The Story:

The year 2380, when the borg during their recovery from Admiral Janeway, were experiminting with organic compounds given the name "Zerg". The Expeariment went horribly wrong, and a life form with the designation 'overmind' was created. In a matter of minutes, overmind infected the cube. Once the cube was under his control, overmind went for the nearest borg planet. The cube landed, and the infected drones invaded. Overmind over saw the infection of the entire planet which only took hours, thanks to the borg hive mind. Overmind set it's mind on the rest of space and started an expansion campaing, making the planet his headquarters. In a matter of weeks, thousands of ships were infected, which included the Queen's Diamond. When she was infected the collective was again thrown into chaos...

The Overmind then went on to take a large percentage of Borg space. He sought perfection obsessivly, even moreso than the Borg. The Overmind had infected various species and created his own bastard race.

The Overmind started to set his sights beyond the initial space of the Delta quadrant. It had the technology of Borg Transwarp, plus the ever expanding of his influence and 'borders'. Not long, after this decision, he began to invade the Alpha, Beta, and Gamma Quadrants....

The war went on for months, every power that could fight fought. Many were 'assimilated' or 'infected' depending on how one would view it. The Overmind began to institute a slavery process to each world, making the inhabitants work at manual labor. No one not assimilated was allowed to leave these worlds. Thus, even though many species exsisted on a single planet, such as Humans, Klingons, Vulcans, et al on the planet, none ever left...

Overmind began a data purge, what ever it found that had asorbed or didnt want, was destroyed so rebellions could not find it...

The Rebellion started soon after, but was crushed, and so was the second, and the third, fourth,... and so forth. Each cell was harder and harder to find though, and even then it would be centeries before they won...

The Year is 2798, the slaves of earth made a blow to overseers forces on this planet, killing what ever didnt leave, thus, a first victory, after centuries of slavery. Not long after, other worlds managed to follow in suit. They managed to make small space craft for patrol pourposes. The people of Earth found Pluto, a storage facility on the so named planet in Sol, that contained data of earth history. much had been purged, what little was left had been carroded to barly readible condition. It was not long after that refenrces to starships, and a federation was found. The former slaves began to work together using this valuble data.

The small sector craft banded together with other sectors in a small radious, forming a military alliance. Work started on earth on better ships, using informaiton found on a "N'va" class...

2806, the first Ship made for a "Starfleet" is constructed after a period of roughly 400 years. The ships mission was to explore space, seek new allances, and destroy what ever they could find that once had them as slaves. The ship luanches from earth, headquarters of this new alliance...

Free Systems/Worlds
These systems/worlds are no longer under slave rule. Each world has agreed to mutual defence pacts, and an exchange of what little each had on thier culture, worlds, and what was left behind of ancestors. Using data found on Pluto, the worlds have agreed to make a unified military "starfleet". Talks of a "Federation" are underway, but many are unsure of a single governing entity. Much beyond these worlds are unknown.

Sol (Star)
    Earth
    Mars
    Pluto (Data Storage)

Other
Vulcan
Tau Ceti
Alpha Centauri
Andor

Species
The Planets that are now free has a diverse listing of inhabitents. What ever had made them slaves, had mixed species around on the planets, so it was common to find say, a Klingon, even though the worlds have no idea where the home system is.

Human
Vulcan
Klingon
Andorian
Bajoran
Trill (The Trill have an unusual cavity in their system, as if something could go there...) [IE, this means there are no joineds for now]
Tellarite

Of course, many more due to the diversity. Most though unless a native species from the current world will not know much abouttheir culture, or even where (Or if ther is one) the homeworld of thier people is.

?
Not much is known about the race. Where they came from, what religon if any they practice, what kind of reproduction process if any besides assimilation, or infection as some call it. Or a real sense of gender. A little is known about thier internal arrangement due to disecting corpes, and of course, much is known about thier external appearences...

Overmind
Nothing is known about the overmind. It's not even located in the alpha Quadrant.

Slave Master
These are the ones that are most commonly seen. There are countless masters on a planet watching over the slaves and maintaining order.

Miscellaneous Information:
SSV: Starfleet Service Vessel
N'Va: The Nova class. Data carodding had erased the "o".
Uniforms: Command/Helm, Engineering/Security/Ops, Science/Medical.

The Alliance: The free worlds formed an alliance, so aptly named. This is a formal agreement on mutual defenses, and some trading between worlds to assist in reconstuctions. Talks are in effect towards a possible 'federation. Some how ever, have shown concerns over a single governing entity.

