21st CENTURY

STARDATE Unknown/March 1, 2153

"First Contact"

A scientific team in the Arctic discovers two Borg drones. When the drones assimilate the scientists and move into space, Enterprise is called upon to find the cybernetic beings and stop them.

24th CENTURY

STARDATE 42761.3

The Borg

Q demonstrates the "inadequacy" of the Enterprise crew by hurling them into the path of a Borg ship, in the distant Delta Quadrant.

STARDATE 43989.1

Rumors...

The remains of New Providence Colony. On stardate 43989.1, the USS Enterprise-D arrived at Jouret IV, after contact with the New Providence colony was lost 12 hours earlier. The colony was found to have been completely destroyed, literally scooped from the planet's surface. Admiral J.P. Hanson and Lieutenant Commander Shelby of Starfleet Tactical arrived to investigate the disappearance. An away team determined that the colony was wiped away by weapons similar to those found on the Borg cube encountered by the Enterprise in System J-25. Starfleet immediately began preparations for a possible Borg invasion. Admiral Hanson returned to Starbase 324 to discuss strategy with Starfleet Command. Starfleet imposed a fleet-wide standing yellow alert, and warned all Federation and allied outposts. That evening at 1900 hours, the USS Lalo departed Zeta Alpha II on a freight run to Sentinel Minor IV. At 2212 hours, Starbase 157 received a signal from the Lalo, reporting contact with a cubical object. The signal was cut off mid-transmission, and no response was received to further hails.
Contact with the Borg. Upon receiving this information from Admiral Hanson, the USS Enterprise set a course for the Lalo's last known location. With Starfleet reinforcements at least six days away, the Enterprise was on her own. En route to the coordinates, contact was made with the unknown vessel: a Borg cube. News was relayed to Admiral Hanson, who had begun to assemble a fleet to combat the invasion. The Borg demanded that the Enterprise captain, Jean-Luc Picard, beam himself aboard their vessel, for an unspecified purpose. After a brief exchange of fire, the Enterprise retreated into the Paulson Nebula, the Borg vessel close behind. Hiding in the dust cloud, the Enterprise and her crew prepared for the inevitable conflict. Attempting to force the starship out, the Borg launched magnetometric-guided charges into the nebula, causing minor damage to the Enterprise. Picard ordered the ship out of hiding, and in the ensuing attack, Picard was captured by the Borg, who then left at high warp, en route to Sector 001 and the core of the Federation. Enterprise opens fire. The Cube maintained its course, with the Enterprise in hot pursuit. William Riker, as acting Captain, planned to force the Cube out of warp in order to attack it using the Enterprise's deflector dish. An away team led by Lt. Cmdr. Shelby was sent over to the vessel, and succeeded in disabling the Borg's warp drive. In the process, it was discovered that Captain Picard had been assimilated by the Collective; he had been transformed into a Borg drone with the designation Locutus of Borg. Having temporarily disabled the Cube, the Enterprise launched its deflector weapon.

STARDATE 44002.3

The Battle of Wolf 359

The Cube easily shrugged off the Enterprise's assault, with the unwilling aid of Picard's knowledge, and resumed its course to the Sol system. The Enterprise was forced to stay behind, having suffered extensive damage to its deflector array and warp core. In the meantime, Admiral Hanson and Starfleet Command had hastily assembled a fleet of 40 starships, with more on the way. The Klingon Empire was in the process of dispatching warships to assist, and the possibility of requesting Romulan support was considered. The battle begins. Around stardate 44002.3, the Cube entered the Wolf 359 system. Locutus hailed the assembled fleet, ordering them to disarm and escort the Cube to the Sol system. Immediately thereafter, the fleet engaged the Borg. The wreckages of Admiral Hanson's fleet after the battle. The USS Melbourne was the first ship destroyed, with its saucer section partially vaporized while approaching. The USS Saratoga was quickly neutralized thereafter. When the starships Yamaguchi and Bellerophon rushed to rescue their trapped sister ships, they too were destroyed along with numerous other starships entering the combat zone. After bare minutes of combat, the fleet was faced with utter defeat. Admiral Hanson attempted to rally the remaining ships to launch a last-ditch assault, but his ship was destroyed shortly thereafter, the admiral presumed dead. Ultimately, 39 starships were lost with a total loss of more than 11,000 lives. Many of them were assimilated. Only one starship managed to escape the disaster.

