PostSat May 27, 2006 9:12 pm    Why hasn't the Borg invaded earth yet?

Well I ask myself this...
The borg have had many bad encounters with the federation and especially with Starfleet.

The Borg should have enough cubes and spheres to plan an attack on earth... so my question is:

Why hasn't the borg invaded earth yet and destroy mankind?

The only thing I can think of is that it is an idea of the Borg Queen. She sees the quick grow in human technology and has a plan to asimillate humans from time to time to gain those new technologies. That's just the only thing i can think of. Cause i think humans are the biggest pain in the ass for the Borg.

The Borg assimilated Earth in First Contact (remember the black and brown Earth?), but the Enterprise went back in time and changed history. There was also a TNG episode where the Earth was assimilated in a parallel-universe and Ricker was captain of the Enterprise.

The borg believe in Efficiency. When they attack a species they take as little resources possible too take thst Species out, just enough.

According to Logic 1 Borg cube is enough too defeat the entire Federation fleet and assimilate earth, so they send 1 Borg cube. The first time failed since after the massacre at Wolf 359 Captain Jean Luc picard was assimilated and with the help of his crew the Enterprise ws able too recapture him and send a code thorugh his body too blow up the Cube.

Still, only 1 cube would have been enough too Defeat Humankind so when they tried it a second time nothing except Captain Jean-luc Picard would sop the borg in reaching their goal so again they only send 1 Cube beaue Enterprise was in the Neutral zone, but also this second time failed because Picard showed up and exploited the Cubes weakness. The Borgs attempt to go back in time and assimilate earth in the past also Failed only because of the Enterprise again, o they ould have succeeded.

So you see, they have tried to invad earth with enouhp owr but each time they hwere stopped by 1 man.

They could try it again, but again they will only send 1 Cube.

Their next cube will be a direct attack on Captain Pickard himself.

Why would they send 1 cube again?

I mean wouldn't logic suggest that it would be far more efficient to send a couple more to invade earth... i mean if you keep sending just one ship you will lose far more resources. So that isnt logical at all right?

That would be abit hard now since janeway destroyed them at the end of endgame by the admiral janeway. But, It will be hard to know if they will come to earth again.

Janeway didn't destroy the Borg....

And to answer the question, the Borg are really stupid.

Hahaha.... Yeah. In Several eps of Voy, they clearly use several ships of various types to invade a single planet, yet when they invade the Federation they send a cube. Poor plot reasons

She doesn't control everything the borg do. She can't be everywhere at all times, the Borg are a hive mind, it tihnks for itself. They work on different parts of the Galaxy with 1 goal, to find perfection. So when a Planet needs to be assimilated for Technology or new drones they go to that planet to assimilate, no need to send in 20 Cubes when you can take over with 1.

So they send 1, just 1. They are so arrogant they believe that every little advantage the enemy has will be adapted to before they are destroyed.

They also believe that the last attempts failed because of Incalculatable situations, so the next time it will be the same for them. Once they start seeing earth as a neccesary target in their goal for perfection they will do the exact same thing, attack with 1 cube.

Maybe, just maybe after Voyager got home and the Federation starts using Transphasic torpedo's and Armor the might send a larger force, but they calculate how many Cubes its gonna take. Just enough to adapt to their techonlogy or Assimilate it and then it will all be over.

Sure, as a human you might think that when you have hundreds of cubes at your disposal and yuo need to take out the Federation you will attack full force, but those cubes can do a lot more usefull things like Explroing the Delta Quadrant or Assimilate another species they encountered(like species 8472).

Nah, 1 will do and the rest can continue their search for technology.

Thats the thing, 1 will NOT do. Its been proven. They tried it twice and both times it failed....

Yeah, really, and As I stated, I've seen episodes where they use entire fleets to invade a single planet, yet when they invade an entire empire, they use only ONE cube? 0o...

It WOULD do, just becuse Picard stopped them twice doesn't mean they need aother cube to help assimilate earth.

