You got it right with romance there- chance is exactly the same.

Thing is, I can talk like a northener, cos me mam's from Manchester  and sometimes when I'm being passionate, I sound like I'm from there too!
I can just about do the Scouse accent, but the trouble is the other people in my class (that's clarse, by the way) are either middle clarse posh (p-owe-sh) pay-ple or propper Slough gangstaz init!! |
Don't worry about it (though Mancunians and Scousers sound completely different).
I got accused by one of my tutors today of being from London. The worst thing is, he's a fellow Scouser!

I know mancunians and scousers are different... so sometimes i end up being a geordie!

Water fountain. No one in England calls them bubblers.
And it's a tap not a faucet. Where does the word faucet come from? It's not even French!!! The french for tap in robinet.
And it's fizzy drinks or fizzy pop, not soda. No one in England says soda.
Also... route is pronouced "root". Not rout. Like grout or out. The "e" on the end somehow magically makes it root.
And it's lee-ver not levver. Lever.

Who ever said faucet was supposed to be french? (totally random statement, IMO) The faucet is what tap water comes out of.
And fizzy drink? Isn't that more of a description? It'd be like, instead of saying, "look at the sun", "look at the bright, round thing up in the sky". Ack.
