Ro Laren as Yar

I think the actress who portrayed Ensign Ro Laren would have made an interesting lt. Yar. Denise Crosby was great at it but she did not stay the course. Anyone have an opinion on this?

Michelle Forbes, who played Ro Laren, was supposed to move over to DS9 with Colm Meany (O'Brian) during the first days of TNG's 6th season to play the DS9 First Officer. Forbes turned down the opportunity to be a series regular on DS9 to work on a film career. The character of Yar was originally going to be given to Marina Sirstis, who ended up being Troi. Roddenberry switched her and Crosby fairly close to the start of principal photography of the TNG pilot. Oh what might have been...

I liked Michelle Forbes as Lt. Ro. It would have been weird if she was Lt. Yar. Interesting about Troi originally being cast to play Lt. Yar though.

yeah, wonder what would have happened if denise crosby was troi. that means yar would have stayed. What conciquences!

here is a possible list

1! Worf would not have become as developed as a character
2! alexander would not be born
3! Jadzia would not have married Worf
4! Jadzia would not have gone to the temple to thank the profits that she and worf were having a child
5! Gul Dukat would not have killed Jadzia
6! JADZIA WOULD NOT HAVE DIED!
7! Riker and Troi would not have gotten back together
8! Riker would not have taken comand of the Titan without Deanna's incestant nagging (lol)

Eh, I dunno...Deanna and Riker might still have gotten together...b/c Deanna would probably have still been a main character and not have been killed off like Yar was with Crosby as her...anyway, everything on the TNG side involving Troi and Riker probably would have continued as normally planned...though I do agree with everything about Worf. He probably wouldn't have been developed as a character and probably then wouldn't have gone on to DS9...I agree with that assessment.
