Risa, Quarters

Ziona took a step back from him and looked at him, feeling foolish still standing there in her evening gown.

"Yes... and it seems bit safer on the station if you ask me." She whispered. "I miss home." She spoke, as if an afterthought.

-Risa, Quarters-

Ian slowly nodded his head in agreement about her sentiment. It was strange, because when he first started out, he never considered DSG home. But now? It most certainly was their home.

"Yeah," He said to her, "Lets go..."

He looked at the Risian, who was still standing there dumbfounded.

"You know," She said, "If you all wanted to act out adventure fantasys, we have TONS of holodecks."

Ian rolled his eyes and responded, "We'll need transportation back to Deep Space Guardian and we're taking him."

He motioned towards the body of the alien. The Risian bowed her head, walking out.

"I'll get a shuttle prepared." She said, then left.

-DSG, OPS-

Jones thought about the question for a moment. He was the strategic operations officer onboard and did assign where ships docked, how many could, etc. There was temporary room onboard.

"You may," He replied, "Until captain Xavier returns."

"Understood," The governor said.

The image was replaced with the wormhole.

"How are we ever going to explain this to the captain?" He thought to himself.

Risa, Quarters

Ziona paused a moment before turning and exiting the quarters and heading out into the corridor where she stopped, staring at nothing in particular. This alien had been ranting about bearing some savior or sorts, or rather, a destroyer in the aliens opinion. She sucked in a breath and shook her head. The alien must have had her confused with someone else... either that or the alien was simply insane. She turned around and walked back into the room, looking at Ian, a quizzical look on her face.

"I can't help but wonder what it was he was ranting about, Ian."

-Risa, Quarters-

Ian didn't understand what the alien was going on and on about either. He didn't care too. The man was obviously insane, but defeated.

"I'm just glad it's over." He told her.

He began making his way towards the shuttlebay, not even bothering to go back to the quarters to get his things. There would be Risians that could send them back for them.

Risa, Quarters

Ziona followed Ian in silence, her head bent down slightly and her hands clasped in front of her. Something in her mind told her that the alien may have been insane, but that something else would follow. She wasn't sure... she couldn't sense or feel or predict the future but she just had a feeling. A sigh escaped her lips as she arrived at the shuttlebay and climbed aboard the shuttle bound for Deep Space Guardian.

There, she promptly fell asleep in her seat, her mind settling into an unconcious blackness with no dreams or thoughts.

~ Ops, Deep Space Guardian ~

Blake nodded to the governor before the screen cut out and was replaced by the picture of the wormhole. He sighed for a moment, staring at it's awkward beauty before spinning around quickly and glaring at Ensign Taylor.

"That is the second time you have failed to follow Starfleet protocol," Blake said in an obviously irritated tone of voice, "I was not out of line in the slightest. So before you start branding with with your false accusations, perhaps you should learn that as your superior officer you are to address me by my rank and surname, which happens to be Robitaille. Blake is my first name, which I only respond to to friends or family. Next time I fully expect that you address myself as Commander Robitaille. And while I'm explaining since simple protocols to someone who is apparently well-versed in such matters I should also explain manners to you; manners, which include not interupting me while I am talking to a governor via the viewscreen."

He sighed, turned away and sat down in the commanding chair. It was a long day, one that he was not looking forward to reporting about to the Captain, although he was quite sure T'Sa would be doing for him given the circumstances...

-DSG, Transport-

Ian watched as Ziona slept virtually the entire trip back. The poor woman was exausted from the day's activity. He hadn't bothered her, not wanting to wake her. It took a while, but the transport finally made it to the station. He idly stared out the view port, bored out of his mind. The familiar sight of the station greeted him, giving him a sense of much desired calm. His calm turned into surprise when he saw a green wormole opened next to his home. The transport moved to dock with the station, ordering everyone to prepare to disembark. Ian rose from his seat and requested for Ziona to be beamed to her quarters. He simply didn't have the heart to wake her. As for the prisoner, he ordered him to be beamed to the brig in coordination with security. Ian walked out, not having any bags to collect, having left them on Risa...

