Walker shook his head. "That's the odd thing. There's no distress calls, no reports from other ships--but the station is still there; it hasn't been destroyed. You're welcome to stay here on the bridge until we arrive, Doctor. If we send over a team, you will definitely be on it."

Marisa nodded, happily.
"I would like that very much, Captain. I would love to see this mystery station with my own two eyes, you know? So much to do...so little time..." Marisa sighed, looking depressed. But that didn't last long. She quickly looked back up, with a slight smile on her face. "Well...I guess I'll stay on the Bridge for a bit. I don't come up here very often, but I don't really want to go back to that stack of paperwork on my desk." Marisa pretended to shuder. "Ugh! I hate paperwork!" Marisa gave a weak laugh. Marisa turned around and sat down on the bench near the Captain's Chair.
Now sitting and relaxed, Marisa looked back over at the Captain.
"Do you know how much longer until we arrive at the station? All of this talk about it has made me anxious to see it in person." Marisa asked, leaning forward, her hands placed in her lap.

"In less than an hour," said Walker. He picked up the PADD that he had been perusing previously and continued looking it over. Gamma shift had been restructured last week prior to their departure to make room for new crew members, and he was only now catching up on the changes.
He looked up briefly to tell Mr. Hardy, "Lieutenant, when we approach the station, take us out of warp. Keep a distance of 1 AU until we can establish that the situation is under control."

Marisa nodded, leaning back in her seat.
"Only an hour away, huh?" Marisa muttered to herself.
"I can't wait to get there...so much to see. The Captain wouldn't mind if I did a little investigating of my own, would he?" Marisa thought to herself, as she began filing her nails, again, waiting to approach the outpost.

After Verad has finished going over the logs since he was last on duty, he ran a sensor diagnostic to make sure they would be at peak efficientcy for when they arrive at the station.
He was looking forward to when they arrive at the station and having some part in solving a good old fashioned mystery.

The Serenity neared Outpost 43-Eridani. It would enter the system in a few moments, and then the mystery would start unfolding.
A nice, shiny light blinked on Hardy's console even as sensor feeds went to Tigan's station.

-Bridge, U.S.S. Serenity-
Lieutenant Kiyraesyn stepped onto the regal Bridge of the U.S.S. Serenity and approached her commanding officer, Captain Walker. Her eyes glistened as she sashayed onto the Command Deck. She halted near the man who was, apparently, in charge. She stood at attention before him and spoke crisply and clearly.
"Sir, Lieutenant Kiyraesyn DeRhys, requesting permission to come aboard as ship's Chief Engineer." She waited patiently, her sapphire-hued eyes boring into the eyes of her superior officer, awaiting his confirmation.

Walker met DeRhys' stare and nodded. "Welcome aboard, Lieutenant." He gestured at the viewscreen. "As you can see, we're just arriving at Outpost 43-Eridani right now. Depending on the station's status, you may need to take an engineering team over."
He looked over to where Lt. Tigan sat at the science console for a report on 43-Eridani's situation.

"Yessir," DeRhys nodded in understanding and outstretched a hand and offered, " and Captain, it will be an honor serving with you." She smiled.

As the sensor data came through to his consol he realised what appeared to have happened. He felt a bit uneasy about the reasons and knew the captain must know.
"Captain, the Electro Magnetic signature that was picked up some time ago...it was a weapon. Thats whats disabled the station"
After he had finished he awaited the captains reply. Really he wanted the captain to call a meeting of the senior staff, he didnt feel comfortable openly sharing the information. Never the less it was not his decision to make.

Kiyraesyn listened to the report and looked to the viewscreen. The image of the station lingered eerily, drifting silently in space. There seemed to be no evidence of life, as far as the Lieutenant could tell. She felt drawn to this place, as if it seemed to be calling to her.

Marisa stood up out of her seat, her eye's wide. The station was magnificent. The station's sleek metal frame gleamed in the blackness of space. Blinking red lights blinked on and off at the mysterious station, adding to the station's already ominous appearance. Nothing moved...it was rather scary. The scene was both beautiful and eerie...
What an odd sight...
"Wow..." Marisa muttered under her breath, in awe.

