I don't think she should have left she was really cool and i don't like 7 of 9 that much she's boring. I think kes should have stayed and they should of not made her mental powers progres as fast or so sudden.

YES! No offense to anyone but I'm soooo glad she left. She never seemed like a good actor to me.

She wasn't the best. But she SURE wasn't the worst actress I have ever seen. And to keep it on topic, we're talking about KES, not JENNIFER LIEN.

Either was fine. But the writer's were having a hard time writing episodes for her. You couldn't really go too far with her character, because she was very young when she left her people, so she didn't know AS much as anybody else and their people on the ship, and she was so far from them, so it's not like we could have them once or twice a season. So in the long run it was good she left because she would have run down the show.

I'm glad she left. I feel like I have said this so many times but...She was a Mary Sue. She was too perfect. They had so much drama they could have played off of her, but they didn't. They actually delt with Seven's phychological issues, not Kes's.

The big yet short hair, the pixie ears, that annoying whining whispery voice... eeeuuurggghh! No wonder they stuck her in the aerponics bay.

I think she should've stayed. They could've worked her into more of the story lines I think

Actually they couldn't. That's why they got rid of her. They just didn't have enough material to work with her. That's why they sent her on her own way.

I liked both Kes and Seven for different reasons. It's too bad she had to leave.

It's very hard to say.. Kes didn't really last long enough for the audience to understand or at least appreciate what she was all about. She came at the beginning and left very quickly I feel.

The thing that hurt Kes was the fact that Occampans didn't have that long of a lifetime, I think that's what hurt her the most. But she would made an outstanding ship's counselor had her life span not been so limited.

I must say that I didn't warm to the kes character. I'm glad she left. That said, there was the odd interesting episode which featured around her abilities, but I don't think the decent stories would have lasted into the 7th series.

I didn't mind Seven being on there because I thought she was an interesting character, and Kes was okay but got pretty boring at times. But Janeway was the BEST!

PostFri Jan 13, 2006 4:29 pm    yes only to further her own discoveries

kes had to discover her true self after her training in cold fire she had to expand her capabilities as she discovered that tthese ocampans had managed to age and restore to their previous status as telepaths and telekinesis so she left to discover what she could become

No, definitely not!

Kes was the best character in the series and the way she was kicked out for no acceptable reason at all is a shame and disgust for Star Trek and Paramount.

Umm...she was kicked off b/c she was a difficult character to write for, and they didn't have many story lines. It was either her or Harry Kim they were gonna kick off...they ultimately decided her b/c Harry was just a little easier to write for...so, that's a perfectly acceptable reason...and NOT a disgrace to Trek or Paramount...
