Maybe, FC did state that Humanity changed because they realized we're not alone in the universe.

As for the other speices? Could have, we dont know, because trek focuses on Starfleet/Humans rather then other species.
Enterprise Season Four: 'The Forge'-Converstation with Admiral Forrest and Ammbassador Soval wrote:

Soval: Admiral, I know you find our reluctance to share technology and discoveries restrictive.

Forrest: I can think of a few stronger words than that.

Soval: We don't know what to do about humans. Of all the species we've made contact with, yours is the only one we can't define. You have the arrogance of Andorians, the stubborn pride of Tellarites... One moment, you're as driven by your emotions as Klingons, and the next, you confound us by suddenly embracing logic.

Forrest: I'm sure those qualities are found in every species.

Soval: Not in such confusing abundance.

Forrest: Ambassador. Are Vulcans afraid of humans?

(Soval does not respond, his silence answers the question)

Forrest: Why?

Soval: Because there is one species you remind us of.

Forrest: Vulcans

Soval: We had our wars, Admiral, just as humans did. Our planet was devastated, our civilization nearly destroyed. Logic saved us. But it took us almost 1,500 years for us to rebuild our world and travel to the stars. You humans did the same in less than a century. There are those on the High Command who wonder what humans would achieve in the century to come, and they don't like the answer....

Yes, thats right. and We have done that so fast because of the Help of the Vulcans, the knowledge of the fact we are not alone, the introduction of New technology. I wonder what was the reason why the Vulcans decided too explore space, not with the same intentions as we have i would guess, thats the reason why they had warp 2 only a century later, they hadn't had the motivation as we did.

It wouldh ave taken very long for HUmanity to recover from WWIII if the vulcan didn't show up.

IDK why they dont explore, they keep their ships close to home, they might be afraid of whats out there.

Could be right, that would expalin he huge gap between warp 1 and 2 even more. That would porably feel like rocketing towards the horizon wihout a compass. Scary.

We are not afraid o whats out there though, even after meeting Orion, Tholians, Xindi, Borg, Dominion, Romulans, Malon, Species 8472.

No, we're not, but this has gotton off topic, if someone were to make a topic on this, it could be cool. Back to topic, why is humanity diverse, and others not?

I think you are all missing one vital point.

Humanity (earthlings whatever you wish to call our species) is diverse, we do not have to leave our planet to explore vastly different cultures or races.

It is our diversity that makes us want to learn/explore other cultures and new things such as technologies.

This can be positive (in creating warp drive or replicators etc.) or it can be negative (such as the cloning which resulted in the Eugenics Wars).

Most humans like new and unknown things (there are some xenophobic and isolationist humans but very rare), because life is all about learning and exploring new things ( my motto is if you do not learn one thing everyday you are not living).

It is a need to find answers to all our questions are we alone, do we exist for a reason and how should we live our lives.

Other species in the ST universe are either dealing with problems of thier own or have already explored what they want to explore (due to conflict with a neighbouring race or due to technological limitations).

The Q are very different to all other species as was explained in Death Wish when Q and Quinn took Janeway and Tuvok back to the continnum and the two humanoids did not understand what the road meant (talk about close minded), the Q had explored all the universe and talked about all the universe a millenium ago so there was nothing else to discuss and explore and they were interested in why Humans needed to explore because the Q had forgotten what it was like to be curious.