STARDATE 58093

The Battle of Sector 001

The second major Borg incursion into Federation space began shortly before stardate 50893, when the colony on Ivor Prime was destroyed. Nearby Deep Space 5 detected the attack, and long-range sensors detected a single Borg vessel. Vice Admiral Hayes was immediately informed. Hayes contacted Captain Jean-Luc Picard aboard the USS Enterprise-E, who was already aware of the Borg presence in Federation space and felt he should be part of the response force. However, Hayes believed that Picard's previous experience with the Borg, in particular his assimilation into the Collective as Locutus, would add an "unstable element to a critical situation". Despite Picard's protests to Starfleet Command, the Enterprise was ordered to patrol Romulan Neutral Zone, whilst a Federation fleet mobilized in the Typhon sector to intercept the Borg cube before it reached Earth. The Borg cube approaches Earth. The cube engaged the fleet soon after. The conflict was broadcast on Starfleet frequency 1486, and was monitored by the Enterprise. Approaching at speeds exceeding warp nine, the cube broadcast its familiar litany:

"We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile."

The Defiant fights the Borg. The fleet opened fire, but to minimal effect. The defense perimeter was quickly shattered, with numerous ships being lost, as the cube continued on unrelentingly towards Earth. The surviving ships, including the USS Defiant and the USS Bozeman, assaulted the cube all the way to the Sol system. Realizing that the battle was not progressing well, Picard ordered the Enterprise-E back to Earth in violation of his orders. It has been noted that from the point of the initial Borg attack to a distress call being sent, the attack lasted just over forty seconds. The fleet in battle. By the time the Enterprise arrived in Earth orbit, a large portion of the fleet had already been lost, including Hayes' flagship. However, the fleet had succeeded in dealing heavy damage to the cube's outer hull, causing fluctuations in their power grid. The Defiant, commanded by Lieutenant Commander Worf, had been heavily damaged and was preparing to ram the cube when the Enterprise-E arrived, distracting the Borg long enough to transport the Defiant crew off their stricken ship as its life support failed. Enterprise targets the weak spot. Picard, taking advantage of his residual link to the Collective, took command of the fleet and ordered all weapons to be targeted on a seemingly non-critical point on the cube. The resulting barrage destroyed the cube, though the explosion also claimed several nearby starships. However, shortly before its destruction the cube launched a small spherical vessel from its interior -- a type of Borg vessel not seen before. The sphere headed straight for Earth, with the Enterprise in hot pursuit. The cube explodes. The sphere began generating chronometric particles, forming a temporal vortex.

The sphere disappeared inside the vortex near the boundary of Earth's atmosphere, travelling back to 2063 and disrupting First Contact. As the Enterprise was caught in the vortex's temporal wake, its crew saw an assimilated Earth with a drone population of nine billion. The Enterprise followed the sphere into the past, and was able to restore the normal version of history before safely returning to the 24th century.

