Cardinal urges abortion rethink

The head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales has reopened the abortion debate by urging the government to change the law.

Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor has called on ministers to lower the 24-week abortion limit at a private meeting at the Department of Health.

He wants a joint committee of both houses of parliament to review the 1967 Abortion Act.

Personally i think this is good news, i think it should be lowered to 10 weeks, then further lowered over time

(As I said in the WMD topic, I have a few minutes of online time...)

Abortion ban, period, with some exceptions. I'm overjoyed that the Cardinal is doing this, at last opening up the abortion debate in England.

(I've got to go now. It was great to get a minute to post. Later all!)
