Kes was the weakest, that is why Harry was there up until season 7 and Kes was not.

Harry was actually a lot more interesting than some of the "main" characters I'd say...

Kes was not a weak character. She had a lot more potential than Harry and was more convincing in the episodes she featured than Harry was in his episodes.

Harry did have some potential but it was never used. He was most like an over-aged Wesley Crusher, the constant "young ensign Kim". In the books he's a lot better but the other characters are great in the books too.

As for the decision to kick out Kes, it was sheer stupidity from TIIC.

Kes personified the spirit of Star Trek with her will to learn and explore. That spirit was gone when she was kicked out and was replaced by looks and effects.

Obviously Kes was the weaker of the two characters because she was booted off instead of Harry. Those were the two up for debate, and they WERE gonna get rid of Harry instead of Kes, but then finally decided on Kes. So it's not like she was abused or anything. And it's not like she was "less-liked."

Amen! TIIC are always right. They are "gods" and they are always right, no matter how stupid their decisions might be. We must obey and bow!

In that case, C/7 must have been a blessing too because TIIC wanted it. They are always right, you know.

No, but he comes close. Neelix or the doctor are the most boring.

The Doctor?!

How could you say the Doctor was one of the most boring! He was one of the best characters on the show! He developed more than anyone, other than perhaps Seven of Nine. He was the funniest, too.

I forgot about his bedside manner. But I hate the episodes that just focus on him... I'll put him above Neelix and Kes then. I completely forgot about her....

So, worst:

Neelix
Kes
Doctor

I thought that the Doctor was actually one of the best characters in the entire show, and the least boring of them all. He actually needed to earn the trust and respect that he got and when he made a mistake it hurt that with his peers more than it would a flesh and blood crewman and took slightly longer to rebuild.

The funniest episode was a Doctor episode, "Tinker, Tennor, Doctor, Spy."

One of the best episodes in the show, I can't remember which it was, but it was a doctor episode where he literally broke down because he found out why the Captain was erasing his memory banks, because he saved Harry over some random crewman when they both had the exact some thing with the exact same time to live, with only enough time to save one. The confliction and internal struggle was great.

Another great episode was "Renaissance Man", which was a Doctor episode that I found quite good. The Captain was kidnapped and the Doctor was secretly trying to save her without telling the rest of the crew.

"Author, Author" with the holographic rights, while a rip off of "Measure of a Man" was still yet another great Doctor episode, showing just how he felt being a hologram amongst people and how he felt he wasn't receiving equal treatment.

He was a really interesting character with a lot of witty come-backs and played by undoubtedly the best actor in that entire series, Robert Picardo.

None of the Voyager characters were weak. The weak spot were the producers and writers.

I do agree with on that one. The writers and producers screwed up a perfectly good show. Especially in season 7. I know you will know why? You already know why. C/7 lol Harry needed a girlfriend , poor man... he had it for Seven of Nine. Harry was a little weak character but that's was the writers fought. Bad scripts

That's right! You preach it...you sarcastic know it all... Just because YOU think that their decisions are bad and stupid doesn't mean everybody agrees with you...it's been proven in other topics and the person I am quoting below.

But you are right, C/7 was stupid and should never have been...but WE MUST LIVE WITH IT!

The Doctor?! BORING?! LOL...you're kidding...right? Haha...well, I have to disagree with him being boring...He was quite energetic...his bedside manner tolerable, then got great...and had some funny episodes...and some not so funny, but great stories...like Season 5, "Latent Image." (The one where he has memory problems...) And Season 6, "Tinker, Tenor, Doctor, Spy," and Season 7 "Renaissance Man."

Good character...

The Doctor and Seven of Nine saved the show. To say they were the weakest is just ridiculous.

Kes definitly was. Harry Kim was actually pretty cool. He had some good episodes.

Harry needs a g/f? What are you people talking about?

Libby-On earth
Seven of Nine-Kind of...
One of the Delaney twins-For a lil while..
Holodeck girl-Um...on the holodeck(in fact, I think he liked two different holodeck girls. One in the summer resort program and one in Fair Haven)
Alien chick-The one that gave him a disease

He got more tail than most ST fans combined...

Haha...^^^ So true...

But ya, he did have some good episodes! I didn't mind him...He had potential that the writers didn't explore as much as they could have...but it still turned out alright...I really liked "Nightingale." It was a good "Harry Kim" episode.

The Doctor and Seven Of Nine didn't "save the show". Voyager didn't need any saving. It managed pretty good as it was.

The Doctor was one of the better characters in the show. A bit too human perhaps but very good.

Kes was definitely one of the best characters in the show.

Harry may have been the weakest but he was still rather good. He was definitely better than all the characters of "Enterprise" and better than most of the DS9 characters.

Then live with it! Enjoy every moment of C/7 and be grateful for that "gift" they gave you.

Surrender is not an option.

Um...it did need saving. It was failing during season III. Thus, they got rid of Kes and brought in Seven who rejuvinated the series.

Why? For writing that I find Harry better than some DS9 characters? I guess we are both a bit touchy when it comes to our favorite characters, aren't we?

No because you make a personal and biased remark, with no proof or backup and pass it off as fact.

Hhhmm....wasn't that what you hated people who didn't like Kes for? Ironic...

I probably have said this before, but I can never forgive her acting in Scorpion. The whole telepathic visions thing. Ugh. That was the worst acting I have ever seen. It nearly ruined the whole episode for me. Honestly, when she had her visions I had to stop myself from laughing and explain to my family that the acting wasnt always so tacky.

Well, as I already said, Harry Kim was not the weakest. The person they got rid of was. If he was the weakest, why not get rid of him? People say Kim was underused, but no one explains how. He was just the timid, gullible character and behind larger then life characters like the Doctor and Seven of Nine, it is hard to be...seen. Kes was the weakest one. Can anyone here honestly remember what Kes centered episode was good? I can't. Well...that isn't right. There was one episode she was good in. The one that she left. Figures that her character was utilised properly when they were giving her a send off. Fury was a good one too. I don't think anyone has done a main character coming back as a bad guy thing. Unless you count Sela on TNG...which isn't the same thing. But with Harry Kim? We do remember episodes with him. Nightengale being the mose popular. We all remember the episode where Harry was THIS close to uh...being with Seven of Nine. We remember his speech about how "...the destination that is important, but the journey." We remember the episode where he was suddenly back on Earth, never having left on VOY. Soem good stuff. Harry most certainly was not the weakest. Kes was. Which is why they got rid of her. I will say that towards the end, everyone else other than Seven, Janeway, and the EMH were not as important anymore. But that is because people found those three the most interesting. Something similiar happened with TOS. It was always the "big three". Kirk, Spock, and McCoy. TNG had a good balance until the last few movies. Then it was all Picard and Data. ENT utilised MOST of it's crew, except for Hoshi and Mayweather. DS9 was the only show that utilised everyone. It had a problem for all of them and a conclusion. Even the minor characters were taken care of on that show for God sakes. People saw a lack of Harry Kim and saw him as the weakest. He may not have been used FULLY, but neither was Tom Paris, Chakotay, or Tuvok.
