Well, Q wasn't an actor. John de Lancie who played him......yes, he was a VERY good actor. Nobody could have played that particular Q any better!

I think a "Q" based movie would be kinda cool. I mean, you would obviously have to have one of the crews with it, *cough* VOYAGER...lol...But, a movie with Q would be cool....BUT!!!!!!!!!!! It would have to be SO SO SO well written, otherwise it would be a TOTAL disaster!

I guess Q was ok, so was the actor that played him. I just felt the char was over used. He was scary in the first couple of eps, then it got boaring

I love all the "Q" episodes. I think I've seen the TNG ones, I know I've seen all 3 on Voyager. I've never seen any of the DS9 ones...if there was more than one. I have however, seen the bloopers for the DS9 episode. That was funny!

I believe he was on only one DS9 episode. I'm neutral about the character Q, I liked some and disliked other episodes he was in but John de Lancie is without doubt a great actor.

He was a fantastic actor. His character was great, until VOY ruined him.

OMG...please. Voyager didn't ruin Q, the writers and producers did. Don't blame the show, the same people that put him on DS9 and TNG put him on Voyager. So it's not the shows fault.
As for Keegan De Lancie, (John's son,) I've only seen him act in one thing, that was "Q2," and yes he was good, but it was only one episode I'd seen him in. So, I wouldn't quite call Keegan a "brilliant" actor, like his father just yet.

I think it was a shame to have 'Q' grow up in the voyager episodes and become a responsible Q. After all were is the fun in being all powerful and responsible ? No his greatest episodes were in TNG.
Never saw him in DS9 .
Good actor though, His son was ok.
Probably about the same as Wil Wheaton was.

oh John De Lancie....I really do love him....and I do think he is a great actor! He potrays Q very well and has good chemistry with the other actors on screen...But then I could be bias because he has to be my favorite guest charecter of all time for a reason, he's obvouisly doing his job or at least he was...

I heard a rumor that John De Lancie and Kate Mulgrew were close friends in real life, is that true? If so, then that explains the good chemistry they had when he played in a few eppies of VOY.
I would have to say that Voyager kind of contradicted Q in TNG. I mean he was much more full of himself and more arrogant in it then he was in Voyager. I guess you could say the character matured more in Voyager, but it still took all the fun out of Q...*sigh*

It's actually more than a rumor, it's true. There was a TV Guide interview with the two of them and they explain that they have had a friendship for quite some time.
I think Q was just fine. Even in "Q2" he was still full of himself because he felt he couldn't fix his son, so he just pawned him off on Janeway and the crew. And wouldn't try to help.
But at the same time, the episodes weren't quite written for him to be COMPLETELY full of himself either. But anyway, I think they portrayed Q just fine.

I loved Q and I think it's so cool that he and Kate Mulgrew are good friends and have been for a very long time. I've seen of his episodes I think, except the one for DS9. I thought the Voyager episodes were fun because he liked Janeway so much. They were hilarious. Especially the Q2 episode and when he kissed Kate, the expression on Janeway's face was priceless! I had read that he would tell Kate to watch him on TNG all the time, otherwise she wouldn't be invited to his dinner parties, lol.

That was in the TV Guide interview I mentioned I had read. That was funny! And then he was like happy for her, TRULY happy when she got Janeway or something like that...I dunno exactly. It's been a long while since I read the article.

Oh, come on...there's 2 people in a row that said no...but didn't leave an explanation. If you're going to say no, heck, even YES, give an explanation as to why.