Technology
Communicator: The Communicator was designed after attempting to read severly carodded Data on the technology. Several differnt attemtps were made to read the data, with no avail other then some schematics. This is a product of combined talants. The Communicator is worn on the left, or right wrist (Dependng on the user being right or left handed)

Hand Phasers
The Hand Phasers of Discovery were created from a combination of carooded Data, and people working together. The Phaser has Eight differnt settings.

Crew Bios
Rules
1. You MUST Be a trek species. There's pretty much an unlimted choice, aside the fact it also has to be from the Alpha/Beta Quadrants.
2.This RPG starts in 2806, remember that when making Bio's, I will request correctons for birthdays that say "2322" or something similar.
3. You're not related to an established character
4. Chances are, if we don't know about your species homeworld (Example if your a Klingon) then little to nothing is known about your culture.

Sa'Val, growing up on earth in a non Vulcan envrioment never learned supression of her emotions. she knew few other vulcans, who all knew little if not nothing of thier heritage. She did learn how to mind meld, and how to use a nerve pinch if need be. In 2776, when Sa'Val was 16, a rebelion cell attacked the camp she was in, freeing several slaves, including her. This group however was one of little to no Morals, and were not a "true" rebellion. They basicly took the slaves, and made them slaves for them. Sa'Val was taken as a "comfort" to the males. After several months of this Sa'Val had ceased to care of anything, only wanting death. In 2795 a stronger rebellion was starting to take hold. They attacked the underground settlement Sa'Val was being kept in and freed her. Realizing the truth of the real rebellion, Sa'Val joined them, rising though the ranks as she attacked the invaders. The Rebellion would finaly drive them off in 2798. From there on, Sa'Val served earth's defense force. She joined Starfleet when it was ressurected though what data the defense force had found...

Shortly after her freedom was restored, Riyoko succumbed to an unknown virus and died, leaving Hatsumono by herself. Once freed, Hatsumono lived most of her young life in an orphanage set up on Earth. After the final blow to the conquering force of Earth in the year 2798, Hatsumono set about to begin her training towards working with the rebellion to free other planets nearby. Health complications kept Hatsumono from going out into space to help free nearby planets. She was instead grounded to Earth where she worked as a control to communicate between vessels. Season One: Episode One: "A New Begining"

San Fransisco, Earth. May 07, 2806

Earth looked dirty. This is because of 400 years, give or take of slavery by a force that didn't care for 'clean' or beauty. There was little plant life, what buildings there were looked old and crumbling. It was night, eight oclock or so. The city of San Fransisco was alive again, lights lit up the night sky. In her apartment, Sa'Val was looking over some paper work, prepareing for the luanch that happens in a couple of days. The crew was gathered, but only some were on the shi, where final touches were being made. Sa'Val was working on crew reports, status, and reviewing the over all mission. Never in her life has she thought she'd be working on something like this. Not in the last 8 years, let alone when she was a slave. Why she was chosen as captain for the vessel, she will never quite understand. There was soft music playing, it soothed her to have it going, also made her think on the important stuff. Sa'Val put a scaner down and sighed. One bad thing about being the captain of the ship, all theextra paperwork and politics. Still, to take a ship into deep space and explore it sent a chill down her spine. All other vessles, were rarly leaving the system, as they were defense ships. There were some cargo ships though, that were meant for interstellar travel. But even then, they went to the other free worlds, which were just neighboring systems. Yes, truly, her ship was the first special ship, the first deep space ship. The class was called N'va, in remembernce of the people that came before on earth that had what seemed to be fleets of starships. Her ship could also reach the speed of warp 8. the cargos were 5-6, which was her ships cruising speed. Sa'Val sighed and stood and walked over to a window and looked out. the sky was full of many craft. Some landing from space, some going to space, some going to other locations on the planet. Sa'Val stared out the window at the sky.

San Fransisco, Earth, May 07, 2806

Hatsumono Meiji sat in a small corner of her apartment, kneeling on bamboo mats, her head bowed towards a small shrine. She wasn't much a religious person, but she did believe that this event in time... this very moment... was worth enough to ask for a safe passage and voyage. She hardly ever prayed and, even while she prayed, she doubt the gods could hear her. But it was something that she felt her father and mother would have wanted her to do... even though she had never known them.

