Risa, Quarters

Ziona didn't even flinch, didn't close her eyes... didn't do anything. She just watched as the counter hit two and then... went blank. She sucked in a ragged breath and exhaled, shutting her eyes and collapsing backwards onto the floor where she laid still for a few minutes, trying to catch her breath. The humanoid's blood was still congealing on her dress but she didn't move to wipe it off.

((Oops, just realized I've been forgetting to put my talking in italics to the alien, ))

~ Ops, Deep Space Guardian ~

Blake smiled at the alien who mentioned the fact the one of the coordinates was hours out of their way. He didn't care. He would have his victory now... Not a better issue could have arisen during Xavier's absense.

"Well, I'm sure a long voyage where you return home safely is far better than one where you don't return at all, isn't it?" Blake said to the alien, "You'll be able to take your entire convoy to those two locations, though. You'll be able to unload everything."

T'Sa stood watchng Bake. He was a remakrible...liar. At least thats what one would say. What he had planned, intruiged T'Sa. She found herself wanting to know what it was. She sent a message to Blake. The Radiation will approch threatning levels in a matter of minutes T'Sa looked at the read out. The planet was in danger. The shields of the station could add some defense....

(I forgive you Dan. )

-DSG, OPS-

The Malon stared the coordinates that Blake sent for a while. He felt like something was wrong here. The Federation had...dealt with them before in the Delta quadrant. He looked at Blake, a dark smile crossing his fat face.

"Our peoples have met before in the Delta quadrant," He said, "The experiances haven't always been pleasant. You'll forgive me for not trusting you. I also don't think you'll close the wormhole. You...Federation seem like oppurtunists. The wormhole is certainly an oppurtunity. You'll find that I have all the options, not you. Good-bye."

The channel closed and Jones immediatly reported.

"Commander?" He said, "The Malon ships have broken off and are making their way to Elerra Prime!"

This left Blake with a big dilemna. He could fire on the wormhole and destroy it, but the Malon would dump their radiation almost immediatly in retaliation. He could also fire on the ships, but again, the radiation would choke this system to death as it left the explosion.

-Risa, Quarters-

Ian sighed in relief, still clutching the now loose wire. He looked back at Ziona, confused about what just happened.

"Care to tell me what that was all about?" He asked.

~ Ops, Deep Space Guardian ~

Blake sighed at the stupid alien. Calling Blake on not having the courage to close a worm hole? Blake chuckled then turned to Jones.

"Arm several photon torpedos and lock onto the worm hole immediately, and engage tractor beams on as many of the ships as you can," Blake ordered then tapped his comm-badge, "Robitaille to Archer and Reed, how's the status of the Guardian? If it's repaired, prepare to board it. If not, I'd suggest making your way to some of the individual fighter crafts this station has been blessed with."

Blake turned back to Jones.

"Fire one low yield torpedo at the wormhole, but be prepared to ensure we can keep it open, too. Lets give them a scare."

T'Sa steped over to Blake. She rose an eyebrow. "Commander? I fail to see how..." T"Sa looked to the viewscreen. "'scaring' them will make the co operate." She stayed silent for a moment. "The Wormholes matrix is unstable, a torpedo may damage it."

-USS Guardian, Engineering-

Archer was under a consol working on a warp relay when Blakes voice came over the com. He set his tools down and tapped his com badge. "Archer here, Commander, we are already on board, everythings set unless you need the ship to use her warp engines."

Jones hesitated, unsure if he should proceed with this. Especially with T'Sa's warning, it didn't seem right to do. Then again, Elerra Prime was moment's away from being radiation poisoned. Closing the wormhole could be a threatening gesture. The Malon ships were not warships and these were not soldiers. They were people simply dumping the dangerous radiation so their world would remain beautiful. They wouldn't use the raditation as weapons. This must have just been an arrogant and stupid Malon captain. The others probably followed in confusion and desperation of the wormhole's limited time. The cyborg armed a low yield torpedoe and fired at the wormhole. Space became chaotic immediatly. The Malon ships broke from the planet and scrambled back to the wormhole.

"Commander," He said, "Its hard to get a tractor lock due to the radiation interference."

The lead ship with the arrogant captain headed towards the station, venting theta radiation.

