Too far from California for me, but I did want to say that I saw this play in LA (minus Kate) and it was excellent. Worth going to see.

Too far away for me as well. And she'll be in it on my birthday, for only 25 pounds! *crys*

Although I do find it interesting that she'll be acting during her birthday...Hm. Wonder if they'll comment on it at all

I wish I could go! If I had the money, I would go in a heart-beat! I love Kate!

I just want to meet her! If I never ever saw her perform or ever saw her on TV or a movie again, I'd just love to meet her. If only for a minute to ask a couple questions. I'd be set for life! But, it'd be disappointing if I never got to see her again, obviously, but still, I'd just love to meet her!

I thoroughly intend to go... I nearly died of excitement when I heard that she was going to be in London!

I wonder if she'll be doing stagedoor meet and greet afterwards?

^Exactly a week after mine

myblackrose: she probably will. I know my sister tracked down the stage doors for a bunch of Broadway shows (Avenue Q, Wicked, ect.) and got to meet the actors, get pics with them, and autographs. Also, check to see if she's doing anything planned after the show. When I saw her in Baltimore she was doing a fundraiser that my mom and I went to. I'm actually in a bunch of photos on the totallykate.com site ^.^

She is. She's really wonderful, warm, and engaging. Personally I clammed up when I went to talk to her () but the person I spent most of the evening talking to chatted with her a lot. It was really fun to see her talking to his daugher. ^.^

The play is absolutely brilliant, as is Kate Mulgrew's performance. She really is a breath-takingly intelligent woman, and that's the truth.

If you haven't had an opportunity to see the play, I recommend it!

April 29th is definitely her birthday, and I wish I could be at STV to post a special topic. Unfortunately, I'm performing in a musical and then I have a theatre competition to attend that weekend. I suppose I'll have to hand over the baton to TM since she's just so special!!! TM, you deserve the honor of hosting the KM B-Day thread!!! *hugs*

Definitely!

I've dedicated myself entirely to making that performance my best, with Kate as my inspiration........she's been such a wonderful role model for me, especially when it comes to my dreams about theatre and acting professionally.

How do you know that Kate's performance is brilliant when she hasn't performed it yet?

I mean, I'm sure she *will* be wonderful, but it seems a bit premature to be saying that a performance she hasn't made yet is "absolutely brilliant."

You obviously don't know that Mulgrew's been performing the play in the States for about the last, what...3 or 4 years or so? And just last August - October she was performing it at the Pasadena Playhouse in California where Cathexis saw the play. I wish I could have seen it.

And if you look a little deeper in this area of topics, there's a thread by Cathexis saying her performance was genius.

Uh, no, I'm well-aware that Kate has been performing "Tea at Five" for the last five years. However, I also read the link.

It's a different play... Kate hasn't done any runs of this one in the States or anywhere else.

As I said up-thread (although why I bother is beyond me) "The Exonerated"--the play that she's participating in in London--is a terrific play.

It is, however, not "Tea at Five."

So, what is it that I *obviously* don't know again?

Teya, relax. No one is trying to pick a fight over this....

I made a mistake, that's all.

I'm still quite sure that the play is as amazing as "Tea at Five" was--no doubt in my mind whatsoever. And I should point out that I will be seeing "The Exonerated" soon, considering the fact that I'm heading back to Europe.

Sheesh...have a cow. I was just asking a simple question. I apparently clicked the wrong link when I clicked the one at the top. I read the interview with Kate Mulgrew with her talking about taking "Tea At Five" to England, not "The Exonerated." Apparently Cathexis was thinking the same as I was.

Ya, see, I did the exact same thing...

That's what I thought! I thought she was gonna do that...where did I read, in New York? or some place close to NY...

Either way, I'm too far right now, and by March I'll be stationed in Washington across the bay from Seattle, so hopefully she'll take SOMETHING back to Seattle!!!
