In this season 1 episode, Kira comes face to face with her hatred for Cardassians, and that hatred is tested when she meets a Cardassian who claims to be one of the most sinister and violent figures of the Bajoran Occupation. This man, played by Hollywood veteran Harris Ulin, turns out to be someone very different from who he claims to be, making for one of DS9's most well acted and well written episodes.
I was just wondering if anyone here had an opinion on this episode.

I really liked that episode, the guy turned out to be a clerk that did paperwork during the occupation.
Nana is a top actress as well as Harris Ulin in that episode! It sounds like they based the war on hitlers reign of terror. It really made me feel sad for all the people that suffered in the wars!

It is one of my favorite episodes in the first season.
Yes, the description given about the Galitep Labor Camp was similiar to that of Hitler's Concentration Camps. I assume that was the intention. It was rather depressing to see Marritza be *gasp* killed at the end! Plus, it really delved into Kira's (along with the rest of the Bajorans aboard) recovery that Kai Opaka was talking about in Battle Lines. The fact that she had to begin to adapt and forgive and whatnot...y'know?
Overall, a great episode.

This episode was increadible.
Gul Darheel was portrayed brilliantly as a sadistic Cardassian stuck in the old cardassian ways...he even allowed himself to be found out just so he could see the horror on Kira's face....