It seemed rather odd to Hatsumono that there whould be all-powerful beings controlling the universe. It just didn't seem fair... that so few could hold the power to so many. That so few could make decisions for every person who ever blinked into existence. Could such a powerful being or beings exist? Could something or someone be powerful enough to snap their fingers and create the heavens, the earth, the other planets, the universe? The philosophy just didn't seem to make sense to Hatsumono. she felt that something was there... she felt everyone had a purpose, but she didn't feel that someone or something was controlling every step she made.

It was that sense that something was out there that had helped Hatsumono survive her slavery. It was that something that helped her survive when her best friend in the world, Riyoko died an untimely and horrible death. It was that something that drove her to do what she was about to do... to go somewhere she never thought she'd have a chance to go... to meet new people... to make something of her life.

Hatsumono sat up and looked at the small shrine in the corner, the incense burning lightly, permeating the normally thick scent of San Fransisco, with all it's dumps and slums. She longed for nothing more than to leave this world behind. To leave Earth and all its trash and crime and unbalanced nature. She sighed heavily and quickly wafted the smoke of the incense towards her, pulling the very smoke onto her intricate, old-fashioned kimono. She only wore this on very rare occasions and praying to the gods seemed to be on of those times.

It was a piece of history long lost due to the slavery put upon Earth. But it was a piece of history that Hatsumono herself owned. It wasn't an original and it wasn't even made of the correct material. That material had long since been shoved aside for more cost-efficient material that held up against the elements. But the shapes and colors and designs were the same. It was as good a replica as she would ever have.

Hatsumono knew nothing of her past... nothing of her heritage except one thing. And those things had been burned up soon after her freedom from slavery. They were a few pictures... old pictures printed on paper, of Japanese men and women dressed in brightly colored clothing much like the one she wore just then. That was the only link to her heritage... and even then, she didn't even know what to name the item that she wore. She didn't know that it was the Japanese that had given her her almond shaped eyes and dark hair and fair complexion. She didn't know the words to describe how she acted or the language she had originally spoken. Only over time had she evolved into the being that she was... a person, wandering without knowledge of where they had been or what had put them there.

Hatsumono crossed to the small on-the-floor bed and sat down, her hands folded in front of her. The room was silent. After a few moments she changed back into street clothes and looked around the small apartment. Soon she and most everything in it would be hurtling through space at god knows how many kilometers an hour. The thought almost scared her and Hatsumono sat down on the bed again, hugging her knees to her chest.

An assignment had been given to her. She was to be the Commander, the first office, aboard this ship. Hatsumono had never been outside of the country, let alone had she ever been to space. Originally, back when Earth had been freed of all the terror, she had been destined, she had been chosen, to be one of the few to go and fight for the freedom of other planets and systems, but health complications overtook her and she never was able to go. She still regrets that she had ever fallen sick but it wasn't her choice to make. It was fate.

Now she had another chance, another opportunity to at least give some hope to the world that she had lived in. Even if she had been a slave for most of her life, for her entire childhood, she could still try and give hope to those who now lived.. for the next generations... for the children that would come after her. Maybe even her own children.

A sigh escaped her lips and Hatsumono stood, crossing to the window to look out into the star-littered sky. The stars seemed to beckon to her, calling her to fight for what she believed in. She looked up into those stars and saw all the people that she had loved and lost... her father, her mother, Riyoko-san, her friends, fellow slaves, even those who had held her captive. Even though terrible things had come to pass for Hatsumono, she still felt the world was good... and it was her time to put some use to her life and make the world even better...

