Here are the details.
ILM deserve it. They have really worked wonders over the years, and whilst I'm sure everyone knows who they are, it's nice that they get some recognition.
Everyone knows what ILM achieved in films like Star Wars, but they did so much more, for example the special effects in Jurassic Park and the cartoony effects in The Mask. They've done some wonderful things, and a lot of movies would not be as good without ILM's magical touch.

Agreed. Oh, do I agree so much! I'm glad ILM got this award. It was well deserved.
But lol. George Lucas is a known critic of the Bush Administration, agreeing with Michael Moore, and yet Bush gave him an award today. I just found that funny.  P
