Im not sure, but i don't think slipstreamdrive is faster than transwarp.

Quantum slipstream is NOT faster than transwarp... transwarp takes you anywhere INSTANTLY... that means if you can control it, then you can go anywhere in the universe as fast as you turn on the engine (of course accelerating is a good thing to do before transwarp...) A quantum slipstream-drive takes time to travel with, not by a FAR shot as fast as the transwarp...

You guys use the word Transwarp as though as it means "Warp 10". But, if I remember it well, that isn't true.
In the VOY ep. "Treshold", Paris activates the Transwarp drive. Then he's at the speed of 9.95 (?). So I think transwarp means: warp 9.95 - 10

The borg transwarp conduits are not instant as such. It took them at least a couple of minutes to travel the many thousands of lightyears.

Just read that article from allsystems. Slipstream is a complete rip off of quantum super string theory!

Look, Quatum Slipstream drive can travel 5LY a second. so what do you think is faster?

i am not sure but transwrap i guess is faster beacuse transwrap is bending time and space like a worm hole for slipstream its a really REALLY fast version of normal warp

Transwarp isn't instant. For example in VOY "Dark Frontier" u see the Delta Flyer and the Borg ships flying thru the transwarp conduit. That means it isnt instant. And did the borg already travel to other galaxies, which is possible with slipstream? No.

I'm fairly sure that "transwarp" as defined in Voyager isn't actually "warp." It's a different kind of FTL system with quicker speed, but requires massive hubs to operate and can only be used through certain "conduits." From how I've seen it used throughout TNG and VOY, I'm tempted to infer that the Borg use transwarp to travel galactic distances and regular warp to move about freely once they are in the general area they wish to be in.

ur right. the Borg use regular Warp 9.9 engines also.

And the weird thing is, in the ep 'Relativity' (where seven travels back through time) you see Janeway just arriving on Voyager for the very first time. She explains some things about the ship; that she's (voy) capable of a warpspeed up to 9.975...

it is capable of warp 9.975 but that only with maximum output, all other systems must be shut down for it.

no, it don't think they do, when they want too persuit a warp capable ship they use transwarp too get within range as fast as possible. when they explore they use it too, i don't think they have warp. But i guess they have it on board just in case the transwarp coils get destroyed.

Not true. However, it is a major power strain, and if the ship maintains that speed for too long it will simply destroy itself.

The Borg must have some alternative to transwarp as it is defined in the Voyager series. Otherwise they'd have to travel on impulse beyond their transwarp conduits, which is grossly impractical, even for the Borg.

Transwarp it's self is not instant, but transwarp-drive its probably more close to instant.

Yes the Borg are in the Gamma Quadrent, in the Voyager episode Unimatrix 0 Part 2, Seven of Nine is talking to Captain Janeway about the man that she apparantly loved inside Unimatrix 0, and that communications with him now would be impossible becuase he is aboard a cube in the Gamma Quadrent...

Actually, Axum was located in the Beta Quadrant. (Source)

There is no definitive evidence that the Borg are in the Gamma Quadrant, however, it would be reasonable to assume that they have at least penetrated its fringes.

Wait a minute, are u talkin about borg transwarp of WARP 10?

well, if yr talkin abt BTP then it is warp 9.9999 whereas SLIPSTREAM is at WARP 9.99999 i got this from a star trek guide book

The term used by the borg 'transwarp' in my view is just used as warp 9.9999 is very fast and in dark frontier janeway had to spend a few minutes in a transwarp conduit b4 gettin back 2 voyager.......but in hope & fear tuvok and tom travels 15LY in a matter of secs..........so which one are u talkin about