-DSG, OPS-

Jones sat at his console, smirking at the security officer that disrespected Blake. She was certainly not too bright by the looks of it. Why would anyone do that? Not to mention, she will be working under Blake in the security division...

"Mr. Robitaille," Someone said from near the turbolift, "How is DSG? Good? How are you? Can I get you a Raktijino? Oh by the way? Why is there a wormhole next to DSG!?"

Jones was taken by surprise at the voice of the captain. The man was not supposed to return for days...

~ Security Office, Deep Space Guardian ~

Dagenais was sitting peacefully at his desk writing one of his security reports when Ensigns Surek, a Vulcan, and J'Brek, a Bolian came in to see him.

"Lieutenant Dagenais, sir!" J'Brek started, "There has been an emergency beam to the brig from a Risian transport. What it is, I'm not sure."

Dagenais was slightly surprised. A transport to the brig? From a Risian ship? Firstly, normally they would request security to come and claim the prisoner, and secondly Risa wasn't known for its crimes.

"That's odd..." Dagenais proclaimed, "Let's go take a look, shall we, gentlemen?"

With that Dagenais, J'Brek, and Surek all made their way to the brig only to see a rather disgusting looking alien behind the power of a forcefield.

"Wow... What'd he do? Someone flush all the alcohol out of the system and scream when the realized just how hiddeous he was? If I were the security that showed up and saw that I'd arrest him, too..."

~ Ops, Deep Space Guardian ~

Blake sighed once more as he turned to see Captain Xavier show up several days early from his vacation. Blake stood up and approached the Captain.

"You know what? After today, a drink doesn't sound all that bad, Captain..." Blake said to the man, "The wormhole appeared out of nowhere, it seems. Malon ships from the Delta quadrant appeared with ships filled with theta radiation, wanting to dispose of it. The situation was dealt with. The wormhole will be destabilized once they have all left the quadrant."

Ian stared at the viewscreen for a few moments and shook his head. The Malon? Who? He sighed, not really liking the audiance stare at him. He was still in his civilian clothing, having not bothered to change.

"My office, now, commander." He ordered.

He turned and walked inside, followed by Blake. Once the doors shut, Ian spoke, while still standing behind his desk.

"Look," He said, "I have no idea what is going on. A wormhole pops open. Some alien species....you made a deal with?"

He took a seat, exausted from the Risian mess.

"Also," He said, "While I was docking, I saw MANY smaller worker and transport vessels. They weren't ours. Who docked here with that many worker and civilian class vessels?"

~ Captain's Ready Room, Deep Space Guardian ~

Blake walked up to the Captain's desk and stood there with his hands clasped behind his back. The Captain did not really look like he had received much, if any, relaxation on his vacation to Risa.

"The Malons are a species from the Delta quadrant. The USS Voyager made contact with them on several occassions. Their technology is much simpler in that they cannot break down the anti-matter waste, theta radiation. The use disposal ships to remove it from their planet," Blake explained to the Captain, "Unexpectedly a wormhole was formed and they obviously saw a rather nice opportunity to dump the waste far from their home. They emerged from the wormhole and were set to unload it on Elerra Prime since the wormhole was about to destabilize. In order to protect the planet I offered to use the station's power to keep the wormhole open while they dumped their garbage at another location."

Blake stopped for a moment to let the Captain take that in before moving on to the issue of the Governor and his colonizers. Blake wished to avoid the issue of where he told them to dump the gas for he figured it would add more stress to an already tired man.

"As for the worker ships, a large convoy of ships led by a governor arrived by Starfleet's permission to colonize Elerra Prime. I denied them the access and told them to wait in the docking bay until you returned," Blake said rather confident in his decision, "After all, I am not up to date on your agreement you hatched with the Titan. I did not want the civilians to be slaughtered by the angry natives."

-DSG, Captain's Office-

Ian took the information in, thinking about what Blake had gone through. What the station had gone through.

