STAR TREK

NIGHT SQUAD

A RPG by La Forge, Founder, and Lord Borg

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The year is 2380, one year after the Shinzon Incident involving the USS Enterprise-E and the Romulans.

The Federation is still reeling from the Dominion War. The reconstruction of the Alpha Quadrant is still in progress. The three major powers: the United Federation of Planets, the Romulan Star Empire, and the Imperial Klingon Empire, have decided to put aside any rivalries for the time being, during the reconstruction. An uneasy truce is in the works. No side dares break that truce, with the risk of war above their heads.

Each side watches, to see who will be the first to break the truce. So far, nothing has happened...but trouble is brewing in the depths of the galaxy...

Because of the tension enveloping the Alpha Quadrant, Starfleet has set up a new, elite, covert squad of cadets, to patrol the Alpha Quadrant. This squad is known simply as "NIGHT SQUAD", consisting of Starfleet Academy's best. Starfleet hopes, that with the proper training, these cadets will be the future leaders of the Federation.

-------------------------------------------------------------

You will serve as a member of Night Squad, the new, elite, covert squad of cadets, assigned to patrol and defend the Alpha Quadrant.

RULES (by Founder)

General Rules:

1) Do not spam. Which includes multiple posts back to back. No OOC only posts. If you make an OOC comment, you must include a post IC. Even if it is a small one.
2) Please be active. I understand if you get busy or have personal problems. Just tell me you can't post for the moment. You don't even have to tell me what the reason is. If you don't post at least once a week, I'll be forced to drop you a color. (See bottom for colors)
3) Be nice to each other. If you have a problem with another poster for some reason, tell me and I'll try and handle it.
4) Try and read the posts. I can understand if you don't want to sift through an essay of a post. If you don't want to, don't guess. PM me and I will give you a detailed summary of what has happened. I would rather avoid someone posting a post that makes no sense and contradicts other posts and then me having to tell them to edit. I honestly do not mind giving summaries.
5) If you want to post a picture of a certain action taking place, for example a Federation fleet is dropping out of warp, then please no animation pictures or a HUGE picture. If you use photobucket, which we are supposed to be doing, resize it to be smaller, please. Not everyone can handle the animations and huge pictures.
6) Please do not use asteriks to define action. For example *Runs to the turbolift*. Just put "(Insert character name) runs to the turbolift."
7) Please use quotation marks when someone is speaking. It is a lot easier to differentiate thought from speaking if you use quotation marks. It doesn't need to be perfect English or anything, just something easy for everyone to read. When you post, try and consider if the other posters can make sense of it.
8) Please use italics for telepathy and non-face-to-face communications. Including combadge use. Please no more of the =/\= stuff. Thoughts should be depicted by the underline symbol.
9) Do not use emoticons please. Not that anyone should need it...
10) Please refrain from making one liner posts such as "Aye sir." and thats it. I'm not asking for a huge paragraph, but try and write "Aye sir". (Insert character name here) goes to the station and carries out the order.
11) Please post this before posting anything else -Location, specific spot-. For example, -USS Gaia, Bridge-
12) IMPORTANT RULE: No God-modding. Do not control other characters unless the said character has given permission to do so. Do not make your character extremely powerful. Everyone, including mine, must have a weakness.

GREEN = Posts regularly / New Member.
YELLOW = Posts semi-regularly.
RED = Inactive, and maybe removed.
BLUE = Excused from posting

Played By: Founder
Name: Ahmad Fadi Al-Firdos
Rank: Fourth-Year Cadet
Position: Group Leader
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Bio: Ahmad was born in the middle east on 2356. Ahmad takes pride in the fact that a member of his family had always served on the Federation flagship, starting with the Enterprise NX-01 all the way to Enterprise-E. He is fluent in Arabic, French, and English. Ahmad is very pro-Federation and he doesn't let anyone forget it. He has gotten in trouble in the past with non-Federation members for it. Ahmad was brilliant and passed the entrance exams for Starfleet with near perfect scores. He was in the academy during the Borg attacks and the Dominion War. He barely survived when the Breen attacked San Francisco. Revenge clouded his mind for a long time after and still does. Ahmad specialized in command and worked hard for that future position. He was noticed by Starfleet brass and approached to join the Night Squad, an elite group of Starfleet cadets who excelled above all others. Ahmad was given the position of team leader alongside another officer, Jennifer Maska. The squad was assigned to a starship and Ahmad eagerly could not wait to get started. He showed impressive leadership qualities and looked forward to the day when he would gain command of a Federation flagship.

