2006 1:16 am    I wanted to love Voyager

Seriously, I wanted to love Voyager more than any other tv show ever made. I wanted it to be brilliant, thought-provoking, action-packed and adventurous. I wanted brilliant story arcs and dramatic character development. I wanted a desperate crew marooned light years from home, a whole quadrant of the galaxy to conquer and a desperate struggle to remain alive through the long journey ahead.

That's what I wanted. What did I get?

I got Neelix cooking Tallaxian omelettes.

I got Harry Kim's woeful acting with all the charm and personality of a used prophylactic.

I got Commander 'Dead Weight' Chakotay banging on about his father's spirit and pissing around with bits of rock because he's entirely redundant and devoid of charisma.

And I had to wait until season 4 to see a cute piece of Borg ass.

I still love Voyager.

But I want to love it more. And I just can't.

I used to love Voyager.

I did that for three seasons.

Then the best thing was taken out.

But I still love it.

I don't know why.

Hey is this the "We hate VOY" fan club? Cause I took a wrong turn and went in the other door and found myself in the J/C club. SCARY. If this is the right one, I will have you all know that I am in fact the president of this club.

As for this topic, I made one that is VERY similiar to it. All the missed oppurtunities of VOY. Its almost the same thing. I wanted to like VOY, but grew sick of all the missed oppurtunities...

I think we all know that you hate Voyager Founder

But I like the show regardless what other people may think of it. It's their own opinions which I don't mind.

I liked it up until season 7. Everyone already know my reason behind it and no need of repeating it.

I think voyager is great, but i think one character in it is so boring, and that character is yep, 7 of 9. If you don't like voyager then fine, as Leo Wyatt said its our own opinions that count.

I'm sorry buddy, but Star Trek: Voyager itself as a series was boring, not Seven of Nine. I never hated Voyager and will get round to getting it on DVD, but it's always been inconsistantly written and soapy candy floss.

I loved Voyager....I felt that it was brilliant and action-packed. Borg, Hirogen, Devore, Kazon....Species 8472. Not action-packed enough for you ? Dreadfully sorry.

The show wasn't mean to provide its audience with a 'cute piece of ***' as you so crudely put it.

I didn't care much for Neelix, but he brought a lively character to the series. We had romance, action, a fiery redheaded Captain, and an unforgettable journey with Voyager......it will always be my favorite series.

Sure, the others were all great (except ENT, imo), and yes the show had its flaws.....but none of them were perfect.

Hey! If you're President, what am I???

Anyways...I wanted to like VOY, as well. However...Like Founder said, VOY missed out on so many opportunites.

Omg, why is everyone complaining about Voyager... It had some good episodes, so if you don't like the other episodes... DON'T WATCH EM THEN.

I agree with you Admiral Daniel... If you don't like Voyager , don't watch it and quit complaining on how you don't like it. I know this is a discussion forum and everyone has a right to an opinion, which I don't mind cause opinions count. But, it does makes since if you don't like Voyager then don't watch it or bash it in this Voyager forum. Most of us all know some of you despise Voyager and hate Janeway. No need in repeating it over and over again. That's just my opinion. Don't get mad or hate me for it.

I am not angel either cause i catch myself posting in a forum I don't like but I catch myself. I like Voyager. But, I wasn't too fond of season 6 and 7. So, I didn't watch em again. Only seasons 1-5 I do watch.

Most of Voyager was sub-par, with perhaps Season Four being the most consistant. True there was a lot of junk in Season Six and Seven, but then again there was too much garbage in the rest of the seasons outside Season Four as well.