San Fransisco, Earth, May 07, 2806

Sa'val put ona jacket, the night air was cool tonight. She stoped at the door and reached into a cabnit and pulled out a phaser. She checked it, and put it on level two. This would actually knock someone out if they were shot with it. Not long, just enough for her to get away. Evenif there wasn't crime, she wouldn't go anywheres with out it. It made her feel safe. years of being a slave for the invaders, then for the people that took her for thier own sick pleasures, have made her paranoid. she sighed and placed the phaser under her jacket and went out. She puased her her door as someone walked by. She realized she had her breath held. She rolled her eyes and let it out. Damn it Sa'Val, your going to make your self nuts... She closed and locked the door and made her way down the hallway towards the elevator, wait...or was it a turbolift? Sa'Val shook her head to her self. Lift, thats what she'll call them now. She steped in and pressed the button for the first floor, where the main entrance to the building was. She was thinking over the mission, and the names of her senior staff. Ones she didn't already know, she met. Ones she had to meet, she was visiting often to get to know. She sighed again, she wondered how her friend, Kortal was doing. She hadn't seen him in a few days, him and other... Klingons was it? were off on some sort of camping trip, trading what little stories they knew of their heritage. The lift stoped on the ground level, and the doors opened. She steped out and looked around the lobby of the building. She took a step towards the door when she heard a clatteer. Her head spun to the left, and she saw it was just a woman with a child, one that looked about 2 or 3. The woman was letting the child walk, or rather stuble around as she read. Sa'val smiled slightly before continuing on her way. She went out the front doors onto the side walk of the california may night. She started walking towards the right, her hands in her coat pocket as she walked. Hatsumono Meiji, interesting person. I wish someone could give her answers about who she is, where she came from. Sa'Val sighed. Even these humans, natives to the planet in the first place, didn't know much about thier heritage. Sa'Val, a Vulcan, definitly didnt know much, but she had been to the planet Vulcan, she was able to learn what she didn't on earth. She honed her mind meld skills, worked on the ways of Vulcan Martial arts. She was given copies on Vulcan literature, and several differnt medical text that was recovered on the planet. It was interesting to her, she had a rough appearnce to a human externaly, save for her ears, and arched eyebrows. Internally was another story, her heart for example, it was where in a human, the liver would be. Her blood was green when oxygenated, and copper when not. Human blood was red. Just more of a differce she supposed.

San Francisco, Earth, May 07, 2806

Selma looked out over the vast city of San Francisco in what was once called "California". The Trill sat on an old beach chair, peering out over the railing of her balcony, high up on the thirty-fourth floor of her apartment building. In the young Trill's hands, she held a pair of binoculars. Every few seconds or so, Selma would raise the binoculars to her eye sockets, in order to get a better view of the actions going on down in the city.

With the binoculars, Selma could see people bustling about in the old, cracked roads and sidewalks. She could see huge buildings, which glinted in the sunlight of the setting sun. Many windows of these "skyscrapers" had been broken. Many cracks had been made in the stone of these buildings. Those old decrepit buildings dotted the landscape, some of them even blocking out the sun, above. The old Earth city didn't look the same. It looked different, now. Better. It was the same city that it was hundreds of years ago, yes, but...things were differnt, now. Now that those aliens were gone, people could feel safe walking the streets. People could live their daily lives without fear of the Slave Masters and their kin.

"Can they?" said a soft voice in the back of Selma's head. Her sub-conscious, maybe? "Just because those aliens are gone doesn't mean that they won't come back. We will just have to wait...wait and see if they come back. If they do, we will have to be ready for them. We can't fall to them, like we did last time. I will never live as a slave to those...things...ever, again. I am a free woman and I want to stay that way." continued the soft voice. Selma sighed. The voice was right. This "Alliance" or whatever you want to call it, won't last for long. The Alliance will fall. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But, someday, this Alliance will fall. And, when it does, the aliens will come back and they it will start all over, again. This is why Earth had to be ready.

Selma shook her head, almost smiling, as she set the binoculars back down, onto her lap.

"That's no way to think. I should have faith in the Alliance. If this Alliance is to thrive, I should be supporting it. We fought hard for this and we can't lose it so easily. I...we...have to have faith."

Selma sighed and shrugged her shoulders before she stood up from the plastic chair and stretched. She set the binoculars, which hung from a strap around her neck, onto a small white plastic table next to the chair before she turned around and headed back into her apartment room, via the glass sliding door.

Back in her dark apartment room, Selma walked across the old, fuzzy carpeted floor, into the bathroom. In the bathroom, Selma turned on the old rusty faucets of the ceramic bathtub, allowing it to fill with hot water.

She stripped down to nothing, revealing the brown spots that ran down the side of her face down her sides all the way to the her toes. The marks of a Trill. Selma didn't know that, though. She knew nothing about her own culture. This is why she wanted to join Starfleet. To explore. To see new things. To learn about the galaxy. Her ultimate goal was to learn about her own culture. Her parents had told her stories when she was younger about something called a "symbiont". They had never explained exactly what the "symbiont" was, but, they had said that "symbiont's" were very important to her and her people. "Trill", is what her father had called her race. By now, Selma had forgotten most of the stories, but, she would never forget those two words; "symbiont" and "Trill" to whatever significance they carried. And, one day, she planned on finding out what those words meant. Even if it takes her all of her life.