"The lead Malon ship is headin directly for us," He said, "They're venting A LOT of lethal radiation sir."

Jones targeted the Malon ship and fired a warning shot, but it was difficult to get a lock.

"Captain T'Sa, hail one of the scattering ships! I want them to stay!" Blake said, angrily then tapped his comm-badge to talk to Archer, "Warp will not be necessary, just prevent the ships from heading to the station, the planet or the worm hole."

Blake ran over to a tactical console, being trained himself as he was a tactical/security officer before becoming strictly security, and armed the phasers.

"Jones, get ready to use the transporters. I need you to transport all of the theta radiation from the destroyed Malon ship into the station's biofilters," Blake ordered as he armed as many of the phasers closest to the Malon lead ship as he could.

Blake used what scattered readings he could to best make out where the Malon ship was, and using manual targetting began firing all of the phasers as close as he could to the Malon ship, hoping to destroy it.

T'Sa nodded and ran to the communications colsol. She spoke out. "Malon vessel, you are ordered to disengange your engines. Repete, disengage your engines."

-USS Guardian

Archer nodded as if Blake could see it. "On my way commander." Archer looked to Reed. "Let's go." both men went for the bridge....

Jones watched as the Malon ship continued towards the station. If he got closer, the shields would have serious problems. He prepared the transporter for transport and waited for Blake's mark. Phasers lanced out from the station at the behest of Blake, who controlled tactical. One pierced the Malon ship's storage tanks and radiation seeped out. No doubt shields were dropping, but Blake was at tactical and in control. The Malon ship immediatly diverted course, not wanting to be destroyed by the power station. He sent a hail.

"Please stop firing!" He yelled, "I surrender!"

Jones looked at Blake.

"One of the tanks have ruptured," He warned, "They're venting radiation."

His fingers ran over the console, but a transporter lock wasn't feasible with the ship that close.

"Commander?" He said, "I can't get a lock until that ship moves away from us."

Blake smirked as hje received the hail from the Malon screaming that he surrender. But now they had the problem with the ship being unable to contain its radiation and the station unable to lock. Blake tapped the console and sent a hail.

"Malon ship, move away from the station and we'll be able to effectively neutralize the radiation and spare your lives from the otherwise horrible deaths that will ensue from the toxic substance."

Blake still wanted the USS Guardian out there to prevent the other ships from leaving. Not when he had such a great chance to use them at ending the war...

Blake looked over at Jones. "Divert power from unnecessary systems to shields."

T'Sa stood there and sighed quietly. The Malon were wise to do as they were told. There waas no Logic in attempting to do so otherwise.

Space

The Guardian came around the 'corner' after exiting the statation and headed towards the ships. Shields were raised, weapons at standby.

DSG, Ops

T'Sa looked to blake. "Commander...with the shields raised, the transporters will not be able to function."

"Damnit," Blake cursed. She was right, "Then we'll have to lower the shields once they've moved away to give our sensors some breathing room..." Blake thought for a moment. Perhaps shuttles?

"Jones, dispatch as many shuttles as we can to help filter the radiation. We can't let it affect the populace of the station..."

T'Sa rose an eyebrow. Just who would Pilot those shuttles. "Perhaps we should aleart sickbay of possible incoming patients with Theta Radiation posioning."

Space

The Malon ship started to reverse away from the station slowly. It seemed as if they were taking their time at moving the ship. The others for the moment were remaining stationary.

-USS Guardian, Bridge-

Archer was in the Captain's chair looking at the view screen. He tapped a button on the arm rest to hail the station. "Archer to DSG, need some help?"

Blake was starting to get annoyed. People were suggesting things thereby slowing down the actions Blake ordered.

"The faster people follow my orders, the sooner the radiation gets cleaned up and thereby the less people in need of medical attention!" Blake said rather rudely, "Jones, dispatch the shuttles."

Blake sighed in relief when Archer offered assistance now that the other ships were remaining in place.

"We need the radiation filtered through transporter biofilters. The Malon ship is too close and is interfering with ours. We are in the process of dispatching shuttles to do this while the Malon ship takes its time reversing away from the station. Do what you can to start the clean up. If the Malon ship does not hurry then threaten to destroy it. I've had enough of this arrogant captain."

