sometimes?! What? There was only one time and that was in First Contact at the beginning because he was having a dream about the Borg and his past assimilation...

Yep...just flashbacks. Oh! When Picard was a Borg, he was known as Locutus. Just a fun fact...

Well as the others said, it was dreams/flashbacks. What you may or may not know is, during TNG series, he was assimilated by the Borg. The crew ended up saving him. So he was pretty much remembering his time as Borg. Maybe the dreams came because the Borg were in the system.

TNG = Star Trek: The Next Generation
TOS = Star Trek: The Original Series
DS9 = Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
VOY = Star Trek: Voyager
ENT = Star Trek: Enterprise

Just some fun facts...

I wouldn't say they were "communicating" with him, persay...I'd say he just "felt" their presence...I dunno for a fact, but that's just my best guess...like he could "sense" their presence or something...

But that's what I find kind of flawed...Seven was in the Collective for 18 years...and she couldn't "feel" or "sense" when the Borg were close...so how could Picard? Doesn't make sense to me...But oh well, still a GREAT movie...

I'm pretty sure there were VOY episodes where Seven felt the Borg. In fact, I remember it happening where she would warn VOY about it.

Please list the episodes...I don't recall any such episode where Seven could "sense" the Borg for Voyager...

And don't say "The Raven" because I just watched that episode today, as a matter of fact, and I knew anyway, but she "sensed" a homing beacon...so it wasn't a "sense" it was a beacon...big difference...

Well, Picars connection was greater, despite seven being a drone for longer. Picard was made one of the leaders of the collective, there are many, many hints to him hearing the borg in FC

Ya, it may have been deeper, but he wasn't quite a "leader." He was just a Human Counterpart, as he put it to the Queen in FC...So he wasn't quite assimilated...but at the same time, I don't quite see how that makes his connection "deeper." But that's just me...I'm biased to Seven having a deeper connection to the Borg than that of Picard, but at the same time I accept Picard having a "deeper" connection that Seven...

I hope I made sense...LOL

It was clearly mentioned that Picard had a deeper connection, he was a human speaker yes, but the queen wanted someone equal, hence a leader of the sorts. He DID lead the assult of Wolf 359, that was mentioned several times

Oh c'mon! You're asking the DS9 slave to give you VOY episodes?

Memory Alpha on Locutus wrote:
When the Borg attempted a second invasion in 2373 (See: Battle of Sector 001), Picard's experience with the Borg allowed him to pinpoint a weakness in the Borg defenses, allowing the fleet to destroy the invading vessel. It was later revealed that the Locutus was to have been more than a mere drone. The Borg Queen had intended for Picard to become her counterpart, an equal. (Star Trek: First Contact) Even Borg drones such as Hugh/Third of Five still recognized Picard as Locutus after his separation from the Collective. (TNG: "I, Borg", "Descent")

This proves what I was saying It was though Picards resistance and sheer will that this wasn't compleated (Well, and the Ent-D crew, but it was pretty much said Picard resisted before hand)

Your information is flawed, ever so slightly...

Quote:

It wasn't through his EXPERIENCE, but rather he HEARD them...I have read through most of the First Contact book, yes, canon because it's based off the movie...lol.......anyway, it actually has written what Picard heard from the Borg...I don't remember, but he heard them say they had like heavy damage in this system and to repair or something, and then he took advantage of that...

and I didn't say you were wrong...

Uh, ya, I expect you to...LOL...because I told you I can't recall her "Sensing" the Borg...but you said you have, so I expect you to prove it to me...LOL...

Well, actually, no the book isnt canon it has things not seen/heard/mentioned on screen. How ever the movie DID establish him hearing them, you are right on that part. Because he heard them, he was able to determine the most damaged part of the cube.

Oh! an VOY ep... the Queen came to seven in uh... Dark Frontiers (SP?) I can think of a couple others, but cannot recall the titles atm

Like I forgot to mention, I didn't make it very far in the books...just to where the Borg started to fire down on Montana and the Enterprise took them out...that's as far as I got...

But I would say it's safe to say that it was ordained greatly by Trek and the author worked closely with Trek on it...b/c if in the movie they had us actually hear what was said by the Borg, it would have lost its power of Picard hearing what they said...IMO anyways...

Yes, the Queen talks to Seven in "Dark Frontier" and "Endgame," but that's a DIRECT communication with her, not a SENSING or FEELING like Founder described...

Yes, that was one of the best likes in Trek! It sends chills down my spine everytime I see that episode, especially the first time when I was a little kid. I was like, "OMG! Captain Picard's a Borg!" And the my dad was like, "Yes, he is honey." First Contact is the best Star Trek movie in my opinion. I liked it even better than the Wrath of Khan.

But yes, "I am... Locutus... of Borg. Resistance is futile. Your life as it as been, is over. From this time forward, you will service... us."

Drone, Season 5, Episode 2. When the Ensign was "sampled" by the now assimilated science station, Seven sensed something (the scene cuts straight to her turning her head in shock), she later visits the bridge and informs Janeway that her "Proximity Node" has activated (which could indicate a borg presence nearby).

One could only assume that Picard too has one of these.

You just said that her "proximity node" was activated. That's a piece of Technology. Technology that is evident that Picard doesn't have. Therefore Seven didn't really "sense" the collective. She picked up a "signal" thereby detected by a piece of technology...