Your talking about the VOY episode where Seven was forced to watch the borg assimilate and entire pseices on 1 panet that wasn't even capable of warp flight yet right?

well i remember from that ssimilation that they left fterwrds, instead of accupying the planet the took the population away. They would need a Fleet to carry the population away with wouldn't they?

As yuo have seen in First Contact, they want to occupy Earth, without picard they would have, twice. With the use of just 1 cube.

Yes she did...don't you remember seeing the entire unicomplex come crumbling down in flames at the end?

And yes, the Borg must be stupid. They send a fleet of several ships to a planet in Dark Frontier, with Seven on the ships that were sent...so why not do the same for Humans? The Queen said that their resistance quotient was low in that episode...so why send a fleet? No sense...

I think Founder meant that Janeway didn't destroy every single Borg. 'Cause, Janeway did destroy that unicomplex...silly Janeway.

Hmm...without a unicomplex...no Borg? Makes sense to me...that was their equivalent to Earth. You destroy Earth and you cripple the Federation/Starfleet. If I remember correctly, they even said that in "Star Trek: Nemesis."

So, you COULD say there might be some rogue Borg ships out there, but since the Queen regulated them..since she was "The Borg," and she can't "regulate" them, then those remaining ships would go crazy and fail without the central conciousness of the Borg. Not to mention that the Queen's Central Plexus is destroyed...through which all the Borg are linked anyway, so again, there's no longer a central conciousness...and the Borg on each ship can't communicate b/c the Queen's Plexus is gone that links them...so they would ultimately be destroyed.

First of all, there is NO WAY that Voyager, a puny little science ship, could have destroyed the SECOND-most (Wanna know the number one? In my opinion, anyways...The Dominon!!!) powerful enemy race in the Star Trek universe.

Yes, I bet you that many Borg are dead, but, the whole Collective? I don't think so...The Borg Queen is only like the face of the Borg. The Borg can operate without her. It's gonna take awhile, but, the Borg will be back with a vengeance. They just have to find some more races to assimilate to rebuild their ranks of evil drones...MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

But how can you not see, plainly, that their central conciousness is gone? She was not only killed, but her surroundings also destroyed. Her Central Plexus, that she used to regulate, (Which was clearly stated in "Unimatrix Zero") is destroyed. She regulated them. They can't function on their own. They can't even communicate with the other drones on their own ship. They would go mad. The ship and its components would go unattended and the ships would either shut down or burn out and blow up...they can't rebuild...

That is unless Trek comes up with a way for that to happen...but I don't see how it would...or could for that matter. The only logical way for that to happen is Christi Golden's "Homecoming" and "The Farther Shore." And they're not gonna use that story...

Drones have been lost before, they recovered. Just because what we saw was destroyed dont mean there isnt a secondary system somehweres. Borg my be stupid, but their not to stupid.

But I also don't think that they anticipated anybody actually being able to bring down their ENTIRE Unicomplex in one swift swoop like Janeway did... I highly doubt that there was such a "secondary." It wouldn't be characteristic to the Borg. Such confidence, and arrogance that nobody could penetrate the Unicomplex and take out the Queen and her Central Plexus and other various technologies that link the Borg in one fatal touch...that is characteristic to the Borg...

http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Borg

Read all of the links and whatnot. It is unknown whether or not the Borg are truly defeated.

Trust me...Paramount would not allow the most famous and one of the coolest ST race (to the newer viewers, at least) be killed off. That's just wrong. Plus...I still don't think that Voyager could even do that. Voyager bent the rules...a LOT. In a bad way. Just like LB said. I'm not a VOY fan and I'll never be one. Borg Queen's have been killed before. She'll be back. Plus...really...this "Central Plexus" thing already breaks established canon. Go check out the Borg Queen MA page. The Borg Queen does NOT control the entire Collective. The Collective CAN function without her.

Plus...even if the Borg are destroyed. Seven can go crazy and assimilate everyone on Voyager...HOORAY!!! Please do, Seven. Then blow up Voyager.
