Broadband, 512Kb/s. We were meant to be getting upgraded to the 1 meg thing, but AOL eventually decided that you can't get it where we are, even though my brother has a friend who's had it for two years or so and lives about 10 minutes away, Meh.

We live too far up the hill to get 2mb- BT said no.
Someone who lives 10 minutes down the hill can get it- it depends on how long your line is and the noise and stuff on it (it's not AOL who decides, it's BT). I suppose living 2 villages away from the exchange doesn't help

It costs soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much to get T1 into the house. $500 a month. Luckily, my dads company pays for it because of his servers. it doesn't hurt my gaming either.

Well, it wasn't really a matter of deciding, but finally realising or letting us know, or something, AOL were in the middle of upgrading all of their gold customers or something, from February-August, and ours still hadn't been when that time was over, and then we found out whyyyy. But pffft, you living in the middle of nowhere up a hill hardly compares, We live in the same bustling town as this guy, something sooomething. Yeah, I know it's still possible, but it is annoying.

Wales is very behind the times when it comes to broadband- but there are currently trials of fibre-optic there (using the telephone poles).

If you live in a big town, the more likely you have old cables, that have more noise on them

Broadband. I have no idea about speed, blah blah blah. But I'd probably use a Lite version of the site, anywho.

I'm wondering if many users would use a "Lite" version of this site if I make one. Lots of graphics will be removed and extra text will be removed.

If I make a Lite version for dial-up users, I can increase the avatar limits on the normal version for people.

i think that'd be excellent!! Would the "normal" site go away, or would there be 2 versions -- regular, and the lite version. Just curious.

I use broadband cable btw.

I think there would be a page with the option to go to the 'lite' version, or normal version.
