Fri Mar 31, 2006 4:24 pm Startrek: Legions Card Game |
|
I just got knocked on my Arse. "BIG TIME"
I created my very own card game for my Startrek Legions forums..
It was all plannet out beautifully and juuus when I get it all done.
BOYAH! Someone yanks the rug right from under me!!
I did allllll these freakin characters for the card game! Like Lieutenant Savro..
Well allota of my work "DID" go into her..
I mean she is a model from the "Poser" program but there is allot of stuff you have to do to make her something more your style.
I'm "STILL" trying to improve on her uniform..
Things like making the bump image for the lines in the shoulder area are a real witch with a Capital "B"..
And the shading??!!
OOOOOH, MAN!!!
As you and I might already know.
Shading makes the differance between lookin real as Tomb Raider or fake as Minnie mouse!!
I mean even if I drew something by free hand..
Shading can be one of the largest task to the graphic.
I think why most artist like myself use "Poser" is to save time!
To make a character from scratch takes a BUTT LOAD of time!
and Lt. Savro is only part of a huge project I worked on which involves a massive amount of characters..
Its was gonna be my "FREE" online Startrek Legions C.C.G!
Card Collector Game!
When I first thought of it I never realize what a HUGE, HUGE task it would be!!
I mean when I was barely one quarter done with it! the cards were turing out to be MIND BLOWING!
And free!! thats a huge part to me because I saw some online Battlestar Galactica game that actually sold Cyber cards!!!
I was like "WHAT - THA - HELL?!!"
Me personally? I just can't imagine buying online cards..
I got a gazzillion "REAL" ones but cyber ones? Hell, nah..
So I made a roleplay game along with an online dice roller for Star trek cards..
See the roleplayer was suposed get their own ship and crew..
But a generic ship along with default officers!
Every mission they would of completed they would of been able to use the online dice roller to roll for new cards!!
And thats where everything went wrong..
I was using a kewl online dice roller that sent the results of the dice roll to an E-groups so everyone could see the results of the roll!
Then the dice roller website went down making my card game bite the dust!
Arrrrgh!!!!!!
Two months of making cards!!!!
Dude!!! why me?!
**Sighs**
Anyways.. the cards are WAY to many to post but if anyone wants to check em out. Here's the addy..
http://muraudi.proboards44.com/index.cgi?board=fcccg
All the cards should be in the Trading post section..
I was pretty proud at some of the characters I made.. I admitt there might be allot of you who might shrug their shoulders at it but it might be at least entertaining for you to see some of them..
If anyone has any ideas on how to repair my poor card game, Simply reply to this thread..
