Dukat did like Kira and was always insinuating things. He had a thing for Bajorans. Also Kiras mother was his lover so i guess he saw a bit of her in Kira.

Kira however, hated him. To her, he was just a cold blooded murderer.

Before I really knew Dukat, I actually thought Kira wasn't right in denying him. He seemed to sincerely love her. And I think he did... but he was a very twisted man. Just a little too twisted. If he'd been just a hair nicer, I would've liked to see him and Kira in a relationship. But that's me... I'm a fan of tragically matched relationships (in stories).

There were times were a mutual respect was PERHAPS there. I think it would depend on how you want to look at it. Ultimatly, we know that Dukat was a bad man, so there wasn't much of a chance sadly.

I thought that the writing in the Kira/Dukat scenes was very well put together. While some believe that Kira may have been repressing feelings or had respect for Dukat in some way, I think that if you look at it closely, especially in "Indiscretion", "Return to Grace" and "A Time to Stand" among others, Kira clearly withstands Dukat's continued attempts to impress her. I don't think that she ever dropped her guard to Dukat or allowed herself to see anything other than Dukat's true manipulative nature. The simple fact was that both characters were compelling contrasts of styles and personalities and both actors were up to the challange of playing such complex roles.

I agree with Exalya, I do think Dukat realy did love her...but he was FAR to twisted for Kira to be interested ...

When Dukat had that surgery to become a Bajoran I would have injoyed seeing him try to manipulate Kira instead of the Kai....but the story ended up working out for the best...but it would have been interesting to see...

Yeah, Dukat was an interesting character. He was pretty twisted though at times. I can understand of course why she hated him or really tried hard to at least. Sometimes he kind of creeped me out. But I thought the actor that played him was pretty good at it.