"That was good thinking on both counts commander," He said, "I'll have to discover what happened with the Titan and the Zalbogians. If Starfleet wants to colonize the planet, then I won't tell them no on the account of a deal that never went through. Last I heard, Fito was well and alive. Good work."

He was about to dismiss Blake when something suddenly hit him.

"Oh," He said, "By the way, where did you tell the Malon to unload the theta radiation?"

~ Captain's Ready Room, Deep Space Guardian ~

Blake let off a single chuckling sound as he smirked and shook his head at the Captain's inquiry. He had wished to avoid the question but it seemed the Captain brought it upon him anyways. There was no sense lying about it either, since Captain T'Sa would obviously tell Captain Xavier all about it in private.

"Captain, I saw an opportunity... An opportunity I was unable to pass up as a man who wishes to see the Federation survive this deadly war," Blake said solumnly, "I sent them to both Cardassian and Nautolian space, sir."

Blake sighed, knowing that the Captain would either be rather happy with the decision or overly upset. Blake placed his latinum on the latter.

"It was too good of a stroke of luck..."

Ian looked at Blake in surprise, disturbed by what he had just said. He was sure Blake knew that the radiation was lethal if exposed to large amounts.

"What?" He asked, generally bothered.

He shook his head, not really beleiving that Blake had done something as monumental as this.

"Did Starfleet approve this?" He asked.

~ Captain's Ready Room, Deep Space Guardian ~

Blake stared at the Captain, stone-face, with his hands still behind his back. He remained in eye contact with the Captain, not wanting to seem uncomfortable with his decision in the matter.

"They did not, Sir," Blake replied, "It was a decision made entirely by my own split second judgement..."

Blake trailed off for a moment and finally broke eye contact, looking at the ground and running his hands through his hair deshelved hair before looking back at the Captain.

"The things I saw many of the horrible things Fito did... the massacre, the destruction... It was as good a chance as any to place a damper on his empirical reign," Blake said, seeming slightly disturbed, "I watched the man as he removed the limbs of a young child in glee! I could not bare for that to happen anymore. I was given a chance... this one chance to do something monumental, to place a monkey wrench, if you will, in his plans."

Blake looked around the room once more. This topic was apparently one of great importance to him, as it was to all of those in Starfleet. It was a matter of their survival as not only a power, but as a race of free peoples.

"This is a war, Captain. War is like chess. One must carefully see what advantages they have over the enemy and make the best possible move he may to take out the King. I made my move, and if a couple of pawns must die so I can get to the King... then so be it."

-DSG, Captain's Office-

Ian stared at Blake, but it was almost as if he wasn't looking at him. He was looking past Blake, his mind not in that room. His thoughts went back to when Fito and him fought in the holodeck. The dead bodies littered the promenade and Ryan Aurora was lying dead on the floor. The debris flooded the space around the station and dead bodies floated in the coldness of space. Reports of Fito's cruelty came in almost on a daily basis. Ian had to literally stop those reports from coming in, unable to hear anymore. Perhaps what Blake did was right, but then again it might not have been. What about the civilians? The innocents who would die from this. Men, women, and children who have no part in the war except for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was so tired of the reports. The losses. The death. Ian vowed that he would not let this turn into another Dominion war. He couldn't let that happen, not again. The UFP couldn't take it. Ian did not like what Blake had done and he would say something...

"I don't like the choice you made mr. Robitaille," He said, simply, "I will do the only thing I can do.....dismissed."

He let Blake leave, not having anything else to say. Ian would not reprimand him. He would not call back the Malon ships either. Ian wouldn't stop them from accomplishing their task. What was done, was immoral and bad on many levels. It hurt Ian to no end. He was a Starfleet officer. He took a vow to protect life, not destroy it. A disturbed captain turned back to the view port and stared out into space. He wondered if the Malon would be able to even enter Nautolian and Cardassian space. There were patrols everywhere that would maybe destroy them or disable them and send them away.

"Maybe," He said, "They'll turn around when they see the ships...maybe..."

He that in an effort to try and make what he had just done, not so bad...it didn't work...
