Unfortunately, the law doesn't take into consideration WHY someone was beat up. I'll be the first to say a great many people out there would benefit from a good ^55 kicking.

No, that Nadia is me, but I just don't remember telling anyone that. But it is written there so I apologies if I sounded rude to you.

I'll be praying for Brandon.

He shall be in my thoughts and prayers. This is just not right, arrested for defending your home. I don't know if this involved guns, but even if it didn't, this is the exact reason why we have a right to bear arms, as granted by our Constitution--to defend your home.

No, I don't think there were any guns. Apparently, it was just a fist fight that got waay out of hand.

I am praying for Brandon daily.

It's a tricky subject and have never believed in this law regarding this subject of self defence. I think it needs much review.

Well I think here you can defend your home with equal force but not greater or something. It's such a tricky subject though and hard to deal with with equal force. If someone comes at you with a knife and you have a pistol, you can't really defend with equal force. Here in Australia though there is a loophole and thats if the pistol if your closest weapon of defence and you needed to use it there and then I think thats going to weight more in your favour (that is if you have the arms license).

That sounds like a good law.... I'm not sure what the laws regarding that are here.

I think in a lot of cases, it's kindof unigue for each case and judges decide the final verdict, but I have never been a fan of judges, either.

He's in my prayers.
NO ONE should be treated like that, by either a drunk man, or by the police.
In my opinion, the drunk man should be in prison for both his own, AND tycoon's prison sentences, and the police should be reprimanded.
It is absolute BULL-DOOEY to be told that you can't protect your home.
If I was dealing with an unarmed burglar, I wouldn't give a crap. I'd draw the biggest knife I could find from the kitchen, and make a statement about how crime has gotten so out of hand these days.
Tycoon did nothing wrong.
He will remain in my prayers.

Daniel is there a way to contact him ? Perhaps knowing that STV.com is on his side and thinks he is in the right will cheer him up slightly.
I did not know Tycoon excellently but I do know just by looking at the curcumstances that he didn't deserve to go to jail.
The saying 'A mans home is his castle' seems nowadays to be a joke in my opinion. He defended what is his and by god he should not be in jail for protecting his home. I am not American so I can't comment on the law but it is from what I can tell the same as here.... Totally wrong.
