-One hour later-

-DSG, Shuttlebay-

Captain's Log. Stardate 57003.18. I've informed the senior staff of my plan to enlist the Zalbogian to fight with us in the war. They, like Starfleet, were slightly less than enthused. Starfleet said that I could take on this mission but only with the utmost caution and the Zalbogians must join of their own free will. I need a lot of my crew to be on the station. A lot of work needs to be done. Colonel Dicot will remain in charge of the station in my absence. So I've decided that only four people will go on this away mission. Myself, Captain Archer, Lieutenant Commander Robitaille, and my new FO, Kyle Katran. I'll be able to see how tought he really is on this mission. Apparently he is due to arrive on the station very soon. Honestly, it is not something I'm looking forward to. I was forced with this first officer and that is not something I like at all. (A quiet sigh is heard) Such is the life of a Starfleet officer...

Ian stood on a second level platform in the shuttlebay. Several of the shuttles were heavily damaged, but the Captain's Yacht was fine. Engineers, under the orders of Grey, were prepping it for departure. They were checking to ensure that everything was undamaged and ready for the trek to the planet....

--Vega System, Starcraft Hawk--
Kyle Katran, along with six other Special Ops officers, dropped out of warp outside of Deep Space Guardian.

Deep Space Guardian, this is Special Forces Major Kyle Katran on board the Starcraft Hawk. Were starting our approach. Please deactivate any shields, open the docking bay doors, Katran spoke into his communication device.
The bay doors will be opened once we have conformation of you code transmission, a voice from the station replied. Stand by.
A mere moment later, as the small ship neared the station, the bay doors opened. Just a few moments later the Hawk slowed to thrusters and entered Deep Space Guardian.
After the ships landing gear released, the ship came to a complete stop. Five minutes later a ramp opened up, to the left side of the cockpit area to anyone viewing the front from the outside, and folded out. It stopped, and a little bit of smoke was released.
Following this, while the committed helmsman of the small starship ran some final checks, Major Kyle Katran, flanked by the other five Special Operations officials, exited the ship out the ramp. He then proceeded to look around at and examine the shuttlebay. His ship was undoubtedly the largest in this particular bay, he noted.
He then found the Captain, near a Captain's Yacht-style runabout, and walked over to the man. "Special Operations Major Kyle Katran, First Officer, reporting for duty, sir," he said, standing at attention, smiling slightly, in a friendly manner. The man was younger than him, he noted. Yet another younger superior officer. But no matter. Things would go well, he hoped.

Ian looked up to see the older man. Apparently this was his new first officer. The captain wiped his hands on his uniform, dirty from helping the engineers with the yacht. He held it out for Katran to shake.

"Welcome to Deep Space Guardian," Ian said, "Special Forces Major? I was under the impression you would be of the rank Commander."

Katran shook the Captain's hand in response. "Oh, indeed I was, sir," he said, releasing the grip. "That is, until two days ago. Starfleet, in conjunction with the Federation Council itself, has created a new organization, similar to that of the Marines, in terms of its affiliation with Starfleet, I suppose. The new organization was created specifically in response to the abrupt declaration of war by the Nautolians. It's name is Starfleet Special Operations, also known as Special Forces, or Special Ops, for short." No doubt his uniform and original pips gave something away, though.

He paused, very briefly, trying to determine what to say next. "Major is equivalent to Commander," he continued, matter-of-factly. "I can explain Special Ops and my assignment elsewhere, Captain, if you would like?" He had no knowledge of the away mission he was about to embark on, yet he did know this Captain. He understood that he had a record as being competent and exceptional. No doubt a good commanding officer, considering his reputation.

Ian looked Kyle up and down. He uniform was...different to say the least.

"Interesting uniform major...." He said dryly.

Ian knelt down and continued his work of the yacht. He spoke to Kyle, while staring at the open panel in front of him.

"I've been reading up on you," Ian said, "You have an impressive history. I would almost say that you are a posterboy for Starfleet."