STARDATE Unknown/2373-2374

The Borg-Species 8472 War

The Borg-Species 8472 War was a brief but highly destructive six-month conflict from late 2373 to early 2374, fought between the Borg Collective and Species 8472. The forces of Species 8472 proved highly superior to that of the Borg, and their invasion of the Milky Way Galaxy was repulsed only after Captain Kathryn Janeway of the USS Voyager provided the Borg with an effective weapon against them. Failed Assimilation. In mid-2373, the Borg Collective learned of the existence of a species whose physiology they believed represented the "apex of biological evolution". Designated Species 8472, this newly discovered race was the sole occupant of an alternate spatial realm known as fluidic space. Eager to assimilate a species which would bring them closer to their goal of perfection than any that came before, the Borg opened portals into fluidic space by creating special quantum singularities using a modulated graviton beam. Borg vessels entered fluidic space, expecting to draw Species 8472 into their fold as they had so many other species. However, when the Borg attempted to assimilate Species 8472, they found that the species was resistant to assimilation -- their immune system was so efficient that any invader was immediately destroyed, including Borg nanoprobes. Their assimilation technology useless, the Borg were confronted with an enemy that they could not understand, and therefore could not adapt to. Moreover, Species 8472's organically-based technology was extremely powerful. Their bioships were impervious to all types of conventional weaponry, while their weapons were able to penetrate Borg shields with ease. They quickly removed the Borg from fluidic space. Purification. Borg cubes in battle. However, the sudden incursion of a hostile alien species in their biologically homogeneous space was something intolerable to Species 8472. They saw their realm as having been contaminated by weak life-forms, originating from an entire galaxy of similarly impure species. Therefore, Species 8472 determined that the only option to protect their genetic integrity was to "purge" this galaxy of weakness. Hundreds of bio-ships began pouring into the Delta Quadrant, from a string of quantum singularities concentrated in a region of Borg space later called the Northwest Passage. The purification would begin with the Borg Collective, as the first species to despoil their realm. Over the course of five months, Species 8472 attacked and easily defeated the Borg in a dozen major engagements. The Borg found themselves completely outmatched, incapable of inflicting any but the most superficial damage to the enemy forces. The Collective suffered catastrophic losses as Species 8472 swept through their territory, annihilating not only ships but entire planets, in their goal to wipe out every last trace of life. In the battle of Spatial Matrix 010, Grid 19 alone, the Borg lost eight planets, 312 ships, and 4,000,621 drones.

Total defeat was less than a few weeks away. An Infernal Alliance. Species 8472 bio-ships destroy a Borg planet. At that time, the USS Voyager was approaching the limits of Borg space and the Northwest Passage. In short order, they witnessed the destruction of fifteen Borg cubes on long-range sensors. Investigating, they discovered a single bio-ship amongst the wreckage. Hopes of finding a new ally against the Borg are quickly dashed after their first contact with the pilot; Voyager barely managed to escape. During the brief exchange, Species 8472 contacted Kes telepathically and made their plans clear. Captain Janeway realized that her situation had vastly changed: left unchecked, Species 8472 would rampage through the galaxy, destroying every species they encountered. Ironically, the Borg, the Federation's greatest enemy, were the best chance of stopping the invasion. Janeway decided she would make a "deal with the devil": she would offer the Borg a weapon against Species 8472, in exchange for Voyager's safe passage through their space.

Janeway's bargaining chip was The Doctor, who had discovered a way to reprogram Borg nanoprobes to evade Species 8472's immune system. These nanoprobes would then be able to attack Species 8472 on a cellular level. Despite misgivings from her crew, Janeway ordered Voyager into a Borg-occupied star system and began negotiations with the Collective. They arrived at a compromise: the Borg will escort Voyager through their space, while en route Voyager personnel will assist the Borg in developing a functioning weapon of war. The first test of the new alliance came when a Species 8472 fleet attacked the system during the meeting. The Borg planets were destroyed, but a cube used a tractor beam on Voyager, towing it out of danger. Bio-ships succumb to a bio-molecular warhead. In the next several days, Captain Janeway and Lieutenant Tuvok worked with Seven of Nine, a Borg drone selected to act as a representative for the Collective. They arrived at a way to introduce the nanoprobes via photon torpedoes, essentially converting them into bio-molecular warheads. Meanwhile, Species 8472 exploited their telepathic connection with Kes to locate the two ships. A bio-ship attacked, and the cube sacrificed itself to save Voyager. A small Borg contingent was left aboard Voyager to continue their work. However, Janeway was injured in the attack, and Lieutenant Commander Chakotay decided to dissolve the alliance rather than rendezvous with another Borg cube. With the Borg running out of time, the Collective decided to force Voyager's hand by taking it into fluidic space. Faced with an imminent attack by Species 8472, Chakotay reluctantly agreed to allow the Borg to modify Voyager to fire the bio-molecular warheads. The weapon was proven effective in battle, destroying all four attacking bio-ships. Their goal completed, Seven of Nine took Voyager out of fluidic space, after which it destroyed thirteen more bio-ships with a class-10 high-yield warhead. Meanwhile, Seven of Nine re-established contact with the Collective and transfered the specifications of the weapon to them. Alarmed and unprepared for this new technology, the Species 8472 forces fell into full retreat on all fronts, disappearing back into fluidic space. Defeat and Victory. Once the invasion had been repelled, the Borg promptly terminated their alliance and attempted to assimilate Voyager. The attempt failed, however, due to advanced planning by Janeway and Chakotay which used Seven of Nine's connection to the Collective to repel the maneuver. Within a short time, the Collective returned to its path of relentless assimilation. The defeat of Species 8472 had averted an invasion of the Milky Way which would have cost trillions of lives, although Voyager's crucial role in the conflict caused Species 8472 to begin preparations for an invasion of the Federation. It would not be until 2375, when Voyager established diplomatic contact with Species 8472, that these plans were reconsidered. The Borg-Species 8472 War stands out as one of the few examples where the Borg were outmatched in a conventional armed conflict. The long-term ramifications of the contact between the two species remained unclear.