Played By: La Forge
Name: Jennifer Maska
Rank: Fourth-Year Cadet
Position: Group Leader
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Species: Betazoid
Bio: Jennifer Maska was born on Betazed in 2356. Jennifer lived on Betazed, with her parents, Raoul Maska and Liliane Maska, until she was at the age of twelve. In 2368, a Federation starship, known as the USS Enterprise-D, came to Betazed. Jennifer, who longed to join Starfleet, asked her parents to allow her to go on the ship, back to Earth. Her parents reluctantly accepted. During her stay aboard the Enterprise, Jennifer befriened a fellow Betazoid aboard the Enterprise, the ship's counselor, Deanna Troi. Troi encouraged Jennifer to do her best at the Academy, if she made it. Also, Troi helped Jennifer hone her "telepathic" powers. The Enterprise stopped off at Rigel IV, in the year of 2372, four years later, where one of the "Starfleet Academy Entrance Exams" was to be held. Jennifer disembarked the Enterprise, in order to take these tests. Jennifer passed with flying colors, including the feared "psych test", at the age of sixteen, beating out those older than her. Jennifer was then taken to Earth, aboard a different vessel, to the Academy. There, several scientists from the Daystrom Institute studied her, to find that she had amazing telepathic strength. Jennifer was forced to remain at the Daystrom Institute for several years, while scientists did tests on her. They found that Jennifer was one of the most potent telepaths ever in history. Unlike most other Betazoids who had such power, Jennifer managed to contain and control her powers. Jennifer was truly the first of her kind. With reluctance, the scientists finally allowed Jennifer to leave the lab, for the Academy, when she was 20, seeing as Jennifer demanded to leave, not wanting to spend the rest of her life in a lab. At the Academy, Jennifer excelled in her studies. She specialized in Command and longed to be able to have her own starship one day. Jennifer wished that she could have her own ship, like the Enterprise. Jennifer also specialized in other courses at the Academy. Jennifer took Klingon classes, where she learned how to speak Klingon and wield a bat'leth (which she brings with her on field missions). Jennifer also specialized in History and dabbled in Engineering. While she was a Third-Year Cadet, Betazed was invaded by the Dominion. Jennifer was told that her parents were killed in the invasion. Jennifer went into a slump for several weeks, not doing her schoolwork, failing tests, and locking herself away in her room for hours at a time. After several of her teachers talked to her and a visit by an old friend, Deanna Troi, Jennifer went back to normal. However, soon afterwards, San Francisco was attacked. Jennifer, luckily, was on a field mission to Andoria, at the time, but, the effects were still the same. When Jennifer came back, she found her dormitory and all of her personal belongings gone. Many of her friends had been killed in the attack. All of this contributed to Jennifer's deep-seeded hatred of the Dominion. With a newfound strength, Jennifer helped to rebuild the Academy. During the reconstruction, Jennifer was asked to join an elite squad of cadets, known as "Night Squad". Intrigued, Jennifer accepted. She was made the leader of the group, along with another Fourth-Year Cadet, Ahmad Fadi Al-Firdos. Jennifer was angry that she had to share command, but, she didn't show it. Jennifer is a smart young woman, who is qualified in many different fields. However, Jennifer can definitely turn into a "party girl", with a wild side. However, when it comes to tough situations, Jennifer can get the job done.

