I called it a "Frontage"...but whatever.
That's how it is here in canada. Nine time out of ten, a road along Highway 1(The closest thing to an interstate) is usually "Frontage" road... but...I'm canadian. I'm wierd.

I'm Canadian and I've never heard of that before... Perhaps it's more common in the region you live in.
