PostSun Jun 04, 2006 4:57 pm    Favorite Trip?

I'm leaving on Wed to go on a road trip to Ventura, California w/ my best friend Grace who is moving there. (Ventura is about an hour north of L.A. on the coast for those who don't know where it is located). Anyway, we're making a trip out of the drive there as well! We'll be going thru South Dakota to the badlands and blackhills, cutting thru Wyoming and heading up to Montana just to see how beautiful it is!! Then we'll be going south thru Idaho, Utah, and then into Arizona to the Grand Canyon. Then we're off to Las Vegas, Nevada and then straight on over to Los Angelos, Beverly Hills....etc... and then off to Ventura. After we get Grace moved in, she's gonna drive me up to Oakland (right next to San Fransisco) where i have family living. I'm going to then spend a week with them before I fly home. I CAN'T WAIT!

Anyway, i've taken many trips in my life alone, and with family. Florida, Maine, California, Texas, Arizona, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Ohio, Illinois.... and by far my most favorite, Europe!! I got to see England, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain, and Portugal.

That trip to Europe was above and beyond all the others! Of course all the others were a blast, but there's nothing like a foreign country I LOVED IT! Anyway, that was my most favorite trip. What was yours?

I don't travel far. Just takes me away from home. After a day or two away from home (far away) I get kinda panicky and uncomfortable.

I don't mind spending time away, if i'm within an hour's drive of home; cause then I can just pack up and head back whenever I wish.

We went to Nova Scotia for a couple of weeks a few years back. It was fun, lots of driving meant lots of sleeping, and that's always good. Plus there's lots of seafood, which is definitely the best kind of food. And what's better than a bunch of Canadians who want to be American? Who knows.

This trip to London is pretty cool. Thorpe park tomorrow

I've seen a lot of the sites: Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, been on the London Eye and around the Science Museum and BBC television centre (and wore an invisibility coat), and then the Canadian Embassy

The BBC TV centre was great- saw the rehearsal for Blue Peter, and the beginning of the recording of the Paul O'Grady show (which is filmed there even though it's on Channel 4). Learnt quite a bit too

I'll make a big long post when I get home

My fav trip was when i was in High school in the 10th grade and the hole concert band went to Dallas, Texas and performed a show at the majestic theatre. Then we went to the Six Flag's over Texas. The reason this is my fav trip and not one of my ones to europe or asia is that i liked this trip becuase it let me hang out with all my freinds off of school terms.

My favorite trip was to Dubai. I loved it there. It was the farthest (is that a word? ) I've ever went. I live in The Netherlands, so I've been to France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, England and Switserland. That's old news to me

But Dubai, wow! Cultureshock, at first, because of the different clothes they wear of course, but a great country. People at stores are actually nice to you, they want you to buy stuff. I went to the 'souks', those are old markets with all kinds of stuff they sell there.
And the gold, of course.
I bought a ring there, for 1000 dirham. That's about 200 euro's, and it was gold and white gold, with 2 diamonds!! Well, if I were in Holland, I would pay much, much more for that. I'm so happy with my ring

I was there for two weeks, but it was over before I knew it. We did some great things, we went to a little piece of Oman that's right above Dubai, we got on a boat and saw dolphins.. so cool. We went shopping (things are CHEAP there! ), riding in the desert with cars, wow, it was so cool.

I'd love to go there again, but if I could, and got the money, I would really like to visit the US (course ), Italy again, but also Asia, Tibet or something. I think that would be really great. But that last thing is just an 'if'.

-->
A little map of Dubai;
If you look at the top, there's a little 'piece' of Oman, that's where I went on the boat.

Dubai is a very interesting place i'm sure. I would like to see that artifical Island they are making there, but other than this its just desert.

My favorite trip was to uhm.... Germany i guess, right next door. Great forests, nice people. Nice food too.

i've also been to great Britain, France, Szecho, Portugal and Spain. with the car we also went through Belgium, Luxembourg and Poland.

I looooved going to California, because I had never actually been to the west coast until then, and the beach is so much different than the beaches on the gulf. It was much more secluded and mysterious I guess.

At the same time, I really liked going to Washington D.C. and Colorado.

Finally, I enjoyed the cruise I went on over the past Spring Break. That was especially fun because none of my family was there and it was just me and my friends . Plus, everyone likes tanning on the beach, so yeah. Everywhere I have been on vacation to though has been fun.