Kiyraesyn smiled in response to Marisa's reaction to the appearance of the space station. "Wow indeed." She turned back to the Captain and added, "If you will excuse me, my place is in Engineering until you see it fit to send an Away Team."

Walker nodded again at DeRhys. He then turned to Tigan. "A weapon? Interesting--so the station is just disabled, but not damaged? That's good then. What about life signs?"

"I'm not picking up anything, however the residual electro magnectic field around the area is most likley blocking the sensors...." he replied quickly

Volch observed the situation with keen interest. Disabled but not damaged? That was definitely a good sign.
But then, what happened to it? And what was going on inside?
"Is there any possiblity that you could compensate for the magnetic field and get a complete sensor scan, Mr. Tigan?" the Vulcan asked, inquisitively.
He figured the answer would be a negative, but he wanted to be sure.

So they would have to board the station. Very well then. Walker turned to Volch. "Commander," he said, "put together an away team and take it over to the station. Beam into the station's main control room; start from there and proceed with caution. I am going to send Lt. DeRhys over with an engineering team to the station's main engineering section to hopefully restore its power."
Walker tapped his combadge. "Walker to Lieutenant DeRhys. Put together a team of engineers and report to transporter room two. You're beaming over to the station's engineering section. Try and restore its power."

U.S.S Serenity, Main Engineering
In reply, DeRhys tapped her badge and acknowledged the Captain's orders. "Understood, Sir. On my way up now. DeRhys out." She nodded to several officers, who had been standing beside her, and began heading for the door to leave Engineering, taking a kit with her as she went. "Dicen, Rogers, Souray: You're with me. Strickland, you have the Bay. I'll be keeping an open channel while we're over there, so make sure you're on top of things here. I may need your help." The officer named Strickland nodded curtly and wished the Chief good luck as she swept through the doors with her team and made ready for transport.
U.S.S. Serenity, Transporter Room Two
Lieutenant Kiyraesyn DeRhys sashayed into the transporter room with her Engineering team and waited for further communications and instructions from her superiors. The Commander, she thought to herself, must be running a little late this morning. The other three members of her party seemed anxious. She could sense a certain aura of excitement, and of fear in their eyes. She made every effort to alleviate their anxiety by offering up idle conversation while they waited for the Commander.

Marisa was anxious. She couldn't wait to go inside Eridani-43. She would finally be able to see the inside of the fabled station.
And now, the Captain was sending an Away Team to investigate...the station was so close...The mysteries of Eridani-43...The secrets of Starfleet Medical. Who knows what secrets could be hidden away in the mysterious station.
Marisa briskly turned on her heel, to face the Captain. She looked embarassed; her cheeks flushed to a bright red.
"Am...am I going?" Marisa studdered. "You...you said..." Marisa felt even stupider than before. Begging the Captain? How sad...

((Cathexis, your team--composed of NPC engineers and a few redshirts--is going separately. You get to restore power while the other people investigate.))
Marisa's plaintive attitude irked Walker slightly, but the captain did not show it. He simply said, "Commander du Sema will select the team based on the mission profile. It might be a good idea to have a doctor on the mission should we encounter injured.

"That was my original expectation, Captain," the Vulcan XO replied. "Doctor Revar, please join me in Transporter Room One. If you wish to bring an assistant, you may."
The ship's Chief Tactical Officer was not yet aboard/unable to be present, and so Volch turned to the officer temporarily in the position, stating to the Andorian, "Mr. Shorn, please meet me with two security officers as well."
The officer nodded and tapped his commbadge, contacting two officers as he stated to the Captain, "Unless you believe he should join the away team, Captain, I would like Lieutenant Tigan to remain here and run continuous scans and whatnot, monitoring the station from his station?"

He overheard what the Commander said from his position on the bridge. He didnt say anything or react much. He just closed his eyes for a second and his head nodded slight with a slight breath of ackowledgement. He kept his eyes on his work and began compliling his data onto a pad. Once the team was onboard he was going to speak to the captain privatly.

Marisa's face perked up. She was going to Eridani-43.
"Yes, sir!" Marisa replied, happily. "I will go get my medical assistant, right away, sir!" Marisa nodded to the First Officer and the Captain and headed back up the ramp, back towards the Turbolift.
She signaled for the lift to come back to the Bridge.