He grabbed a hyrdospanner and activated it over a wire.

"I wont lie to you Major," He said, "Despite your excellant record, you were not my first choice for first officer.

Katran felt a little uncomfortable for a second, but then replied, bending down towards the Captain. "Oh, I'm sure about that, Captain. No captain likes being told what first officer they receive, of course; this I know. But I assure you, sir. I will serve you well while under your command. As will my men, when I call upon them for Special Forces tasks." He turned his head to his ship. "The craft we came in is a special class of starship known as a Starcraft. This particular ship, the Hawk, is the, shall we say, father of the Hawk-class of starships. She's nothing big, but she's got it where it counts. A fast little thing. Pretty strong, too."
The Major then saw his team's First Lieutenent--his second in command for Special Forces--look at him intently. "Ah, yes." The Corporal then walked up to them upon Kyle's motioning. "This is First Lieutenent Brenn Tantor, my second-in-command for the DSG regiment of Special Forces officers and the man in charge when I'm not working directly with Special Ops. He's a fine officer--the equivalent of a Lieutenent."
The First Lieutenent simply gave the Captain a nod.

Ian could feel the rather awkward moment between himself and Katran when he told him that. Then again, Ian wasn't one to beat around the bush. He was going to speak his mind and if Katran, or anyone for that matter, didn't like it, they could always leave.

"Welcome." Ian said simply to Tantor.

His eyes shifted towards the new class "starcraft" that Starfleet had built. There were vague rumors about it within the Captain's circle, but nothing more. It was done under secrecy. Ian stood up and looked at Katran.

"Starfleet has not informed me of this," He said, "But...what is the purpose of this special OPS? How many crewman are you bringing aboard?"

Harfin Was at the shuttle bay to see off the captian, from what he just reread, the report by tidus of the incident that Ian was about to revist, was very nasty.

Harfin steped up, he hered the conversation and said
"Major, interesting uniform." Harfin said to the new officer then turned to Ian,
"He better not be taking my senority on tactical missions or were in trouble." he said wih a luagh he moved closer to ian and said "looks like a bunch of maqui rejects to me" lowly so only ian could hear.

~ Deep Space Guardian, Robitaille's Quarters ~

After leaving the meeting with the rest of the senior officers, Blake had returned to his quarters. He was going to gather several things for the away mission along with checking his computer.

Blake sat down at his desk and began to rummage through his computer. He had several files sent by Komisarek and Dagenais. They were reports and the status of officers and prisoners. That reminded Blake, he would have to interrogate the prisoners at some point. Until then they could wait. They were being fed properly and left alone, they would be fine for the time being. Blake then went deep inside his computer, clicking several hidden icons, most requiring a different password along with voice and fingerprint recognition. Eventually, after many security checks Blake was into his Section 31 database. He was glad he had decided to check it as Admiral Russ had a standby message ready and had requested Blake to reply to him.

Blake removed his comm-badge and placed it inside a random decoration on his desk. The eyes lit up red. That meant a dampening field now surrounded his room only. The small figuring would transmit data to the scanners of the last thing stats that had occured before Blake activated it.

"Computer, lock the doors," Blake ordered, "Unlock only on authorization from Blake Robitaille."

The computer chimed and complied. The doors were now sealed.

A screen rose out of Blake's desk. It had a Federation insignia on it. Blake pressed a button and it quickly changed from the insignia to a dark room with a familiar old face...

Ian hid a smile at the comment. The uniforms certainly did not look like they were standard issue.

"Of course not Colonel," Ian replied, "You're still in charge. Speaking of that..."

Ian tossed the hydrospanner in with the other tools.

"As you already know, I'm going to the surface of Elerra Prime," He said, "You'll be in charge of the station in my absence."

The captain looked back at the major, who was no doubt confused as to why he was not left in charge.

"You on the otherhand," Ian said, "Are coming to the planet surface with me."