STARDATE 54973.4

Unimatrix 01

Unimatrix 01 is a subsection of the Borg Collective. Drones assigned to this unimatrix operate in close association with the Borg Queen. Seven of Nine was the tertiary adjunct of Unimatrix 01 until her release from the Collective in 2374. Unimatrix 01 was destroyed in 2378 when an alternate future version of Admiral Kathryn Janeway disrupted the collective with her neurolytic pathogen.

STARDATE 58120.11

The Invasion of the Beta Quadrant

The Borg invade the Beta Quadrant, with over 300 Borg Cubes.

STARDATE 58414.86

Domination

The Beta Quadrant falls to the Borg. The majority of the Romulan and Klingon Empires have fallen; the population assimilated. Only the homeworlds of the major powers, Qu'onoS and Romulus, in the Alpha Quadrant, remain. Several Klingon and Romulan spaceships remain in the Quadrant, still fighting the Borg, but, all resistance is futile. The Quadrant has truly fallen to the Borg.

STARDATE 58503.55

The Borg Invade the Alpha Quadrant

The Borg begin their invasion of the Alpha Quadrant. The United Federation of Planets sets up "Alpha Fleet" to combat the threat. The UFP send "Alpha Fleet" out to the edges of the Alpha Quadrant, to try and repel the Borg out of the Quadrant. The remainder of the Klingon and Romulan Empires assist. The Borg War Begins...

STARDATE 58683.2

The Massacre on the Border

The flagship of the Alpha Fleet, the USS Alpha is destroyed in a battle with a Borg Cube, along with the ships, the USS Lincoln, USS Reagan, USS Washington, and the USS Antietam, on the edge of the Alpha Quadrant, in Klingon space. Two survivors of the battle found, both from the USS Alpha, in an escape pod, found floating 3 lightyears away from the battle.

STARDATE 58740.37

The USS Excalibur Begins Construction

The Fleet Admiral of Alpha Fleet, Fleet Admiral Jean-Luc Picard, orders the construction of a new vessel, the USS Excalibur, equipped with the futuristic weapons and technology that the USS Voyager had brought back from the Delta Quadrant. Picard also chooses his former vessel, the USS Enterprise-E to act as the new flagship of Alpha Fleet.

STARDATE 59021.6

The USS Excalibur is Completed

The USS Excalibur is completed in early 2382. The spaceship is currently docked at the HeadQuarters of Alpha Fleet, Deep Space Nine. Jennifer Maska, a survivor of the now infamous "Massacre on the Border", is chosen to act as the Captain of the "futuristic" vessel. The ship is set to depart for Qo'noS. According to recent intel, the Borg plan on attacking Qo'noS on the border of the Alpha Quadrant. The Excalibur, along with several other ships, are being deployed to the Sector, to repel the upcoming attack.