At age nine, Setra started training in Vulcan Martial Arts, along with various earth forms. In 2378, at age 15, Setra Enrolled in Starfleet academy. She started taking engineering courses. Thanks to her parents education, she already had a head start, which combined with her Vulcan mind, was one of the top students in some over her classes. She was also good at the academy survival courses, and combat training, thanks to some of her earlier training. Setra continued to get good grades, despite being some what quiet and kept to her self. Starfleet Headquarters, San Francisco, Earth: 2100 Hours April 19, 2381

Admiral Henry Gagner stood facing the grand viewport in the Conference Room on the highest level of Starfleet Headquarters, with his hands clasped together behind him.

Gagner looked out of the viewport, out over the grand city of San Francisco and the rest of Starfleet Headquarters below. A little ways off, he could see the Golden Gate Bridge, which had just been reconstructed. The once-great city just didn't look the same anymore...not after the Breen attack. The city was devastated. Hundreds of thousands of people were killed and thousands of homes were destroyed. Starfleet Headquarters lay in ruins after the assault. Gagner, himself, lost his wife and three sons in the attack. If anyone should hate the Dominion and the Breen, it should be him. His eldest son had just been engaged, just days before the attack. Now, Gagner would never be able to see his son wed and have his own family. His family line had ended. He was now the last living Gagner. Not a comforting thought.

The stars above twinkled at Gagner, shining in the darkness of the black space above. Gagner thought that he could see a starship, fly off, above the city, hundreds of thousands of feet above, in the atmosphere. Gagner, himself, was once a Captain. But, that was many years ago.

Gagner turned around, to face the rest of the Admirals, who were seated around a long, wooden conference table. Gagner put on a weak smile.

"Hello, my fellow Admirals." Gagner began, addressing the other Admirals that sat around the long table. "As you all know, the Federation is weak. We have just braved a terrible war with the Dominion and survived two attacks from the Borg, yet, we are still standing. Reconstruction will take years. We will never be able to return to our former glory, after these recent instances." Gagner coughed, covering his mouth with a handerkerchief, which hung from his breast pocket. "Ahem! Excuse me!" Gagner coughed, covering his mouth. After a few seconds, Gagner's coughing fit subsided. Gagner shoved his handkerchief back into his pocket. He looked back up to the others. "I'm sorry. I have what the doctors call, a "cold"." Gagner explained, with a smile. "Back to what I was saying...After the war, the Federation, the Klingon Empire, and the Romulan Star Empire, all agreed to a truce: The Treaty of 2375...for the time being. We all watch to see who will be the first to break this truce. Well...I'm fed up with watching. I suggest we act!"

Gagner pulled out an electronic pad and pressed a button in the center. In the middle of the table, a blue, shimmering hologram appeared. The hologram was a depiction of a panther, above which, hovered the words "Night Squad". Gagner pointed to the hologram with his free hand.

"This! This is our future! A new, elite squad of Starfleet Academy's finest cadets! Night Squad!" Gagner announced, in a booming voice. "Night Squad will train these cadets to prepare them for the future. These cadets will be the Federation's future leaders! We need to train these cadets, in case a war should break out. If war occurs, these cadets would be ready. In the meantime, these cadets will travel the Alpha Quadrant, patrolling our territory, in search of any threat to the Federation. These cadets-Night Squad-is our future!" Gagner explained, slamming his fists onto the table, in excitement. "What do you think, my friends?" Gagner exclaimed, breathing rapidly.

Three Months Later...

Starfleet Academy, San Francisco, Earth: 2030 Hours July 30, 2381

Jennifer Maska sat in a ceramic bathtub, in the spacious bathroom of her Dormitory, at Starfleet Academy. The bathtub was filled to the brim with bubbles, some of which were floating above her head, like clear snowflakes. Jennifer's long, dark, red hair was hanging over the side of the bathtub, soaked with water and filled with shiny bubbles. Her long, bare legs, hung over the edges of the edge of the bathtub. Occasionally, her bare foot would bounce and shake, in rhythm with the loud music that could be heard from her adjoining bedroom.

From the open door, which led to her bedroom, Jennifer had music playing. The music was old Earth music, from the 1900's. The song that was playing was from a long-gone genre of music called "Rock & Roll". The song that played was called "Magic Carpet Ride", a song performed by a human music group called "Steppenwolf", in 1968. Jennifer was bobbing her head, along with the music.

