This topic is for questions and topics of a varying degree. While you may still make intelligent discussion topics such as perhaps "the diversity of a Starfleet crew", this topic is host to such questions as "who's hotter" or "Which is better(...)?
All questions relating to trek that are not opinion based such as a stardate, a name, what class a ship is, etc, should be posted in the "Official Star Trek Questions" topic.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM a Mod, or an Admin with any questions.

Global STV Rules wrote: | Piracy, and Warez
StarTrekVoyager.Com has a very strict policy against piracy, warez, and the illegal use of copyrighted material. Linking or giving information about any site that distributes illegal software, media, or emulators, seeking help to circumvent any copyright laws, admitting to possessing and/or distributing illegal copyrighted material, or encouraging software or media piracy is grounds for a ban. This goes for all copyrighted material, including but not limited to games, movies, music, and videos. |
This is also not only againts the rules, but not really what this topic is meant for.

It's not against the rules if he uses a downloader such as Napster or iTunes where you pay for the songs/videos you download. But if he uses one that involves ripping for free, then yes it's against the rules being that STV is based in the US where DLing is illegal unless paid for.

Ignore my question, a friend downloaded it for me. Couldn't find it on iTunes so i thought i would ask here. If i have broken the rules, i am really sorry.
Anyway, back to topic.
Who do you think is a better Captain:
Rudolph Ransom or Kathryn Janeway?
My choice would be Ransom. He has done many things for the Federation*Janeway says that when she checks his bio*. Not only did he survived the Delta Quardrent much longer*they had been there for several years, before they met Voyager* but he also commanded a Nova Class in the Delta Quardrent. Okay, he broke the primair directive many times but, what would you do if you where stuck in the Delta Quardrent with almost all of you're crew being killed and having command of a small science vessel? Still, i think he is a better Captain then Janeway.

BURN!!! lol
Yea..Janeways okay I guess...but she's not all that great either.
But I do have to disagree...Kathryn is the better captain than Ransom. I would hope that if I were in the same situation I did not cause harm to other civilizations etc just so I could get....80+ people home faster.
P.S. This is my Two Thousandth post!

Well, they were in there about the same time as Voyager give or take a few days or months. He also killed innocent life forms to try and get home, as much as a witch janeway is, I am glad she didn't do that. He was also predictible, which is why janeway beat him

The Equinox was in the Delta Quadrant for over a year longer than Voyager.

It launched in 2370, VOY was lost in 2371, so between the 2370 and 2371 is when Equinox was lost

At any cost, the Equinox was in the Delta Quadrant longer than Voyager. I even agree with what Ransom did. He needed to get his crew home. Who cares if you break the Prime Directive? No one would know. He needed to get home at any cost, right? I mean, who wants to stay in the Delta Quadrant for 75 years!?! Plus, what he did wasn't all that bad, anyways.

Actually several hundred for the poor Equinox crew. I do to a degree agree with Ransom,

Why did Starfleet send ships into Wolf 359 filled with families? I don't care if the Borg threat was huge, that seemed really messed up on Starfleet's part. That is like a cruiseliner, filled with civilians, was diverted to assist ships of greater, military power, to stop a nuclear warhead heading towards America. Why do that?
MY guess is they underestimated the Borg and thought a fleet of starships would easily tear it apart, no problems.

Yeah, thats part of it. Another part is that the BORG were going to be there FAST. The time it would have taken to evacuate the familes would have prevented the ships being there, and this may sound grusome, but with out those 39 ships slowing them down, the Enterprise wouldn't have cuaght up to the Borg.

Remember that Alien Whale in Star Trek: The Voyage Home?
When i saw that movie for the first time*ENT was already started* i couldn't help thinking about the Xindi. Those Xindi-Aquatic.. I think it where them who attacked Earth. I mean, the Aquatic could only talk "English" when they have translators with them.
Still, if they where the Aquatics, WHY did they attack Earth... They couldn't know that there are whales on Earth, right?

In the Sacrifice of Angels space battle, we see NCC-4811 crushed and on fire. What ship was that?
