Yeah, that is a serious downside, although you can get two lines. I know that's what we did for a while. The big factor for us getting DSL is that my dad needed it for work, so they put a box in for us and are paying for it. The thing is, the box has four ports and he only needs one...

I've really got no choice at the moment, all the bill is connected with the tv, phone and internet access.

One plus about having dial-up though, is that I can either use the lap-top in any room so long as the cable reaches the socket, or use the main computer... which has the added bonus of being in the dining room... near the kitchen... near the kettle!

Ahhh! Heaven! TEA!

I tried iced tea when we toured the States a few years ago. I couldn't get to grips with it, but that may be because I'm just used to a hot drink.

Don't know if it's allowed to do this, but I'd just like to mention that I've posted the first part of my very first ST fanfic in the Fanfiction section, which I hope for some constructive critisism.

There are original characters at first, but as I mention there, it will eventually go to the Voyager crew.

Thanks

That's perfectly allowed! I'm glad someone's still posting in there... it gets very quiet moderating there...

(I also mod this section, but don't think you'll cause any trouble )

BTW, I'm Danni, 19 with a 2 year old daughter, live not too far from Gateshead/Newcastle.

I love Yorkshire... where abouts there do you live?

Hi, Danni,

I'm glad I'm not causing a too much of a ruckus.

I've been browsing through the fanfic and poems and really enjoying myself. I love reading other people's ideas of what they'd like the characters to do and behave. I've just posted part two, but will be calling it a night in a little while... must get some sleep at some time. I'm still on holiday at the moment, and making the most of being able to go online whenever I can.

I'm 39 and live in the south of Sheffield with my son and hubby. Within 30 minutes of the Peak District. I know I'm biased, but I do love living here. Convenience of the urban sprawl, but within easy reach of the countryside.

We travelled through your neck of the woods whilst on the way up for a tour of Scotland a couple of years ago. We're camping at various places along Hadrians Wall this year, so at some point, we'll be heading that way again.

Any pointers of what to see and do... as well as the looking at the Angel as we pass?