^CURRENT LOCATION

----------------------------------

UFP - Leader of the Anti-Borg Defensive. Have been succesful in keeping the Borg out of the Alpha Quadrant...for now. The Borg are preparing to attack at full-strength (300 Cubes). Several Federation colonies in both the Alpha and Beta Quadrants have been destroyed, while the Federation has lost contact with others. The planet of Turkana IV has seceded from the Federation and formed its own militia to combat the threat of the Borg, now unified. Alpha Fleet was formed by the Federation to combat the threat. Admiral Jean-Luc Picard was made Fleet Admiral of Alpha Fleet. Under Picard's supervision, a new spaceship was constructed, an Akira-class ship named the USS Exacalibur. The ship was made with modifications using the futuristic technology brought back with the USS Voyager. Deep Space Nine is the acting headquarters of the war.

Klingons - Most of the Klingon Empire has fallen. Whatever is left of the Empire has clustered onto Qo'noS, the homeworld of the Klingons, which is in the Alpha Quadrant. Still, some Klingon ships remained in the Beta Quadrant, trying to retake their homes. However, these "honorable" Klingons attempts at taking back their land is futile, seeing as the Borg outmatch the Klingons, 10 to 1. The remaining Klingon warriors on Qo'noS prepare to make their last stand, ready for whenever the Borg make their "final" assault.

The Plot of this RPG...you serve aboard the USS Excalibur, during the Borg War. Your job...to stop the menacing threat of the Borg before you, along with the rest of the Alpha Quadrant, are assimilated.

This page will be updated regularly as the RPG goes on, adding more info on the war.

Biography
Jennifer Maska was born on April 21, 2351 on the planet, Betazed, to Marcus and Vivian Maska. Jennifer is the oldest of three sisters. Jennifer grew up on Betazed. When she was at the age of 16, Jennifer decided to join Starfleet Academy. Unlike her two other "girly" sisters, Jennifer wanted to do something with her life. Jennifer said goodbye to her parents, who reluctantly let Jennifer leave, and left to Earth, aboard a visiting Federation freighter. Once Jennifer made it to Earth, she enrolled into Starfleet Acadmey. While in the Academy, Jennifer studied to be a Security or Tactical Officer, despite other's advice for her to be a Counselor, because of her "telepathic" skills, being a Betazoid. Jennifer didn't want to be a "prissy" Counselor. She found counseling useless and pointless aboard a starship. A Starfleet officer should be able to control their emotions, WITHOUT the help of a Counselor. Jennifer graduated from Starfleet Academy, two years later, in the year of 2369, at the age of 18. Jennifer was the valedvictorian (head) of her class. Jennifer was assigned to the USS Yellowstone, a Constellation-class vessel. The Yellowstone was assigned to patrol the Romulan Neutral Zone. During this time, Jennifer served as a lowly security officer. Her time aboard the Yellowstone was uneventful, until, in 2372, when her ship was attacked by two rebel Romulan warbirds. The Yellowstone was outmatched. The Romulans managed to disable the Yellowstone's shields and neutralized the engine, rendering the Yellowstone incapable of escape. The Romulans boarded the vessel, planning on taking it over, via the transporters, which was now possible, due to the fact that the Yellowstone's shield's had been knocked offline. During the battle for the ship, the Chief Security Officer, a Klingon, was killed by one of the Romulan rebels. Jennifer picked up the dead Klingon's bat-leth and fought off the Romulans. Jennifer managed to keep the Romulan's out of Engineering, giving the ship's remaining engineers time to get the shields and engines back online. Once this was achieved, Jennifer, along with several other security officers, had killed the majority of the Romulans. The remaining Romulans were sent to the Brig. Jennifer, under Captain Ramirez's orders, took control of the Tactical Station. With her vast knowledge of weaponry and tactical maneoveurs, Jennifer managed to take down one of the warbird's and disable the other. The ship managed to escape the battle, but, in bad shape. Upon arrival at Deep Space 5, the ship was repaired and Jennifer was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and was moved to Chief Tactical/Security of the USS Yellowstone, because of her bravery during the Romulan incident. She served on the Yellowstone during the Dominion War. She served in the Battle of Omarian Belt, along with several others. After the war, Jennifer was transferred from the Yellowstone to the newly constructed USS Alpha, flagship of the newly formed Alpha Fleet, to serve as the Chief Tactical Officer. She was awarded the Christopher Pike Medal of Valor for her acts during the battle with the Romulans aboard the Yellowstone. When the Borg War broke out, the Alpha along with several other ships were sent to the border of the Alpha Quadrant, to patrol the area, to keep the Borg out. However, when the Borg came, with over 10 Borg Cubes, the ships were outmatched. The Alpha, along with the rest of the ships in the battle, were assimilated by the Borg. However, Jennifer, along with another officer, a Bolian, managed to escape aboard an escape pod before being assimilated. They were found two weeks later, by the USS Michigan. Jennifer was taken back to Earth to rest. Several weeks after she had made her way back to Earth, Admiral Jean-Luc Picard approached her and asked her to become the Captain of the newly constructed Excalibur. Jennifer was taken aback, seeing as she was still a Lieutenant Commander. However, with some persuasion, she accepted. *MORE TO COME SOON*

