PostTue May 02, 2006 5:01 pm    Star Trek: Quest of the Prophets [Discussion]

COMING SOON TO STV

Now, I bet many of you (or at least a few of you) are wondering...

"Are you going to abandon 'Night Squad'?"

The answer to this question is NO...for now. As you can see, this is only a "DISCUSSION" thread, where we can discuss the idea, until either a. I have earned the right to make two RPGs OR b. I decide to close "Night Squad" and start "Quest of the Prophets" (vice-versa).

Now, I bet many of you are wondering...just what IS "Quest of the Prophets"? Well, in a few simple words, it is this...

A sequel to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, starring your favorite African-American (and bald!) Captain and Commander, Benjamin Lafayette Sisko, along with those other DS9 characters that you have come to know and love. Don't worry, there will be new characters, too, along with a new, innovative plot. A sequel to the best Star Trek show to date? How can you say no?

BRIEF PLOT OVERVIEW

Here is a basic overview of the plot...

The story takes place two years after the end of the Dominion War. Benjamin Sisko returns from the Celestial Temple, Home of the Prophets, in the Bajoran Wormhole. Soon afterward, in large part, due to Sisko's return, Bajor becomes part of the Federation. However, days after Bajor becomes a planet of the Federation, all hell breaks loose, both on the planet and in the surrounding area. The radical Pah-Wraith Cult, using the planet's current state of peace to their advantage, begin riots on the planets surface. The Cult manages to take control of several Bajoran cities, including the capitol, Darfur. Bajor is in shambles after the riots and attacks. No one is sure of their motives, but, many believe that it has to do with Benjamin Sisko's return and an ancient prophecy of old. Meanwhile, a rogue group of Starfleet officers, mainly officers who served in the Dominion War and had lost everything, create the Union, a group of Federation radicals who demand better compensation for their losses in the war among other things or they will secede, taking with them, Federation technology. In order to get their point across, they blockade the planet of Bajor and take over the station of Deep Space Nine. Sisko and company must embark on a quest to fix the problems on Bajor!

Yes, all of those important characters will be NPCs. People will create their own characters. Some characters, such as Worf, will only make minor appearances. Others, like Sisko, would have more major roles.

Jadzia and Dukat? You will see...

Thanks for the comment, Founder.

As I said...I think I have a way to bring Odo back later on...much later on...

Thanks, again.

Yep...this is my pride and joy. That Plot Overview up there, in my first post, doesn't give the idea justice. There are at least six subplots, besides the main plot, all going on at the same time...just like DS9!

When I actually make the REAL thread (whenever I can make two...*sigh*. That might take a while...), I will explain the WHOLE story in DETAIL. Oh! I should mention that Founder helped me with the idea, too. Who else to ask for help about a DS9 RPG than Founder, the biggest DS9 fan on the site?

This one is gonna be packed with political intrigue and lots 'o action and whatnot...plus...Bajorans! I love Bajorans...

How true...

What does VOY have over DS9? Nothing, 'cept a dude named Neelix and that isn't anything special...DS9 has a swindling Ferengi bartender named Quark! His name...is Quark!!! What is better than that...nothing...nothing at all...

Hell yeah! The Jem'Hadar are the best villains ever. Much better than (in VOY, at least) those sissy Borg! I mean, the Borg were scary and interesting in TNG and FC...but...in VOY, the Borg were made into...good guys almost, with Seven of Nine and all...Borg children!?! Your kiddin' me, right?

Geez...

If only this site was called "www.startrekds9.com"...yet...as you said...there aren't that many DS9 fans...

DAMN YOU, VOYAGER!!! SISKO SHOULD HAVE DESTROYED YOU WHEN HE HAD THE CHANCE!!! YARGH!!!

I couldn't agree with you more. A part of the reason I made DSG, a station RPG no less, was because I felt all the RPGs here, well a lot of them not all, tried too hard to be a VOY RPG. I was like "Where are the DS9 ones?"

and that could quiet possibly be why DSG is such a success...because its a change from the

"VOY IS 733t!!" rpgs...

DSG is awesome! Thank DS9 for that, eh?

Yeah...I had VOY in mind when I made this RPG...

That was a joke! What do you think I had in mind when I made this? DS9, of course! It is a sequel to the original series! Maybe more of a DS9 movie...can't say for sure, really...

Hooray!

Its the Rugrats: TOS version. Come on Kirky! Lets go have some fun!!!

Just joking...yeah...TOS is over and some people need to accept that. It had SIX movies and a three-year T.V. run...its dead! Let it die in peace!

I wish we could have a DS9 movie...I doubt it, though...DS9 is the one that needs a movie, though! Why don't people understand that?!?

*sigh*

Whatever...we can still hope, right?

This reminds me of something I did today...watched "American History X" with Avery Brooks and Jennifer Lien (Sisko on DS9 and Kes on VOY)...good movie. Brought up some interesting points about racism and the like....great move, actually...I loved it. Such a sad ending...

I watched that movie. It was mind blowing.....

As for this RPG, did you say we will be Bajoran militia or Starfleet officers? Cause I know you want it to be on a Bajoran ship, so it might be cool to be the militia. I even have ranks for that.

Yeah...that movie was awesome.

I am leaning towards the Bajoran Militia, but, I could just mix it, with both Starfleet and the Bajorans, but, have the majority of the group be Bajorans.

Yeah, its gonna be a Bajoran ship. The ship wouldn't come in for a while, though. A change of pace, y'know?

Im getting more and more interested in this RPG by the post

It sounds like fun being Bajoran Militia...but that also resticts us to being Bajorans...

What's wrong with being Bajorans?!? Bajorans are the best!

Heh...no problem. You don't have to be a Bajoran. I can have the group be a mixed group.

Just so y'all know, You have a big DS9 fan right here. I mean VOY is alright, DS9's got: Cardasians, Vulcans, Jem'Hadar, Klingons, and even Changelings like Odo. Why wasn't this site called www.Startrekds9.com
