Best Opening Tune?

Out of the 3 Star Treks (excluding ENT, because of vocals and the fact that the poll maker wouldn't allow me to add a 4th option for some reason), which one has the best opening tune?

TNG, DS9, or VOY?

Personally, I say The Next Generation...It is just so...dynamic and lively. Plus, Picard has a little monologue at the start.

The worst would definately be Voyager. I can't even remember it too well! It was rather forgetful.

I like TNG better. I dunno why its just kind of catchy and I like picards opening just before the music starts

Hated the Enterprise one, as it was so un-Trek, but I think the TNG theme is by far the best.

Honestly? People like VOY's? Voyager's opening tune was absolutely TERRIBLE!!! It was so unmemorable and boring!

I can remember it. I'd say that TNG's is the most boring. It's like the same thing over and over and over again. But it's just an opinion thing, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

I like all the themes though really, the one from Voyager, seems to repesent a Journy, while DS9 repesents a struggle, and TNG/TPS repesents the adventure

Enterprise Season 1 & 2 theme is the best. Also the mirror universe theme is tied for 1st place. lol. But out of TNG DS9 and VOY i would have to say TNG. DSG Season 4-7 is a close second though.

Sorry to disagree with the lot of you, but I have to say that Voyager's theme is the best. DS9 and TNG follow up closely.....and Enterprise is next, lastly TOS. I didn't TOS was Sci-Fi enough, too namby pamby....and Enterprise's theme upped its tempo toward the end making it sound too fast-paced. I liked it in the beginning of the series but not later on. Not at all.

Voyager = BEST

I like them all because they each represent the theme of the shows. But I do like TNG's a lot. That just reminds me so much of my childhood and my dad watching the show and the movies. I can listen to the theme over and over. But I do have the Star Trek: First Contact soundtrack and also have both Voyager's and DS9's themes on my computer. All themes have very strong resonance that are different that I like. But jeez, sometimes I do my own interpretive dance to TNG's theme every time that it comes on the TV. I'm just weird...and a dork.

Voyager...a sense of triumphancy (if that's even a word) is what I get from it. Then TNG...it's a Go-getter type of song... DS9 was just boring...didn't really describe of the show in my opinion...

I agree, Voyager was definitely the best. I just love listening to it as Voyager glides through space. I wish they'd agree to putting it on the speakers at the ice skating rink!

DS9 the most boring.

I like the theme tune and lyrics for Ent, but couldn't get to grips that it was a Trek theme, seemed odd when I sat to watch.

How exactly an opening theme "boring"? What a terrible word to describe an opening theme. Are you all saying that some are exciting....disturbing if thats what you find exciting.

DS9's was the most powerful.

I agree with Founder. While I like TNG's theme the best, I do think that DS9 had a better "message" in the tune. As I and others have said before, TOS/TNG's opening tune = adventure and VOY's opening tune = journey. DS9 = struggle. I mean, DS9 wasn't the "happiest" of Star Trek shows. There was a war going on! And, would you think that there would be an exciting, fast paced tune for a station!?! I like DS9's. I'm listening to it right now. It is very...haunting, I suppose.

Yep. I like the theme because it expresses how grandiose the station is...plus, as you said. It has a darker theme than the others, especially TOS/TNG's.

True...DS9 did have a darker sound to it...being a Band Nerd myself...but I still found it boring. I have a very WIDE acceptance and tolerance of music, so I'm not just talkin' out my butt when I say this...but it was boring. The ONE thing that I did like about it was the Trumpet solo and features in the tune. Very nice...it sounded a bit synthasized to me, but I'm not certain on it. But still nice trumpet solo. (I'm a trumpet player, obviously.)

But anyway...that's just my thinking on it. Voyager was the best

I'm listening to the DS9 theme right now. I, too, like the trumpet sounds. I like the DS9 theme a lot.

I just feel that DS9 is the least popular of the Star Treks...I dunno...from what I've seen on this site, it would lead me to believe so, y'know? At first glance, it would look like TNG is my favorite. TNG is awesome and all (my fav. ep. in all of ST is in TNG: The Best Of Both Worlds), but, in reality, my fav. ST is Deep Space Nine...it's awesome...y'know?