Biography
Born as Annika Hansen in Tendara Colony in 2348 (Stardate: 25479) to Magnus and Erin Hansen, a pair of exobiologists, Seven of Nine was assimilated by the Borg at the age of six on the USS Raven. The last record of the Hansens was at Deep Space 4 in the Omega sector, where they refused to file a flight plan. Searching for the Borg, the Hansens found a transwarp corridor that allowed them to travel to the Delta Quadrant, on the other side of the galaxy. They were eventually discovered by the Borg, who assimilated them. The Borg Collective was all Seven of Nine knew, and provided her with a sense of order. After serving as a representative of the Borg during a brief Borg-Voyager alliance, Seven was disconnected from the Collective by Captain Kathryn Janeway, Commander Chakotay and Chief Engineer B'Elanna Torres in order to prevent Seven's betrayal and an ensuing assimilation of the USS Voyager. Although given the opportunity to be addressed once again as Annika Hansen, Seven chose to retain her Borg designation, although she did agree to be referred to as, simply, Seven. Following her disconnection, she found in Captain Janeway a mentor who helped her become more human. The Doctor also provided valuable guidance in enabling her to develop her social skills and thus "blend in" with the crew of Voyager. The Doctor subsequently fell in love with Seven, but she did not reciprocate these feelings. Her character's storyline instead took an unexpected twist in the final episodes of the series: she fell in love with Commander Chakotay after running simulations with a holographic Chakotay, and was set to marry the real one as the series ended. This 11th hour development which first manifested itself midway through the seventh season, upset many fans, namely those who wanted to see the romantic relationship between Janeway and Chakotay revived, and those who saw lesbian subtext between Janeway and Seven. Despite her personality seeming to be Vulcan-like, there were differences, some subtle and others not. She generally displayed a high degree of adamancy and passion, although these characteristics were not always immediately apparent. At times as well there were paradoxical displays of intermittent arrogance and vulnerability, and the customary abruptness of her background as a Borg drone. Seven's mode of speech was also subtly distinctive, with her vocabulary and word usage being reflective of her cyborg heritage. Other than very briefly, when she temporarily psychologically reverts to full humanity, Seven's speech also never contained contractions. In a manner carried over from the Borg, Seven also had a tendency to use highly mechanistic, strict binary (or absolutist) logic. She was largely incapable of perceiving "shades of grey;" something was entirely one way, or entirely another. Things were not described in emotionally relativistic terms; they were merely acceptable or unacceptable. The Borg also strictly defined topics into two broad categories: relevant or irrelevant. Seven had surgery to one of her implants to allow her to properly use emotions. Seven, along with the rest of the crew of Voyager, made it back to the Alpha Quadrant from the Delta Quadrant, via a Borg transwarp. Seven decided to move to Earth, where she lived with her "aunt" from her "former life". When the Borg War broke out, Seven was asked, by former Captain, Admiral Kathryn Janeway, to assist the Federation, because of her extensive knowledge of the Borg. She agreed and was assigned to the newly-constructed USS Excalibur, along with former crewmember, Tuvok, serving as a Borg specialist, because of her extensive knowledge of the Borg, seeing as she once was a Borg Drone.

