Hey STV'ers, I am having a bite of a "dilema" and have decided to ask you all your opinions on the matter to, maybe, help me make up my mind.

Alright here goes, I have two jobs now...one as an early morning stocker @ Toys "R" Us and the other as a sales associate/donation attendant @ Goodwill. My "dilema" is that I already love what I do @ Toys "R" Us after just working there for 3 offical days (Sun., Tues., & Wed.) and would like to quit Goodwill because the Toys "R" Us money is a few cents better; however, I'm not sure if I should ask my boss @ Toys "R" Us for a full-time or different position @ the store seeing as how I have only been there 3 days. So, I have come to you all to discuss which is better...having one job? Or having two (or maybe more) jobs? Please let me know what you guys think and thanks for the input.

well it all depends on if you need the $ or not really. If you're gonna be in a tight spot w/ only 1 job, then i would say keep them both. If you'll be able to manage fine with just one though, i would totally say go with just one. I've got 2 jobs right now myself. I'm a ballet teacher, and I work in the daycare at the YMCA. If i could, i would only teach ballet. Unfortunatly i need both incomes. Once summer rolls around i'll still have both those jobs, on top of also being a para in a summer school classroom. Ugh... the life of a college student. It sucks i tell ya!

If you're fine with living off of one job's salary, then I would say to quit your job with Goodwill. It might be nice to have the extra money, but quitting one job would give you more free time to study for school, watch Star Trek, or whatever it is you do in your free time. After all, money does not buy happiness.

well if one job is enough to pay for everyday living expences then its ok but if you need extra money and such then 2 jobs is good I think.

If there isn't any future in Goodwill i think you should have 2 jobs for a while(2 or 3 weeks) and when you are really sure you want too go on @ Toys Ur US then you should quit at goodwill.

However, if you can get promotion at GOodwill or something, then stay at goodwill since you know the place.

I prefer 1 job for myself, i have it busy with that 1 already.

How long have you been working at goodwill?

Good choice.

I would never be able to do 2 jobs. The 1 job i have now requirs me to work in the weekends too... like today and tomorrow.

There are pros and cons with both. two seperate jobs your probably going to pull more money with the same hours as one full time job but at least with a FT job you have your 4 weeks leave, a work car and work phone, and your hours are more stable. If you need the extra cash from the two jobs and don't mind being flexable with hours then thats probably the best way to go.

I used to work two jobs, but the hours was not good for me with both (ie finish one at midnight, and having to wake the morning at 6am to get ready for the other job). Now that I am working one FT 9-5 job I find the slightly lower income worth the change.

I've always had 2 jobs at a time. I like it, it splits up stuff better. Rather than just "I have to go to work" it's I have to go to this job or that job". It makes work not so bad because you'll like things about one and not the other. plus if you lose one you'll always have another.

I'm too young to have an official job. I have an unofficail job as a Frys salesman. I'm listed as "Consultant"

. They pay me in cash too.

2 jobs are tiring but better and has mre benefits in the long run

There is one other thing that I question about work...and that is, which do you all prefer? Being the "trainer?" Or being the "trainee?" I myself don't really care, there are perks to both. I just don't like it when you are the "trainee" and you get a person, who is about the same age as you, that is constantly crabby if you goof one little thing. Now, normally I would recommend just taking this all in and learning from it; however, when this person is constantly crabby about one little goof up and complaining about everything...it gets annoying! However, I still...I mean you all should, still put up with it and learn from your mistakes...and who knows, maybe some day this person will leave for a better job

. Also, being a "trainer" is good because it allows you to show people the right way to do there job and help them along the way. That's my opinion...what's your guys?

everyone should have one and get a good wage that fits
