I totally did. Told some telemarketer that my Mommy and Daddy weren't home, and when she asked how old I was, I said seventeen,

I heard this from someone, somewhere: When they call and ask if you're interested, say yes. And when they start talking, quietly and carefully hang up the phone, leaving them talking to no one.

Or do what Jerry does on Seinfeld: Tell them the following:
"I'm sorry; I'm not able to talk right now. Could I get your home phone number to call you back later?"
The person will reply with something like, "I'm sorry; we're not allowed to do that."
And you respond, "Good. Now you know how I feel."
Then, hang up.

Anyways, today: I didn't lie once.

I told someone I that I wanted to go to prom with them. They keep hearing the truth: that I don't. So I keep saying I do to be nice. Manners are such a bitch.

Problem with that one is some telemarketers now actually give out thier home numbers.

I never get these phonecalls anymore, as I signed up to the Telemarketing Preference Service. If a stranger (with a sexy voice) rings up now, it's likely to be Simon from IDNet letting me know something

As for the original question- I've been up 20 minutes. So not yet

I lied from midnight until 5:00 am. That's when I usually get up on weekdays.

OK... this wasn't today, but it was probably my best lie ever, and it was only a couple months ago... so I'll share it.

My Thanksgiving Break started on a wednesday and I had a test in Astronomy the Monday before that, but I figured if I could get out of the test that I could go home the Friday before that and have some 10 days at home. So I asked my prof about it and he said I couldn't. I set up an appointment to talk to him about it. I told him (begin lie, I hadn't planned any of it) that I really would like to stay and take this test, in fact, I had planned on it, but something came up in my family so I needed to go home early. He asked what it was and I told him that my sister was pregnant and they were inducing labor for her on the saturday before the test so I needed to be home to be with my family as we welcomed a new member into it. Kicker? I don't have a sister... haha. Only brothers. So... aw... ok, I could tell it better in person. But anyway. the prof was such a nerd that he wigged out when I said "labor" or something about giving birth... this was some advice I got from an old girlfriend. Anyway. long story short, I went home early and took the test when I got back from break. Ha.

I think there is a great reason for that,

So far, no, not that I'm aware of.

So far, I don't think so. But that's probably because I haven't talked to anyone yet.