Biography
Tuvok was born on Stardate 3877.4 at the Vulcanis Lunar Colony. Tuvok began his career in Starfleet in 2293, as an ensign 29 year old junior science officer aboard the USS Excelsior under the command of Hikaru Sulu during the Khitomer Incident. Throughout his service he became increasingly disenchanted with non-Vulcans and resigned from Starfleet soon afterward to undergo the Kolinahr regimen on Vulcan to purge his emotions. Six years into the ritual he began experiencing pon farr, which inexorably led to his marriage to T'Pel. Several decades later, after much internal deliberation he re-enlisted in Starfleet and was assigned to USS Wyoming, eventually settling aboard Intrepid-class starship USS Voyager as chief of security. Due to incongruities between the opening credits, rank pips and dialogue in the first season it is uncertain whether he was at that time a lieutenant or lieutenant commander, but most evidence points to the former. Prior to his final assignment with Voyager he had done everything from critiquing Kathryn Janeway's tactical procedures and serving under her onboard USS Billings to instructing cadets at Starfleet Academy. In 2371, Tuvok was assigned to infiltrate the Maquis organization aboard Chakotay's Maquis ship. During this infiltration, both the Maquis ship and the USS Voyager were unwittingly transported to the Delta Quadrant by the Caretaker. The Maquis ship was destroyed and the two crews were forced to unite on Voyager, with Tuvok resuming his tactical duties on the bridge. At that time, Voyager also picked up two Delta Quadrant natives, Neelix, a Talaxian, and his girlfriend, Kes, an Ocampa. Tuvok recognized Kes's telepathic abilities and helped her develop them, but "tolerated" Neelix. A transporter accident fused Tuvok and Neelix together into a new humanoid, Tuvix, but they were restored to their individual forms by Captain Janeway using a procedure devised by the EMH. In 2374, Tuvok was promoted to Lieutenant Commander. It was learned that Tuvok had been inflicted with a neurological disease, although it was not revealed when and how he was inflicted with it. In 2378, he was still well enough to perform his duties. In an alternate timeline's future, set a number of years later, the disease has ravaged Tuvok's mind. He returned with the Voyager crew to the Alpha Quadrant in 2378 and was reunited with his wife, three sons, a daughter, and a grandchild on Vulcan. Once he returned to Vulcan he was cured of the neurological disease that he had been afflicted with. Tuvok, along with the rest of the crew, made it back from the Delta Quadrant to the Alpha Quadrant. Once he had returned to the Alpha Quadrant, Tuvok continued his work in Starfleet. Tuvok served aboard the Voyager for four more years, until the Borg War broke out. At this point, Tuvok was reassigned to the newly constructed, USS Excalibur, along with former crewmember, Seven of Nine, to serve as a weapon specialist, because of his experience and knowledge of the "future" weapons. Before being transferred to the Excalibur, Tuvok was promoted to the rank of Commander.

(Alright...I am making the first post of "Invasion".)