I like to dream yes, yes, right between my sound machine
On a cloud of sound I drift in the night
Any place it goes is right
Goes far, flies near, to the stars away from here
Well, you don't know what we can find
Why don't you come with me little girl
On a magic carpet ride
You don't know what we can see
Why don't you tell your dreams to me
Fantasy will set you free
Close your eyes girl
Look inside girl
Let the sound take you away

-Came the blaring music. The loud music was echoing throughout the room and shaking the furniture. Jennifer loved this old Earth music. As one man had once said:

"Rock and Roll was one of the 20th century's greatest inventions."

Suddenly, Jennifer could here a buzzer and a knock at the door.

Jennifer looked over at the open door, with both a puzzled and aggravated look on her face. Who would want to talk to her at such a late hour?

"Who the hell would want to talk to me at ten thirty at night?" Jennifer thought to herself, as she shifted her position in the bathtub. "Just when I was about to relax."

Jennifer looked up to the ceiling.

"Computer!" Jennifer snapped at the Computer. "Shut off that damned music!" As she said that, the loud rock & roll music was silenced.

After the music was shut off, Jennifer could here another buzz and another knock at the door.

"Hold your horses!" Jennifer shouted, as she lifted herself out of the tub, onto the tiled floor below. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" Jennifer sighed, as she drained the water from the bathtub. "Geez..." Jennifer walked over to a towel rack and pulled down a fuzzy green towel. She wrapped the towel around her exposed body and walked out of her bathroom, into the adjoining bedroom.

Jennifer briskly strode across the carpeted bedroom, over to the front door. Just as she arrived at the door, came another buzz and another knock.

Jennifer, annoyed, pulled open her door, seconds after she heard the last knock.

"Yes?" Jennifer asked, impatiently. Outside, stood two men, dressed in black suits.

"May we come in?" One of the men, the taller one, asked, his voice gruff and thick. "We're from Headquarters."

Jennifer, who was visibly shocked, quickly nodded, motioning for the men to enter.

"Oh! Yes! Of course!" Jennifer answered, a look of suprise on her face and her voice shaky. She pointed to a coffee table that was set up in the far corner of her room, her hand still pressed to her chest, keeping her towel in place. In this sort of situation, Jennifer felt rather "exposed", standing before these mysterious men only wearing a towel. "Would you like something to drink? A coffee, perhaps?" Jennifer asked, graciously.

One of the men, the smaller one, who wore a black, felt fedora, raised a gloved hand and shook his head.

"No. We're fine." the man said, in a squeeky voice. "We've come with a proposal for you...a proposal that could very well change your life."

