STAR TREK: NOVA STAR


The Story

In 2374, a war between the United Federation of Planets and the Dominion rages on. The devastating war has gone on for many days and many lives have been lost. It appears that neither side will win the fight, seeming to go on for years.

Meanwhile, in the midst of the war, the Federation has lost contact with one of their space stations, called NOVA STAR. Nova Star is located in one of the far reaches of the Alpha Quadrant, near Cardassia Prime. Nova Star is in a prime strategic position in the war and cannot be lost to the Dominion. The Federation immediately deploys a vessel to investigate. That vessel is the USS EXCALIBUR.

The USS Excalibur heads for the space station, in hopes of learning what had happened to the space station. However, because of the distant location, the Excalibur doesn't reach the station for several weeks. Upon arrival, the crew of the Excalibur finds that the station is empty...no signs of life, whatsoever. The mystery begins to unfold...

Now at Nova Star, the crew receives new orders: to repair the damaged station and solve the mystery of NOVA STAR...however...someone doesn't want the crew of the Excalibur to solve this mystery...

You take the role of a member of the USS Excalibur, tasked with solving the mystery of the Nova Star station.

Biography: Born on Turkana IV, Karen lived a rough life. Her mother died while giving birth to Karen and her twin sister, Melissa. Their father had run away, to escape being a father. Living alone on the streets, Karen and Melissa had to fend for themselves against the rape gangs. Karen and her sister were very close; as the only thing that they had left in the world was each other. The two lived most of their lives in the sewers, staying away from other people. They lived like this for 13 years. However, when they turned 14, a Starfleet ship came to Turkana IV. Karen, who wanted to follow in the footsteps of another human female from Turkana IV, Natasha Yar, decided to leave Turkana IV and join Starfleet. Melissa, however, decided to stay behind and join the Resistance. Since then, the two haven't seen or spoken to each other. Karen graduated from Starfleet Academy at the age of fifteen, the youngest human to graduate from Starfleet Academy; she graduated top of her class, with honors. However, after she graduated, she was assigned to Red Squad, an elite Cadet squad. She was assigned as a a security officer aboard the USS Valiant, the Cadet controlled starship. After three years aboard the Valiant, she was transferred to the USS Firestarter, where she served as Chief Engineer (by this time, she was a full Starfleet Officer). After two years aboard the Firestarter, she transferred to the USS Gettysburg, where she served as Chief Medical Officer for two years. After that, she served as First Officer aboard the Hospital ship, the USS Honolulu. Just recently, she was given command of the USS Excalibur, a new Galaxy-class starship, just commissioned. She is the youngest Captain in Starfleet, at the age of 25. Karen's current mission is to investigate the mystery of Nova Star, the lost space station. Karen is a strong-willed woman. She is strong in body and mind. She has a strong sense of duty. She also has a terrible temper when provoked. She is a very wary person and chooses her friends and crew carefully.
Special Skills - Skilled in all general areas; especially medicine. Karen is an excellent leader. She is rather strong, in both body and mind. She can play the violin. She is a good actor/negotiater.

Family: Benzites have a different family structure than the Federation. They build geostructures and everyone within it look identical. Only Benzites within the specific geostructures can tell the others apart.
Appearance: Blue skin. Fish-like almost.
Biography: Joined Starfleet in 2365 and graduated in 2369. Didn't like anything other than medical and due to his species ability with genetics, he graduated with honors. Marden was given any ship of his choice to serve on from within the 5th fleet. He immediatly chose the Ark Royal, but felt that it was not enough. The ship rarely went into the "unknown" as it was too busy trying to prepare for Borg attacks. He was tired of the Borg hunting, so after a few years and a new war began, he transfered to the USS Nova Star.

Biography: Born aboard a freighter, the son of its captain and his wife. Growing up on the freighter, he learned everything he could on how to fly a ship, and when he was 19, returned to Earth and joined Starfleet. He graduated as a helmsmen, and was stationed on the Nova Star, were he served until he recieved a promotion and was relocated to the USS Excalibur. While on the Nova Star, he married a female crew member. When he returned to the Nova Star, and found his wife, and all his old friends missing, he now has a personal vendeta, as well as his orders, and is often challenged with whether or not to follow his orders or to settle his score...
Special Skills: Because he was previously stationed on the Nova Star, he knows his way around better then anyone, he is also easily angered because of his personal issues involving this mission. He is also a very skilled pilot.