~The Massacre on the Border~
Stardate 58683.2
USS Alpha

~USS Alpha, Captain's Ready Room~

Captain Wallace Gromit sat at his chair, behind his grand, oaken desk. In his shaking hands, he held a picture frame. Inside the picture frame, was displayed a picture of a family...Gromit's family. The picture had been taken six years ago, back on Earth...the last time that he saw his family. They picture had been taken on their ranch in Bozeman, Montana, in America. Gromit's wife and their three daughters were all in the picture, standing in front of their ranch house. Gromit smiled as he looked at the picture of his wife, Vanessa. She had been pregnant at the time of the picture, with Gromit's first son. Even with a fat belly, she looked so beautiful. Her long auburn hair fell onto her shoulders, gleaming in the bright light of the sun above. She had a big, heart-warming smile on her face, the same smile that Gromit would see every time he woke up. Gromit couldn't help but cry, knowing that this was the last time that he was ever going to be able to see her smile, again. Gromit kissed the picture of his wife, letting the tears roll down his face like a river. After a moment of silence, Gromit looked over, at his three daughters, Jessica, Natalie, and Vivian. Jessica was the oldest. She would be nineteen, next month. Jessica had followed in her old man's footsteps, by joining Starfleet. She would have graduated from Starfleet Academy next year. Gromit loved her so much. Jessica always wanted to please him. She had done so well in school. Every time she got an "A" on a test or exam at school, Gromit would hand it up on his "A Wall", in the kitchen. When Jessica was ten years old, Gromit had to make a second wall, because she had so many "A"'s. Jessica was such a smart girl. From his last transmission with her, she was to be married the year she got out of the Academy. Now, Gromit would never be able to attend her wedding. He would never be able to see his daughter raise a family of her own. Gromit would never be a grandfather. Gromit then focused his attention on the middle daughter, Natalie. Natalie was sixteen, now. She was always the "girly-girl". Natalie would spend all of her time, on the computer, talking with her friends. She had had three boyfriends by the age of thirteen. Despite her bratty behavior, Gromit loved her so much. He thought that she was the prettiest little girl in the world. Now, Gromit would never be able to see her grow up and marry. She, no doubt, would be able to marry any man she wished. Lastly, Gromit looked over at his youngest daughter, Vivian. Vivian was only eight years old. Gromit loved her the most. She was so innocent. Vivian always looked up to her father. Gromit could remember the days when she had been just a little baby and he had taken her onto the Alpha. Gromit could remember her giggle when she saw his Chief Engineer, Grendon a Bolian. Vivian had called him "Mr. Blue". Both Gromit and Grendon had laughed at the joke. She was only a little baby. Gromit would never be able to see what she would grow up to be. He wouldn't be able to live the rest of his life...because of the Borg.

While Gromit was thinking about his old life, something was pounding on the door to the dark Ready Room. Gigantic dents had been made into the thick steel doors. Something of great power must be trying to make their way into the room. Soon, the sounds became so intense, that Gromit dropped his picture onto the floor, in fright. The picture shattered, the glass breaking and scattering across the red carpeted floor. Gromit looked down at the shattered picture frame and began to sob, uncontrollably. His life was over...he would never be able to see his family, again.

Gromit put his head on the table, pushing aside the cluttered papers and whatnot. A puddle of tears had been made on the oaken desk, slowly dripping off the edges, falling to the carpeted floor below, like missiles. The sound of Gromit crying echoed throughout the room, but, was drowned out by the constant banging of the entity from outside of the Ready Room.

After several minutes of crying, Gromit sat back, upright, in his red leather chair. He wiped away the tears and tried to regain his complexion. He sat, in the darkness, looking dead ahead, at the indented entrance to his Ready Room.

"They'll be coming anytime, now." the Captain thought to himself, trying to hold back the tears, once, again. He knew he was going to die. The Borg had assimilated the rest of his ship. He was no match.

Just as the doors were thrust open, allowing a torrent of Borg to pile into the Ready Room, Gromit unattached his phaser from his belt and thrust it up to his jaw. He was going to take his life, rather than live the rest of it as a mindless Borg.

As the Borg swarmed him, Gromit pulled the trigger...nothing. It didn't work. A malfunction of some sort. Gromit looked down at the phaser, in shock...and fear. He was going to be assimilated...resistance was futile.

Gromit screamed as the Borg attacked him, led by his First Officer, a Human woman. The sounds of the Captain's screams, as he was being "added to the Collective" echoed throughout the USS Alpha...hope was lost...

*MORE TO COME!!!*