T'Sa stood there for a moment. "I...aplogize if I have offended you." She steped away as Jones reported that the shuttles were being prepped for launch. T'Sa went to the science station and sat down. She would keep an eye on the sensors.

-USS Guardian, Bridge-

Archer nodded again, as if Blake could see it. "Aknowlaged Commander" Archer nodded to the officer at the helm who moved the ship foward. He sighed. "Reed,..." Archer shrughed slightly. "Lock on to that ship...tell them to..hurray." Reed nodded as he locked the phasers on to the ship near the station and relayed the message.

DSG, Corridor

Shanna was walking by the corridor windows when she happened to look outside and saw what was happening. "Oh my god!" Shanna exclaimed. Shanna was hurring to a turbo lift and during this time she hit her comm badge. "Ensign Taylor to Commander Blake. Do you need any help sir?" Shanna asked.

Deep Space Guardian, Replimat

Melina and a disfigured Cardassian sit at a table in the Replimat, mugs in their hands, in the middle of a conversation...

"So...Uh...You're from...Cardassia Prime...huh?"

"Yes. I was born in Lakarian City. I moved to Culat when I was twelve years old. As you might know, Lakarian City is no more. Not after the Dominion War, that is."

"Oh. Yes...My hometown...was destroyed, as well. During the Occupation. Jo'Kala. However, with time, the city has been rebuilt...for the most part..."

"That is most unfortunate, Colonel. However, I am glad that you were able to rebuild."

"Thank you. It seems that we have more in common than I once thought."

"It appears so."

"Yes...Well...I should be going. I...have to..."

"Oh! I understand. Station business, right? I can...wait...I shouldn't..."

"What?"

"I...I was stationed on a station once...during the Occupation..."

"Which station?"

"Oh...That doesn't matter."

"I think it does."

"It was...Deep Space Nine..."

"Oh..."

"Colonel? Are you alright?"

"Oh! I'm...I'm fine...I..."

"I think that I should be going, now. Doctor Roberts said that I need my rest. I believe that she is right. After...after the torture...Well...I am quite sore...heh..."

"I can understand. And...I am sorry for what happened to you. Dicot was a...twisted man. I never liked him...In a way...I'm glad that he's dead."

"Believe me, Colonel. So am I. What that man did to me...It was...horrible. I've seen Cardassian torture before. I've even participated in torture before. But...I've never...never...seen it that bad...that man was truly sick."

"Yes...Well...Goodbye, Mister Jorak."

"Goodbye, Colonel Ryder."

DSG, OPS

Juliana let a heavy sigh escape her lips. She was obviously annoyed.

"I'll report to Sickbay and prepare for any radiation victims, right away." Juliana spat, sarcastically.

While she would usually never act in such a way to her superiors, today was just one of those days. In fact, the last week or so had been a living hell. She had made enemies with the Captain and the Chief Tactical Officer, broken both of her legs...the list just goes on.

Juliana sighed, once more, before slowly turning around. With the help of he cane, she limped her way towards the Turbolift.

Once in the Turbolift, she commanded the Computer to take her down to Sickbay. During the whole ride down to Sickbay, Juliana wore an angry scowl...uncharacteristic for the usually optimistic and nervous doctor.

T'Sa rose her eyebrow as the doctor of the station exited Ops. That was a rather unlogical reaction towards a potential dangerous situation. T'Sa looked down at the sensor read out. The ship was getting further away, she also detected a weapons lock on them, from the USS Guardian This entier station was filled with non logic. Then again...it WAS a Human station, is rather. T'Sa then reminded her self it was Ian's station. This station was perhaps...the best station. These were stressful times, it was logical to assume that emotional beings would loose their control. "The vessel be far enough away for transporter use in 45 seconds..." T'Sa reported.

Deep Space Guardian, Sickbay

Juliana sat, hunched over her computer, in her office. The room was pitch-black, aside from the bright light that the computer gave off and the dim glint of Juliana's green eyes. Juliana's cane was propped up against one of the several bookcases that were scattered throughout the young doctor's cramped office.

