i work as a checker and a sacker, these are things ppl need to learn

checkers:
1. it aint our fault if the beer rules won't let u buy it so cussing, whining and throwing tantrums does nothing! just accept that we are doing our jobs if u have a problem go to the manager.. and not the office manager

2. if we make a mistake it happens so again don't get whiny

3. try to have all ur money with you when u come in.... if u don't we either have to go through a suspension for your transaction and if u don't come back someone has to put up that whole basket. do you realize how hard that is?

4. NEVER cuss at us or be a brat we can do nothing back so it aint fair

5. do not lecture us on religion, morals or ethics

6. we don't care how things were when u were a kid

7. do not leave toddlers or infants in front of the register and walk off... same applies to chatty little ones, if they drive you insane they will most likely flip the switch to turn on and off the belt, poke at us or not shut up

8. if we don't feel good, don't get all disgusted with us for "touching ur food" we are just doing our jobs and can't stay home if we are sick because they have been known to fire us for that without a doctor's note!

9. be patient if we are asked a hard question and have to ask a hard question to the office because i don't know everything, ok?

10. just cause you are stressed, we don't want to hear about your horrible life! considering you don't have to stand for like 6 to 7 hours at a time you have it good

sacker

1. don't let ur kids spill stuff we have to clean it

2. we know how to do our jobs, so don't be all anal about how you want things done

3. we can get in trouble for not carrying out your groceries so let us do it

4. if we are working in extreme heat, give us a good tip. consider how many times we have done it that day and how hot and tired we are, please!

Chill out dude...

Now I also work in a grocery store at the moment.

Everyone at my store of course gets blamed by some lousy customers.

Luckily for me I have some loyal customers who apparently like my work.

There are five types of people that annoy me at work.

One is the very picky people who want a specific item placed at a specific location.

Two people who think they know more than you because they shop at the grocery store.

Three people who come in line and then starts complaning about long lines because we are short of employees in the morning hours.

Four the corporate people who should know better than to have our floral guy be forced to place flowers in a pot next to the front door on a windy day. All the flowers topple over and we have constance clean-up.

Five employees who apply for work and does work training but does not show up for work and gets removed aka fired immediately.

I will leaving this job to a better job as a Dennys cook. I'm going to make some breakfast all day everyday.

What ever happened to "the customer is always right?"
Seriously, though, I haven't treated any store worker rudely, and I don't plan on it, unless they deserve it, which some do, to tell you the truth.

lol though I agree with most of what's been said above here.

till workers.

dont make me stand waiting whilst you chat to your co worker for 3 minutes whilst I am standing unpacking my shopping and running out of space cas your too bizy talking about how your auntie's re marrying some guy.

till work'ers I dont want to here how your staff shortages are anoying you- I had to listen to one till worker telling me all about how the managers are terrible here and how they are going on strike (which never happened) and how we the customer should force the management to do more by complaining more.

and to the till worker in every store who loves to do this.
never offer my kid sweets, its hard enough to stop her from grabbing things from the belt with out you offering them sweets from behind your till (not the ones for sale but ones they cannot sell and such or what you have on you)
I ve had two till workers just give samantha a sweets one was a chockolate bar the other was a lolly both with 90% of there wrapper stoping me from unpacking the trolly and having to un wrap it, and then having to suffer a chockolate covered 2 year old in a car thats now twisty cas her sweets ran out.

now I may sound winy but sometimes its give and take,
but personaly the worst job on that list is the people who have to sake people expecialy when its friends or even family, I know of one till worker who lives 4 doors from me had to sack her own son cas the powers that be said x number had to go and he was one of the x number.

for the most part I like 98% of store workers lol the ASDA near where I live has a good work force at the monment though they need to stock more lol.

I work at a store too...... I used to check and shagg carts around all day long, we aren't allowed to get tips, they fire us for taking tips.... I got to be in the airconditioned store for maybe 5 minutes during a shift. MY WHOLE 10 HOUR SHIFT I SPENT 5 MINUTES INSIDE. Those 5 minutes were spent logging in and out..... so yeah..... honestly........ Customers are customers and they GENERALLY don't treat you poorly unless you treat them poorly first.

Care to explain what this has to do with anything? I'm not trying to be a smart aleck, but I don't get it....

If you mess up on bagging do they say you're going to Hell? That you'll be reincarnated into a roach? What? I don't get it...it just seems to random....

not that much really.
I most admit I dont think I have in all my years in shopping seen the person in front ever talk to a shop person about religion, apart from that one time where that guy bought meat his religion said he wasnt allowed and the till worker asked if he was sure he wanted it to the guys repose yes or why would I have put it on the till to be checked.

I ve lived in my own house for 3 years, of which I go food shopping every 2 weeks for a buig show and every week I ve not heard many people go on about religus beleaves to store workers.
so it makes clear sense to me what Founder is saying.

I mean asda ask if you need help with bag packing 90% of the time I say I and danni can cope,

myself being a non beleaver, and danni being a beleaver I'd nevber see her ever arguing with a till worker or even a viker of any religian forcing or even speaking about there beleafs to a till worker,

unless they are interested in the first place.

Mmm, seems to be a poor lack of customer service to me.