Starfleet Academy, San Francisco, Earth: 1215 Hours July 31, 2381

It was a bright and sunny day, Cadets, Teachers, Visitors and the like were walking around on the grounds of Starfleet Academy. Near the water, was one of the cadets, a Human/Vulcan Female by the name of Setra. She was sitting with her legs over the ledge as she stared down at the water, watching the fishes swim around in a fury of activity. She let out a soft, quiet chuckle, or perhaps one could say it was an hmmp Setra had a slight smile on her face, as she watched the fishes swim. Marine Biology was one of her hobbies, something the Academy allowed her to exploit. Setra was roughly five feet, and seven inches tall, with long hair that went down past the shoulders. She would occasionally get scolded for not having her hair above her neck, but would rarely have it be so. Her hairstyle usually was in such away so that the tips of her ears would show. She had never bothered in the recent years to try to find a different hairstyle, despite the regulations applied by Starfleet. Setra had a PADD in her hand, and several next to her. The PADD in her hand was one of two PADDs for Marine Biology. The one she currently held was one she basically made, which contained only the information of the life forms of the earth sea that still existed. It saddened her that the list wasnt currently as large as it would have been several hundred years ago, extinction of countless species occurred though mostly hunting and other so called sports and industry. Setras other PADD was the one assigned by the class which contained information on the Earth species, and several other alien world marine life. The other PADDS were mostly for her engineering classes. Setra entered the engineering section of Starfleet Academy, because it was one of the few things that were a challenge. It was also the role of her mother when she died. Setra had a head start of the others thanks to her mother and father. Her mother thought her the engineering details that she could comprehend as an infant, which wasnt a lot sadly. Her mother died when she was still young, Setra was three or four. The Borg had invaded Federation space and Starfleet tried to defend earth in a last desperate attempt at Wolf 359. Her mother, Savals body was never found. Her father had taught her computers, the operations, skills at using them, and in a closely guarded secret, some of his skills as an agent of Starfleet Intelligence in data retrieval and other things. Setra was quite adapting at Vulcan martial arts and several human forms, she had begun training at age nine. She grew up on earth, in an emotional environment for the most part, so while she could do a Vulcan Mind Meld, and even meditate in Vulcan practice, she displayed many emotions, although at times, not as strongly as Humans would. Setra continued to watch the fishes swim, something she found rather soothing to do. A soft breeze blew across the campus, coming off the sea. She felt the cool wind wrap around her body in careful form, not disturbing much save for the grass and some of her hair. Setra heard a noise behind her, the sounds of a footstep, or rather footsteps. She also could smell cologne of some kind. She turned and looked behind her, raising a hand to shield her eyes. A voice spoke to her, the sunlight blocking out the face. SetraI have a proposition for you Setra, in a Vulcan habit, raised her left eyebrow in curiosity.

Starfleet Academy, San Francisco, Earth: 1312 Hours August 01, 2381

"My daughter you have become an inspiritation to our people in this tragic time." Dayanara's father said. "I know father, but miss you all terribly even mama. By the way, how is she?" Dayanara asked conserned. A couple weeks ago her father, who was Chief Quick Fox of the Cree Nation messaged her to tell that her mother was very ill. Dayanara was just glad that the Borg missed South Dakota all to gauther. She didn't know she would if something happened to them. Your mother is coming along just fine little one." Quick Fox said gently with a smile. "Thank you Great Spirit for sparing my people from this great tragty that as fallen among the Frederation." Dayanara thought as she prayed.

"Soaring Hawk I must go now, your mother needs me." Quick Fox said. "Very well father, I love you." Dayanara said. "And I you also." Quick Fox said as blinked out. Dayanara took the PADD that was on her desk and began to read. "You have an incoming message." The computers voice said. "Computer play message authourization Reed Alpha Troi." Dayanara said. When the code was given, a face popped up. "I see their still working you to the bone there cuz." The man said with a huge grin. "More than you did that's for dang sure, how's the Titain treating you Will." Daynara said with a grin of her own. "Just happy that I'm alive and Deanna to. Is your family all right? Did they survive the attack?" Captain William T. Riker asked his cousin. Dayanara laughed. "Will calm down. They're fine. Through this whole battle I prayed to the Great Spirit to spare them and he did." Dayanara said with smile. "Well I'm glad. Well cuz I'll have to cut this family reuion sort. A Captain's work is never done." Will said with a cocky grin. "Ok. Just don't let Dee work you to hard." Dayanara said with grin of her own. Will laughed out loud as he signed off.

Dayanara sat there for a minute. She really missed her big cousin. Now that he was a Captain now she hardly ever got to see execpt through Sub space messages. She went back to studying. She was getting right in to it when her door chimed. "Now who could that be?" Dayanara thought. When she pressed the button and her door slide open, there stood a man in a unform. "Dayanara..I have a prosition for you. If you let me in we can talk about it...?"

Ken's Home, San Francisco, Earth: 17:04 Hours August 01, 2381

Ken Uminaka sat in his home, the sun setting gently over a hill, the light filtering through the cloudy air as he took a drag off his cigarette. He let the cigarette dangle between his fingers lazily as he glanced out into the distance on the ocean which lay below his home, sparkling like diamonds across a black velvet expanse. A sigh escaped his lips.