Juliana, herself, was typing away on her computer, searching through some old medical files; files on theta radiation, to be exact. She looked quite tired. Bags had developed under her eyes. The events of the last few weeks had tired Juliana and now with this new radiation crisis, Juliana was feeling worse than ever. She only wished that she could be back in bed with a good book and a hot cup of raktajino. Just at the thought of that, Juliana couldn't help but smile.

Back to the files...Currently, Juliana was viewing an old medical file from the U.S.S. Voyager, the starship that was lost in the Delta Quadrant for seven years or so. Juliana was amazed that a hologram was able to work as the acting doctor aboard the vessel for seven years was amazing. Juliana would never trust a hologram as an acting doctor for seven seconds. Holograms...who needs them?

Anyways...the file contained important information on theta radiation. According to the file, theta radiation, also known as theta-band emissions, was a product formed by contaminated antimatter byproducts. It is extremely dangerous to the health of humanoids. Theta radiation can also block sensor scans. The file spoke of an alien race native to the Delta Quadrant known as the Malon that used antimatter quite often and was plagued with excess theta radiation quite often. From the picture that the file gave, these "Malon" looked like the aliens that were bothering the station. Could they be the same? But...how? The Malon were from the Delta Quadrant?

Continuing on...Transporter biofilters can stop theta radiation from entering a ship or station. Juliana had heard Commander Robitaille talking about the biofilters before she had left for Sickbay.

On to the effects...Besides the usual effects of radiation, theta radiation had some nasty side-effects. In fact, the final stages of theta radiation poisoning involves the degrading of major body organs. Quite...uncomfortable...

And the file went on...However, Juliana just didn't have the time to read all of it. She needed to find a cure...or at least something to slow down the effects of the radiation...and fast.

Juliana quickly spun around in her chair, with a frustrated scowl on her face, that same scowl that she had been wearing for the last month or so. She scratched her head, apparently in thought.

"How the hell am I going to do that?" Juliana groaned, obviously annoyed.

Jones watched ths screen and the seconds count down. Finally, it hit 0. He transported the radiation and managed to get rid of it using the transporter buffer.

"Done." He said to Blake.

A sigh of relief escaped his throat. The idea of that radiation seeping onto the station was daunting. He looked at the viewscreen and noticed the Malon ships going back to the wormhole.

"They're leaving..." He reported.

-Risa, Quarters-

Ian slowly nodded his head, not really understanding. He looked at the alien, confused about what this was all about.

"We better call the authorities..." He said.

Blake was rather annoyed at the fact Ensign Taylor failed to address him properly. He tapped his comm-badge, "Starfleet protocols demand that you address you superiors by their rank and surname, ensign. I suggest you learn mine."

Blake sighed at the ensign but quickly turned to a smirked in victory now knowing that the station was safe, and hopefully without many cases of sickness from the radiation. His victory was not complete though.

"Jones, open a hailing frequency to all of the Malon ships," Blake ordered.

Jones nodded in acknowledgement and the channel was open.

"To all Malon ships, now that I am addressing all of you rather than the one arrogant captain, I will give you the same offer he neglected to take advantage of," Blake tapped in the coordinates once more to the two planets, "You may unload all of your radiation in these coordinates and these coordinates alone. Your world will not have to deal with it and you'll be able to unload your entire convoys storage full. This station has the capacity to stabalize the wormhole while you go about unloading the radiation. I suggest you chose wisely as without this station's help, you won't get another change to return to this quadrent."

Jones watched as the Malon ships immediatly obeyed, taking advantage of an oppurtunity as rare as this. He knew where Blake had sent them to and smirked. Cardassia and Nautolian space would be filled up with smog soon...

"Good job commander." He said to Blake.

He was glad that Ian had left Blake in charge this time. The cyborg had nothing against Melina personally, but he wasn't sure if she would have done what Blake did.

"This is great," He said, "We now have a stable wormhole to the Delta quadrant. We're gonna make history!"

T'Sa interjected. "I'm afraid the wormhole will only stay open for months, if we keep sending power to it. The matrix is quite unstable."

T'Sa looked at the cordnates. She realized their locatons... She knew what he was doing. It was un ethical of a starfleet officer. "Commander? These cordnates...are in habited systems."