-Undisclosed Location, Unknown Area-

Russ was looking at Fito's psychological file, when he recieved an alert. Robitaille was responding to him. He got rid of the files and looked at the Security Chief's face. He didn't even bother with pleasantries.

"Sit Fito has become a very grave threat to the Federation," He said, "He has amassed an army fay beyond what we could have comprehended and as we speak, is seeking more allies to bolster his forces. Apparently he has had these plans for months. Right under your nose agent Robitaille. Agents have been...dealt with by the organization for lesser crimes."

He laced his fingers together and tucked his face into the darkness. All that could be seen was his chin from a weak light in the room. He let the threat linger for a few moments.

"You were supposed to have been watching Fito since he implemented you during the Hydran conflicts," He said, "Fito is not to be underestimated. This has been proven."

A quiet sigh escaped his throat.

"I'm dissapointed by all of this," He said, "But I am realistic. He has been doing all of this off the station apparently..."

Russ leaned forward towards the screen. Half of his face was now lit and the other shrouded in darkness.

"Fito must die," He said nonchalantly, "Of that, there is no doubt. S31 has already put together a plan to do it. You're the only one who can do this. If anyone...within his side....tries to, their position could be compromised."

Russ pressed a button and his face dissapeared to be replaced with some kind of script that Blake would understand, but most wouldn't.

"I read about your captain trying to gain the Zalbogians to fight against Fito," He said, "I was unable to block the approval. Damn beauracrats are so filled with fear that they are desperate for any allies. Especially with the Klingons and Romulans not participating. Captain Xavier's plan must not succeed. Thats all we need, an even more powerful group of telepathic aliens; who are xenophobes, trying to take advantage of a weak Federation. Stop the mission from proceeding. When you have done this, I will inform you of the plan to eliminate Fito. Understood?

This was all quite confusing to Kyle. First of all, why wasn't the Captain notified about Special Ops before his arrival? Secondly, what did the Colonel mean by "seniority on tactical missions?" Given, the Special Ops team wouldn't necessarily operate on your typical missions, but what does it mean that he has "seniority on tactical missions?" Sure, he is a Marine Colonel--an outstanding rank for the Marines--but does that really make him have seniority there?--He digressed in his thoughts and determined that it would be best to ask the Captain, later, how this station operates.
He shook his head and nodded at the Captain. "Yes, of course," he said. "Elerra Prime...What's it like, exactly? The planet, that is? What can I expect? And what is our mission, Captain?" the 55 year old inquired.

The expression on Blake's face remained the exact same way from the moment he turned on the screen to the moment Russ finished his brief. Blake was stone-faced. What Russ had said was completely true. Blake should have kept a more careful eye on Fito, but instead he was preoccupied with other issues and events. Blake was surprised to be given such a mission after what had happened but was glad.

"Aye, sir. The Zalbogians shall be dealt with. I will not fail, mark my words," Blake said, his tone vengeful. "Fito... Yes, I would like nothing more than to see his lifeless form on the ground before me. The ravinous animal. He will be dealt with as well... Quietly and efficiently."

--Dark Shadow, Bridge--
::cue Imperial March::
The personal fleet of the man who was once Sit Fito, yet ceased to exist, flew in fluid motion around his flagship, the Dark Shadow.

