If there's been a topic specifically about this before, please give me the link and lock this.
Otherwise, the more I've watched DS9 the more I've enjoyed it. It's definitely becoming my favorite Trek series.
So, I ask you, particularly people like Founder, who are connoisseurs, if you will, of Deep Space Nine: What would make the best Deep Space Nine movie, were they to make one?
Should it be Dominion War-era, or post-Dominion War? If its the latter, should it involve the return of Sisko in some quite fantastic way?

Love to see a DS9 movie are you kidding? Man it would be awesome. I would love to see Sisko make a combat. He is the hero of DS9 if you want my opinion.

I would want a post-war movie. Thats exactly what I was thinking RM, Sisko's return would be the focal point of it.

Very well then.
Here's my thought, and please expand, as it is very bland: Sisko returns and warns of something big that will affect not only Bajor, but the very quadrant or Federation itself, perhaps? Basically, upon Sisko's return, what do you think would make a good plot?

After watching a lot more DS9 episodes since this thread I've decided that they really should make a DS9 movie, especially while the actors might still be willing to do so. They're stupid not to. There's so much more that could be done.

Which is what REALLY annoys me. Many of the DS9 actors said they would be willing to do a movie. Stupid Paramount must feel that DS9 doesn't have a big enough following. It's all about that money.

That's just stupid, the actors said they'd do it? Paramount wont though? Not a big enough following? and yet, the Prequel idea DOES have it?

I mean, I know the majority of members, here, on STV, all ST fans, are opposed to the prequel idea. I'm sure that any member, here, would take a DS9 movie over a prequel movie, even the VOY fans. And, plus, as Founder pointed out, if the actors wanna make the movie...make the freaking movie, Paramount!!! DS9 is becoming more popular as time goes on, through syndication and DVD. C'mon, Paramount!

Yep. Any sci-fi/drama fan should definitely check out DS9. You might be dismayed by the first season (which is still a great season by ST terms) but just wait until Season III...you'll see.

Yeah... their obviously, not as in touch with fans as any of them claim they are. They never really were infact. They did good with First Contact. Give us a movie made by the writers of first contact, and the producers what have you, and put the DS9 crew in it, or the writers of STII, but do it with DS9!

I'd so much rather see a DS9 or Voyager movie any day than one about Kirk when he was younger.
They're running Trek into the ground with all the prequel crap, seriously.
I need to know who I can write to..I think we should all dust off our pencils and stamps and send some letters of complaint.

The writers of FC. Brannon Braga and Ronald D. Moore. How about we just ask Ronald D. Moore (creator of the NEW Battlestar Galactica and, IMO, DS9's best writer) to write it.
And, definitely put the DS9 crew in it! Huzzah!
As Founder said, it won't happen, but, I can dream, right?

I'd watch it if there was a movie. I learned to like DS9. It had some not so great episodes in my opinion but all the series did. Although, a movie would be nice. It seems more and more that Trek is dieing out. I'd hate to see that happen.

Yeah, I want a DS9 movie too. I liked DS9 and Voyager but I saw more of Voyager's episodes than DS9. I was kind of upset that I was too busy to catch some of DS9's episodes so I make up for those in reruns. I would love to see Sisko's return and a post Dominion war movie. But the actors want to do it? And Paramount wont? That's just perposterous! How could they say that DS9 didn't have a big following? I mean I love Voyager but I do have to say that DS9 had better episodes overall as far as the writing went. It's just the first 2 seasons were a little bit slow.
And I agree with La Forge, I got into it more during the 3rd season. And I got into Voyager during the middle-end of the 2nd season. But yeah, has anyone read any of the DS9 books called "Avatar" parts 1 & 2 or the book "Unity?" I have "Avatar" parts 1 & 2 but I have to read them yet...I should start them now actually. Those are both post war stories and I heard "Unity" has to do with more explanation of what happened with Sisko and the Prophets. And all of those books are by the author S.D. Perry by the way if anyone's interested.

There are so many hard-core star trek fans. You would think that it would be impossible for a Trek movie from any series to do bad in the theatres. I would definently love a DS9 movie. I would go to see the premiere.

A DS9 movie would revitalize Star Trek in general. They could do a great DS9 movie about Sisko's return, his child, what happens to Kira and Odo, what happens to Ezri and Bashir... they left so many open ends and they want to kill the series with a freaking prequel. I wish someone intelligent would get on board with the movie-making gig.

Same here. Apparently, there "aren't enough DS9 fans" to make a movie and succeed. I don't know why they believe that, but in the end, it's all about money, not good story telling. It would be brilliant if they continued the story, but if there is a risk of not hitting a big payday, then it isn't worth it to them. ENT is a good reflection of that. It had a lot of potential but instead they planned on turning it into a marketing tool rather then a good story that added to the ST ethos.

Yeah, in interviews, the Producers stated that even though this was a prequel series, they would refuse to do Prequel stories....
We do need a DS9 movie. The fact about not enough fans is bull. DS9 is well recived by crits and fans, and did well for it's seven year run.

Exactly, they seem to forget it's the fan's that got them where they are. Very few people in the indsrustry realize this. It's sad, really.

I think if thay make a movie about DS9 it should be used to gear up to a new star trek series. Like if thay where to bring an end to the statin have the new ccew of the new star trek series come into play or save the day or somthing to that nature.