It was nice being put up in San Francisco by his father, but it was also boring. No one came to visit. He was dragged from one location to another for social events. Yes, he had the money... Yes, he knew how to party hard... Yes, he had all the things a man his age should want... Money, home, women, alcohol, the best of everything.

Ken brushed a hand across the silken surface of his Armani pants and sighed heavily, taking another drag on his cigarette. He had everything he had not had in Tokyo, yet it seemed empty. He missed the work he did in Tokyo. He missed the ocean breeze in Tokyo.

Yes, there was an ocean in San Francisco, but the wind blew differently. The air smelled stale and unclean, nothing like the gentle breeze in Tokyo on the ocean front where he had stood as a younger man, watching the sun set.

A phone rang somewhere in the house. He sighed heavily and yelled over his shoulder:

"Jaa, Seita-san, *beep* (Well, Seita, pick it up!)"

He scowled. The hired help around his home was slower than anything he'd ever experienced.

Ken stood for a few moments, crossing to the glass-sliding doors that lead out onto a balcony. He stood there, the stale breeze blowing off the harbor and he sneered. He missed working... the life of luxury just wasn't his cup of tea.

~Starfleet Academy, San Francisco, Earth: 1400 Hours July 31, 2381~

"It's an amazeing oppertunity..." Setra had a slight smile as she stared down at a PADD. She was reading over the information given to her. Her back was to the bed, she was sitting on the floor. Thomas, her boyfriend was on the bed peering over her shoulders. He was rubing her ears, the upper parts of them, some what of a habbit he picked up. Setra was techniquly not supposed to show anyone but she knew Thomas would tell no one else. He spoke to her "Where is all this happining?" Setra shruged. "I'm not sure...I think we get assigned to a ship..." Thomas stoped what he was doing and sat up. She looked up quizzingly. "What?" Thomas stared down at her. "What? that's all you have to say?" She turned and faced him, she was now on her knees. "What do you mean?" He sighed and shook his head. "What about us? What about school?" She frowned slightly and replied. "Well, we're still us, and my schooling will continue." Thomas sat there with a cold stare. "How can we be us if you go off somewheres on your own?" She shot back. "Did you expect us to get the same assignments on graduation?" He shook his head and stood up. "I don't know if I can continue with someone that jumps the gun and takes of on the first ship that she gets the first posting..." Setra was taken a back, she fought to keep the tears from flowing. "You...you bastard. You are standing there telling me that it's over if I go?" Thomas looked at her, seemingly void of emotion. "What do you think?" Setra stood, her PADD in hand. "I...I'm leaving now..." She turned for the door Thomas reached out. "Where are you going." Setra was struggling to keep the tears in. "To think..." She turned and ran out the door, slaming it behind her. She ran all the way to her quarters, and went to her room and sat on the bed. Now that she was alone, she let the tears fall....

"My dear Dayanara, you are to be part of a new squad called 'Night Squad." When Dayanara agreed she thought that this would be the oppertunity to get her commishion. But now she was having second thoughts. "What am I to do?"Dayanara thought.

"Computer, open channel." Dayanara said. The cherp answered her. "Send a sub space message to Captain William T. Riker USS Titian authorisation Reed 23 Beta Tango." Dayanara said. Day sat there reading the PADD the uniform officer had given her.

"Captain Riker here." Will said as his face popped on the screen. Dayanara breathed a sigh of relife. "Oh Will am I glad to see you. I am confused I don't know who to turn." Day said as she started talking fast. "Whoa cuz, honey slow down and tell me from the first." Will said. And Day did. By the time she was finshed she was on the verge of tears. "Will what should do?" Day asked her cousin. "Honey, I think you should take it. This will help you prepare you for ship experience." Will told his cousin. "Will, thank you. You have helped make my descion." Day said with a smile. "Just be careful." Will said and blinked out.

Dayanara knew she had made the right descion. Dayanara was going to Join the Night Squad.

