In the Year of 2382, several years after the infamous Dominion War, the Federation, with permission from the now reformed Dominion, has set up a colony on the planet of Weynon VI, in the Weynon System, several lightyears away from the Bajoran Wormhole. After the colony has been established, the Federation plans to build a space station to orbit the planet, to ensure the planet's safety, in case any "hostile" Gamma Quadrant natives "dislike" the incursion into their native space and revolt. Since the colony is nearing completion, civilians are beginning to move to the planet. To protect these people, as the star base has not yet started construction, Starfleet has ordered the workers on Weynon VI to construct an outpost on the planet; a Starfleet base. This base, dubbed "Priory", has been ordered to defend the planet until the station has been completed. The base has been given one starship, the USS Excalibur, along with several shuttles and runabouts. The base is also installed with state-of-the-art defense systems, to protect the planet from the surface. The base is high-tech and is fully capable of protecting the planet for the first year, until the starbase has been completed.

The RPG takes place on the surface of Weynon VI, at the station of "Priory".
