"Real Life"

Me and a few buddies were watching eps of Voyager and i wanted to bring up the Ep "Real Life". In my opninon this is one of the best Voyager ep's and by far the Saddest ep of Voyager. Just wanted to know if any one esle had any thing to say about this EP.

Yes, I was in absolute bits when his daughter died and had to turn the tape off for a while. It took me a couple of hours before I could sit and watch the rest of it.

As you said, it is one of the saddest episodes of Voyager, but so well written with excellent acting that made the story believable.

If there is anyone out there that hasn't yet seen it, make sure you have the tissues handy.

one of the best and saddest eps. writen so well, i liked how tom helped the doctor understand that going through the bad times is as important as the good. and on a lighter note, i like when bellana refers to his family as lollypops.

The actors who played his family did a great job.

I totally agree, this episode itsn't the happiest one ever. I feel sorry for the doctor when the girl is in hospital and dies.

Yeah, I remember thinking the episode was kind of funny at first, especially when B'Elanna was over for dinner and adjusted the family and that was interesting but it was just really sad when the Doctor's daughter died. I think that was some of the best acting scenes from him on the show for over the whole 7 year run. I haven't seen the episode in a while, what season was that? The 2nd or the 3rd?

I saw it once along time ago...I was surprised to hear that Anson Williams, directed the episode. Had no idea that he went into directing. Then I saw Donny Most on Workforce the other night! LOL.

It's my favorite episode. It really annoys me when he scans her at the end though..... mood breaking?

A great episode indeed, one I remember quite well, even 5 years later.

I just looked it up at Startrek.com the description was: doctor experiences family life. But when you watch the preview, the only thing you see is a hostile nebula and VOY trying to stop/destroy it.
Nothing about the doctor or what so ever. And the funny thing is, I can't recall the nebula thing at all, but cleary remember the "doctor and his family" part.
I know they only put the action sequence in the preview to make it more appealing to the big crowd. But I wish in this case they hadn't done that.
Since it's very characterizing for this episode.
It's a sad, emotional story, but I truely believe these are the episodes that makes STV diverse and worth watching.