As the bathtub filled with water, Selma, whose old ratty clothes lay in a pile next to the toilet, thought about the coming day. Her first day aboard the SSV Discovery-01, her first starship.

"I just need to relax my nerves, is all." Selma thought to herself, with a nervous smile. "I have a big day coming up soon..."

As she thought, the bathtub began to overflow. Selma jumped up and turned off the water, before any more water could spill over onto the tiled floor. She used a fuzzy green towel to mop up the water, before she cast the towel back over into the pile of her clothes.

With the bathtub filled, Selma stepped over the edge of the tub and lay down into the clear water. She lay down in the water, resting her head on the back of the tub, the warm water soothing her sore and shaking body. Within seconds, Selma had drifted into a peaceful sleep, dreaming of the exciting adventures that she was soon to embark on...

Sa'Val walked down the street, turning left and crossing another street. She was getting closer to her destination. There were more people around, which made her slightly tense. She reminded her self that she had the phaser under her jacket. She heard a noise behind her. She turned her head to look and saw nothing. Stop being so paranoid, Sa'Val she scolded her self. She resumed walking. Almost to the building where her first officer lived. She sighed, she regerted not getting to know her much before now, and hoped she wouldnt be intruding when she droped by, but with two days before the ship launches, she wanted to get to know everyone. Sa'Val made it to the other side of the street and started walking down the sidewalk. The system was in need of work. It was barly there now, the aliens allowed it to be patched every so often, it showed. She stopped at the main enterance to the building, wondering if she should wait untill morning...

Hatsumono was just heading down the stairs to check on something when she saw a woman standing outside the door. She walked over to the door and opened it gently.

"May I help you?" She asked.

Sa'Val jumped slightly at the voice. She spoke. "Uh... yes, I'm looking for uh..." Sa'Val looked at a piece of paper. She knew names and faces, but still at times forgot. besides, 79 other names and faces to remember... "Hatsumono Meiji"

About half-an-hour later, Selma sat on the edge of her old, uncomfortable cot that served as her bed, her hands clasped together, her eyes looking down onto the white, fuzzy, carpeted floor. She was deep in thought, thinking about the big day; the maiden voyage of the SSV Discover-01.

Selma was now wearing a dull grey tank-top and a matching pair of underwear. She was a little cold, but, she didn't mind. The apartment didn't have a good heating system, but, Selma had learned how to adapt. Besides, this apartment was all that she could get at the moment. Quality homes were hard to find and even harder to attain. She had decided on this run-down apartment building, for now. She only picked this place because it was in San Francisco, the Head Quarters of Starfleet. She wanted to be where the action was.

Selma was a thrill-seeker. No wonder she had lead the revolt out in Detroit, where her old labor camp had been. She had to be on top of things all the time. No wonder she became an Operations Officer. The Chief Operations Officer of the SSV Discovery-01, in fact. Selma was very proud of her position. However, deep down, she was a little nervous and anxious. This would be the first time that she had ever flown in a starship. She had all of the necessary experience. She had gone through the training. She had gone through the simulations and exercises. She knew what she was doing. However, everything would change when she was up there. In space.

Selma sighed, heavily, before standing up, rubbing her hands together for warmth. She hugged her shoulders together, to warm up her bare shoulders. After she was warmed up, Selma shuffled her feet over to her kitchen, if you could call it that.

At the sink, Selma poured herself a glass of water, which she downed in one gulp. Life might not be luxurious at the time being, but, it was a hell of a lot better than life as a slave. She was just glad that she was free. How she wished that her parents were alive to see the world now. To be free...to see how their daughter had grown into the strong, mature woman that she was now. A Starfleet officer. How they would be proud. Back when she was little, they had told her stories of Starfleet. Now, Selma was a part of the prestigious group of brave men and women, herself. She swelled with pride at the thought.

"I need to take a walk." Selma thought to herself. Even after her bath, Selma was still anxious. A walk would be able to calm her nerves down. She always took a walk when she was nervous. Just walking along the empty streets helped her clear her thoughts. Sometimes she met new people, which could lighten the mood. A nice, long walk had always helped her feel better.

Selma placed the now-empty glass of water into the sink before turning around and walking back over to her bed. At the foot of her bed, stood her old wooden dresser. She opened up the bottom-drawer, where she pulled out a loose pair of black sweat pants. She pulled the pants on, along with a pair of socks and a pair of leather boots. Lastly, she pulled on a snug leather jacket.