~Starfleet Academy, Setra's and roomates quarters, sleeping area~

The tears streamed down Setra's face as she stared at the PADD in her hands. She sniffled slightly as she glanced out the window, then back at the PADD. She was so conflicted on what to do, Night Squad presented a good chance, but..Thomas, she never met anyone like him...

Starfleet Academy, Setra's and Roomate's Quarters, Sleeping Area

Adriana sat up in bed and glanced over at Setra as she walked into the room and glanced out the window. There was an uneven silence before Adriana jumped off her bunk and headed over to Setra, pushing her short black hair out of her ice blue eyes.

"What's wrong?"

~Starfleet Academy, Setra's and Roomate's Quarters, Sleeping Area

Setra turned to face her roommate, third year so far, roomate. Her tears were flowing freely at the moment. "Everything..some things... all of it... I..." Setra sat down and sniffled again. "I was approched to join a team of the sorts...Thomas...he didn't take it to well...I think its...over between us.."

Adriana arched an eyebrow and scowled. She never liked relationships much and, for the most part, had sworn off of men period. She sat down next to Setra and put a strong hand on her shoulder.

"Setra, you can't let someone hold you back. Think of it this way... if he took it that hard, he's not worth having. You need someone who will support you."

Setra nodded. She let out a little huff and smiled slightly at her friends strong words. Setra laid her head in a friendly gesture on Adriana's shoulder. With a sigh, Setra continued. "I know, It's just that so much has happend in my life, Thomas, well besides you that is, Thomas offered stability...." Setra stared down at the PADD. "I'm going to miss you..."

Adriana smiled.

"I'll always be here if you need me. Even if you're hundreds of lightyears away. I'm sure we'll be able to keep in contact somehow."

-Academy, Syria-

All the way across the planet, Ahmad Fadi Al-Firdos was sitting in class. He was at an extended Starfleet academy in Syria. The campus was much smaller, but held the same facilities. A teacher, who also happened to be a Starfleet Lieutenant commander and chief of security, was teaching about combat procedures. A hologram of a large alien stood at the front of the class. He pointed to the neck.

"Here is where they are weakest," He said, "One solid hit to the neck, will cause them to back off."

Ahmad was bored to tears. He already knew about the weaknesses of this species. Then again, he knew a lot of stuff. Ahmad would always read way ahead of schedule. He had read all the PADDs for this class. The exams would not be difficult whatsoever. The class was finally over and the tall Middle Eastern male rose from his seat. He looked forward to going home and practicing tactical procedures. It would prepare him to pass the gifted exams on tactical, he had passed every other. This was the only one left. As he stepped out, he saw an older man waiting at the door. The man was Admiral Faris Al-Farik, a friend of his families.

"Al-salaamu alaykum." He greeted.

Ahmad bowed his head to his friend.

"Wa alayka al-salaam." He said, returning the greeting.

Farik walked alongside Ahmad.

"I have some good news for you my young friend." He said.

Setra smiled and looked at her friend. "I'm sure we will, after all, it is the 24th century." She looked down at the PADD. "I can't understand why they want me though..."

Adriana smirked.

"I can tell you that already. You're smart... you're young... that's the type of people they need."

Setra looked down slightly as she flushed, her cheeks turning a soft hue of red. "I'll tell Thomas to considar us done..." She stood and went to a drawer. "I want you, to have something..." She came back, it was a medallion of the sorts, it was clearly vulcan in design.

Adriana took the medallion and placed it in her hands, turning it over and over. She marveled at it and glanced up at Setra.

"Are you sure you want to part with this?"

Setra smiled back. She sighed and looked around, then back to the PADD. "Guess I knew that the Engineering classes would pay off...." She looked to Adriana. "I don't have to leave for a couple days. what do you say we go out? One last time, that is untill we meet again." Setra smiled again at her friend, nae, her sister Adriana was now a part of Setra's family...

"That sounds good. I could use a night out.. between studying for all these exams, my head is about to explode."

She laughed lightly and clasped the medallion to her chest.

Setra pulled Adrianna up. "Well? what are we waiting for, let's get ready!" Setra tossed the PADD aside, it landed on the Bed with a soft thud.
