My friends, this is probably the last post I'll be making for three weeks or so (until the 10th), though it may not be (and I may get to stop by later this week if I have the opportunity), so yeah. See you when I get back.

I didn't even realize Japan had troops in there. So my take is that it's their country, their perogative. If they want to pull out of a war, fine they can pull out, their choice.

Besides, it's only 600 troops. Not exactly going to make a big difference.

Yes, it's their perrogative, I understand. I understand sovereignty, but that doesn't make it right.
And yes, 600 troops does make a difference. Ask any Iraqi if 600 people there to help them makes a difference or not and I guarantee you they'll say the same thing.

It's ok I think, if they want to pull out their troops. We still have troops over there, and some people are a bit sick of this whole Iraq war.

JDF Forces were in Iraq for medical reasons. They set up medical tents & facilities for Iraqi Civilians, Troops, & Coalition Forces. Once there job was done it was time to leave. They just finished that job right now.

Japan had a timetable. When Iraq was good enough to have the proper medical facilities it needed for Troops it was time to leave. As of right now Iraq has enough medical facilities from other coalition forces that Japan is not really needed at the moment.

Agreed. Japan was kind enough to offer some troops, mostly for medical reasons; they did their job, and I am thankful for what they contributed, not spiteful that they consider their part finished. Japan is still a strong moral ally. After all, Japan doesn't have a full military due to treaties we have with them that go back to WWII, and at this time, I think if I were Japan, i'd me more concerned with North Korea than with Iraq.