Just as she was about to leave her apartment, Selma tossed her sole pillow off of her bed, revealing a hand phaser.

"Just for protection...you can never be too sure nowadays..." came the soft voice, in the back of her mind. Selma nodded and gulped before she picked up the phaser and jammed it into the waist band of her sweat pants, for easy access.

Now fully-clothed and prepared, Selma turned around, opened her old, wooden apartment door, and walked out onto the staircase in the center of the apartment complex. She turned around and locked her apartment door, with a small bronze key, which she thrust back into her jacket pocket after the door had been securely locked.

Selma quickly walked down the velvet staircase, down the thirty-floor floors, down onto the landing floor. On the bottom floor, Selma brushed past two women; a Vulcan and an Asian Human, before exiting the apartment building via an old wooden door with peeling green paint, out into the brisk night air.

Had both of those women looked familiar? Selma just shrugged and looked up into the stars above, standing on the stool of the aparment building.

Hatsumono nodded.

"That would be me. Please come in." She motioned for the woman to enter.

Sa'Val nodded. "Thank you. I hope I'm not intruding..." Sa'Val looked around. This building used to be a rather large grouping of slaves, it was obvius that it wasn't cared for over the years, and the city had not yet been able to fix it. "We met a few day's ago, at the breifing,..." Sa'Val puased and looked at someone who went by. the face was familar... she continued. "I'm uh...I guess I'm your captain."

Hatsumono nodded and smiled quickly.

"Oh, yes ma'am. I apologize, I didn't recognize you in the lighting." She motioned towards the stairs. "Do you want something to drink?"

Sa'Val smiled. "It's ok... the lighting did the same to me." She huffed away some nerviousness. "Oh, uh...yes please. what ever your having will be fine." Sa'Val took in the appearnce of Hatsumono, memorizing the name, with the face.

Hatsumono led her captain up the stairs to her small apartment.

"Please pardon the size, Captain. This is just where, uh, I settled down." she smiled and went over to the counter where she got out two glasses. "I have some vintage red wine, if you'd like some, Captain."

Sa'Val nodded. "That's fine, I haven't tried that actually" Sa'Val looked around. The apartment seemed...cozy. She noticed a shrine type of thing in a corner. What was it? It was a beautiful sight. She unziped her jacket and took it off, causing the phaser to fall. Sa'Val blushed as she bent down to pick it up. "Sorry" she mumbled.

Hatsumono smiled gently and shook her head.

"Not a problem, ma'am." She came over with two crystal glasses with a red liquid in them. "PLease, take a seat." She motioned towards a small table she had set up. "Drink, please."

Sa'Val sat down. The cushion was comfortible. She took a sip of the wine, the taste was pleasent. "I thought perhaps we could get to know one another, before the ship luanched and such." She started at the glass for a moment. "You can call me Sa'Val...we're not in uniform.." Sa'Val smiled slightly. She folded the jacket and had tucked the phaser under it. She sighed, having to carry it around felt weird, what with everyone at one point having a similar goal. Freedom. But with crime and her past, she wasn't about to take any chances.

Hatsumono nodded.

"Very well, Sa'Val. And Yes, I agree we should get to know each other a little before we leave." She smiled. "I saw you looking at hte shrine." She motioned towards the corner. "I'm Buddhist... in a sense. Not really but I guess I felt it was a good time to pray... before I left that is."

Sa'Val nodded. "It's beautiful..." She glanced at it again. "I don't think Vulcans have a 'religion' of the sorts, I can't find any refernces to it..." She sighed sadly. Not much was known about the heritage of Vulcans. She smiled at her new first officer. "I've read reports on your life, but I would like to hear in your own words about things...you know what ever it is you want to say.."

Hatsumono thought a few moments before responding.

"Well, I think you should know that I've never been to space before. I was supposed to go but I fell ill right before we were supposed to leave so I never got to space." She paused a few moments, thoughtfully. "I'm open to new experiences. I find diversity in crew very important. That's why I'm excited about this trip. I mean, you're Vulcan and I'm human. I find it a learning experience." She smiled gently.

Sa'val nodded. She had read a refernce to her getting sick. Poor girl. "We also have a Klingon, and a Trill, on our senior staff." Sa'Val smiled gently and took another sip of the wine. She set the glass down and fumbled with her hands.

Hatsumono smiled and nodded.

"That's very interesting indeed." She took a sip from her glass and motioned to Sa'val's. "Do you enjoy this drink?"
