I don't see the point. Voyager's still capable of many things. So what, the show was about this, and the movie will be about that...there's not relevant point saying that Voyager can't have a movie in the AQ...

I agree very much with what you're saying about the "prequel" looking backwards even if it is in the future and it being contrary to Roddenberry's vision.

Moving backwards is a WAY WAY bad idea on Trek's part...didn't they already learn their lesson?

Even the Eugenics Wars looks backwards, it wouldn't be a good idea.
I agree it totally it is a bad idea which is to put it mildly an insult to Gene Roddenbury,
The eugenics war is not looking back it is part of star trek history, its how the war took place (1990's) how they work things that did happen and spin them , its about KAHN!!!, Its about Gary 7 and his cat , its about the "tos-- assignment earth" that Roddenbury tried to turn into a series way back then so How is it a insult to Raddenbury when this is something he wanted to do. A movie of this would be nice But a mini series wold be better.

While the Eugenics war may have been what he wanted, we're too far into the future of trek to move backwards with the ideas...yes, a miniseries might be ok, not a full fledged 7 season series, or a one time movie...moving back in a movie and 7 year series is WAY bad!

I say base the new movie on this:

http://vv8.jetc.org/

a nice addition to the voyager series including a new enemy, a new ship (the Voyager-A), old enemies/allies, etc

And although i'm not sure on timelines, it could tie in with nemesis quite easily (depending on when that occured after voyagers return to the AQ)

Yes a mini series is about the only way to do those books, as you said movie would be to short, and a series would be way way to long . How's this for a new movie, based on the starfleet command 3 game it could work the tng,ds9 and voy cast in to it.

I think it would be a great idea if species 8472 decided to invade the Alpha quadrant and Voyager had to defeat them again. I mean how can we not have a movie about the villain even the Borg are afraid of.

It'd work if Voyager didn't already make it clear that 8472 didn't want to destroy the Federation.

Species 8472 would be great for a movie, voyager would be the best ship in the fleet to respond to the 'threat' due to their experience, you could even possibly add in the enterprise and the defiant in a fleet sent to assist, would make for a hell of a battle.

Or differently, as species 8472 are not out to destroy the federation, maybe they could attack a federation ally instead, and voyager is the closest one to go and assist.

I think if a movie were to be made, it should involve more of the Federation and not just one ship. Sure, Voyager could be in it. And it's been shown that the Borg can't actually be destroyed (I swore I saw Picard kill the queen long before Janeway did) So why not this? Why not have the Borg discover a way to assimilate species 8472 and invade the Alpha Quadrant. It would take more than one ship and the entire Starfleet Command to defend against something like this. And I mean get every starfleet officer involved too and use more than one ship besides Voyager. No one ship should get the victory nor should the credit go to one person. but get them all involved kinda like you saw in Endgame.

I heard the whole prequel thing is still in the works. I heard that they want to do a prequel but not with the Enterprise crew. Patrick Stewart had said that he was done with Picard but I had recently from a few months ago that he said that he now wouldn't mind doing another movie but it would have to be at least 2 or 3 years from now. But I heard that Rick Berman didn't want to do that. I think that's stupid. They should just do what the fans want. Make the fans happy. I'm tired of prequels! Enterprise was bad enough...no offence to anyone who actually liked and watched Enterprise though.

Enterprise was stupid, and worthless. A waste of time and money. And not to mention that Trek lost some credibility by making it. Please, I thought that they would have learned from their mistakes by now, but apparently not.

Yes Picard killed the Queen before Janeway did. But obviously you didn't pay attention in First Contact when she said, "You think in such 3-Dimensional terms." If you read Golden's books "Homecoming" and "The Farther Shore," (Yes, I know they're not CANON, but it has to have some basis in reality, she couldn't have thought this up all on her own, but with the help of Trek.) It explains the whole process of how the Borg create a new Queen when one is destroyed, and how she still has all the same memories and such.

And yes, it's very safe to say that the Borg are destroyed at the end of "Endgame." Seeing as to how the entire Unicomplex was shown being destroyed. Hmm, seems logical the Borg are mostly no more and no longer a great threat.

Yeah, I mean I loved Voyager, but TNG was just had a lot of variety with their episodes and plot lines. I still think a Voyager or a DS9 movie would be cool, or a combination of both series. And Harry Potter without wizards, that would be scary! That's why HP is so awesome!

my personal opinion is that they should make a movie of the book MOSAIC, because for one thing, it was all about janeway, and for another thing, it would make an EXCELLENT movie! and maybe they could work in the rest of voyager's crew into it to make it a full-on voyager movie...

You know I actually thought the same thing? That book was pretty good and Janeway's character made a lot more sence after reading that. I just love Janeway. She's my favorite character, but I guess it would be kind of selfish of me to just be like...make a movie...just about Janeway, that's all. Have some other storyline, but focus on Janeway, lol. Have you listened to the audio tape that was read by Kate Mulgrew? She does that so well. Especially her imitations of Kes, Neelix, The Doctor, and Tuvok. She read that story with such emotional depth at times. It was also interesting the way that she made a Cardassian talk. Almost sinister and snake like. The audio book is an abridged version though so it left out some stuff from the book.

I think they should make one about Pathways... If you hadn't read the book, please do. I loved it!!!!! It would be very interesting to watch. To see how Chakotay and the crew captured and Janeway figuring out a way to rescue them...

Yes! I listened to the Audio! It was good. I was younger so I should probably go back and listen to it again, but it was good. And this audio book just goes show how great an actress Mulgrew is!

LOL...Yes, I know I say that an AWFUL lot around here...but some people still don't see it...well, maybe they do and I just like bragging on her! haha...

No, I never read Pathways...If it's the one I'm thinking of, I couldn't get passed the like...80 or 90-something page chapter 2 that talked about Chakotay's life...so I said forget it...LOL...

Tom's life story was pretty interesting though.

I don't know a whole lot about Tom's life...I'm guessing it was also in the book? Like I said, I never got passed chapter 2...lol.

My next question is..."Is the book canon to that of the show?" Such as their life stories and such...
