-Elerra Prime, Outside Of The Temple-

The figure remained motionless at the entrance.

"Your leaders are not recognized here," He said, "Only our Gods. No message maybe sent. LEAVE."

He raised one hand outwards and the buggy flew up into the air several feet, while finally landing upside down.

Ziona hesitated a moment and decided that she was no use to Ian dead. She bowed to the figure and backed slowly away. Once out of visual range, she bolted towards the shuttle again and jumped aboard.

She sent out a signal to DSG and waited for a response.

Jones detected an incoming signal from the planet. He was glad to after detecting the sudden horizontal movement by the buggy. Jones opened a channel.

"DSG here." He replied.

"Dead end." Ziona said and paused. "I'm at a dead end. There's some ethereal looking figure standing outside the entrance to the temple. I can't get in."

She ran a hand through her hair.

Jones ran a sensor sweep of the outer temple. He detected no "ethereal figures". Then again, sensors haven't been that great.

"I'm detecting nothing," He said, "Do you need backup? Colonel Dicot isn't doing much up here..."

"NO!" Ziona said, and suddenly realized it was a little too quickly. She cleared her throat. "Negative. I don't like... I mean, need Dicot." She leaned back in her seat. "Is there any way I can get hold of any of them?"

Jones shook his head.

"Negative," He said, "We can't even get ahold of them. I don't know what happened to them."

Ziona cursed.

"I can't very well rush in there." She sighed. "You see what happened to that buggy."

She leaned back in her chair and stared at the ceiling for a moment. She thought a moment.

"Isn't there a half-Betazoid down there?"

"What do you think the chance is that I could get his attention?" Ziona though outloud. "You know, get him to sense that I was up here."

Jones shrugged his shoulders.

"Only one way to find out," He said, "Keep me posted commander. DSG out."

He closed the channel and hoped she would succeed.

Ziona stepped out of the shuttle again and headed back towards where the now disabled and crushed buggy was lying upside down. She stopped just past the buggy and stood, her arms at her sides and her shoulders squared.

A relaxed calmness rippled through her body, spreading from her chest all the way to the ends of her fingers. It was a meditation technique she had used to deal with her post traumatic stress disorder. She visualized the temple... She visualized what she thought the others had walked down... the stairs... the dark cooridor.

Ziona concentrated for another second before she mentally pushed her thoughts outwards and towards the ground where she felt the others would be. She thought one word:

Katran heard another voice. No, he didn't hear it, exactly, but he felt it, telepathically. Someone said his last name. He reached out, feeling the presence of a human woman.
"Captain," he whispered. "A human is outside the temple. He--or she--is...trying to contact me..." He listened in, thinking, "Who are you?"

James looked back at Kyle, confused.

"What?" He asked, "A woman?

He continued to look around, focused on the bright gold of the temple.

Ziona felt someone from underground reaching back to her and she steadied herself, gathering up her strength again and reaching out once more.

Tell Captain Xavier... She felt her concentration slipping.Ziona Andreas.

Kyle Katran shook his head. Ziona Andreas? What was that? A name? Yes, a name...
He looked at the captain and said, quietly, "Does the name 'Ziona Andreas' ring any bells, because I think that's who's contacting me..."

Ian stopped his in tracks. Ziona Andreas? How was she contacting Kyle? She didn't even know who he was. She had left before Kyle was assigned to the station.

"That was my former Chief tactical officer," He replied, "I have a feeling you're mind is being manipulated Commander. Just like these fake images now..."

Ziona knelt down on the ground, her heart beating fast from concentration. She had to get a message to Katran... to explain the situation.

Please... Tell Captain Xavier that I came back. Ziona looked up at the door leading to the temple. I came on my own... To help.

Katran shook his head. "No, Captain. I have been trained well enough to know when I'm facing manipulation and when I'm facing something else. This is something else." Thank God for Master Veta's training. "There is a human outside, Ziona. She's definitely here."
He suddenly felt the contact of her again. "She just--she says she's returned...that she's come here to help, at her own discretion..."

Ian stopped for a moment to think of the situation. Ziona? Here and alone? Why? He didn't want her to get hurt.

"I don't make a habit of questioning my officers," Ian said, "I trust you."

He looked back at the entrance.

"We'll go back for her." He said, not wanting her to be alone outside with those animal.

Ian moved forward and was suddenly thrusted backwards by an invisible forced. He slammed into the ground and slid nearly 10 feet backwards in pain...

-Elerra Prime, Outside Of The Temple-

The cloaked figure appeared behind Ziona and grabbed her by the throat. He lifted her into the air easily.

"Are you of the star in the sky?" He asked.

Ziona's hands instinctively went to the hands of the figure that was holding her by the throat. She felt very uncomfortable with her feet off the ground and the lack of air was starting to kick in.

"Yes." She gasped. She was going off a whim. "Yes... I am."

"I was going to say, Captain," the special ops officer said. "It would be unwise to do so." He paused. "Are you alright?" he inquired, quietly.

Breathing was beginning to become a chore and the world was starting to spin a little. Ziona tried to focus her energy on contacting Katran one more time.

Help... was all she could think. I can't... get to you...

Ziona started to hear her ears ring and she felt conciousness slipping slightly with every second.

"She can't get to us," the Betazoid said, quickly. "She apologizes, but she can't get down here..." He shook his head and waited for the Captain to report on his condition.

Ian slowly stood up, nodding in thanks to Kyle.

"What the hell is going on!?" He inquired.

The chanting suddenly stopped and the temple grew quiet.

-Elerra Prime, Temple Exterior-

The figure let go of Ziona and stepped back.

"Then you are welcome," It said, "Go."

He pointed towards the temple doors, which now swung open.