Dark Lord Obsidian, Imperator of the Nautolian Empire and Dark Lord of the Dracons, the man who was once Sit Fito yet died, stood on board the bridge of his flagship, his hands clasped behind his back, gazing out the main window.
He simply adored the site of this fleet before him--and loved to, once again, view the wonderful designs of a Nautolian starship...But now was not the time for idle affection of such things.
The Imperator turned around and walked down the rather literal bridge towards the vessel's Captain. "Captain," he said, dryly.
"Yes, my Lord?" the Nautolian, in uniform, asked.
"Has Gul Oyet returned to Deep Space Nine?" the Dark Lord inquired.
"He has, Lord Obsidian," the officer replied.
"Very good, Captain. And have the others returned to their proper locations as well?"
Something made the Captain of the mightiest--and largest--ship in the entire Imperial Fleet quake with fear. "They have, Imperator," he replied, nervously.
"Excellent." He paused. "Send for Mistress Shoran," Obsidian ordered. "And contact the Hydrans. Tell them that your Lordship and Master, Imperator Obsidian of the Nautolian Empire, requests an audience with their leaders. Tell them no reason, only that I wish to meet with them."
"As you wish, my Lord," the Captain replied, bowed his head slightly, and then headed for a communications console--as Obsidian walked back towards the window to glare at the fleet once again, of course.
Upon reaching the main window the Dark Lord looked out at the magnificant fleet before him, his hands clasped behind his back, waiting for his apprentice to join him.

The lab was nice.

Aia hated to admit it. The dark floors, the shock of white, spotless tables, the pleasantly gleaming glassware that smiled at her from the counter. She thought she'd hate being treated like royalty...but now, she didn't mind it so much. Sighing, she slipped the chip she had brought with her into the nearest computer. It was barren in the room. Perfect timing. "Broadcast." She commanded simply.

The chime at the door startled her, and Shoran jumped back from the console. This wasn't her lab, after all. Only until she found her true ship. "Yes?"

The door opened, and a man appeared for her. "Lord Obsidian begs your presence, madame."

The smallest of smiles crept to Aia's lips. "Aah. Thank you, then." She turned briefly to the console, then shrugged and pulled at the gauze of the outfit she had chosen--sheer black over a shimmering white tunic. For all her effort, it floated back close to its original configuration. "Take me there."

The man acknowledged her and lead her quickly along the halls. Aia's gaze was, as tradition for her, downcast, the blue of her eyes reflected in the shining floors. It wasn't long before she arrived on the bridge to see Fito standing there, apparently enjoying his fleet. The officer left her side, and Aia took her place next to Fito. She regarded him carefully. "You beckoned?"

Obsidian was still glaring out the window, at his fleet, when Aia entered the bridge. He had sensed a familiar presence--and one of content nature, and massive power. It was Aia he sensed.
Then, as she walked up to him, he still continued to look forward, his cloak covering his face. Only when his apprentice said, "You beckoned?" did he turn.
"Ah, yes," he remarked, turning his head to face her. "Aia. I sensed your presence." He paused, reaching out, sensing her feelings. "I sense that you are becoming more content with your status, Apprentice. What are your feelings of present?" he inquired, observing her closly.
He would talk with her about her training, her ship, her assignment, the Hydrans, and anything else that popped in his mind. He might even request that she, herself, open negotiations with the Naussican, who had a long history of conflict with the Federation, to see if they could be "convinced" to join in an alliance with the Empire. The one with the gold makes the rules, Obsidian remembered an old secondary school teacher. As does the one with the bigger gun. An image of his teacher, holding his right hand up to his head in a gun shape, flashed before his face for a brief second.

Ian turned and looked over at the new officer.

"Elerra Prime is similiar to Earth in many ways except its much bigger," He said, "Different topographical regions. Its beautiful from what I've seen. The Vega Valley is a paradise. The Elerrans, who renamed the planet, have since left. Romulan refugees that fled during the Tal Shiar take over of Romulus now live in the ancient city ruins. There are ancient alien ruins all over the planet...."

He sighed and folded his arms. Now to explain the mission.

"What can you expect and what is our mission?" Ian repeated, "Well, that is a little more complicated. In subterranean temples lives a powerful group of aliens called the Zalbogians. They have terrible telepathic abilities. They are xenophobic and threaten to kill any who return to the planet."

Ian smiled widely at Kyle.

"We're going down there to get them to join us." He said simply.

-Unknown Location, Unknown Area-

Russ' face changed to a more sincere look.

"I know Blake." He said, taking a turn from calling him "Agent", "I know that you can complete this mission. I can get any other agent to deal with Fito, but I have chosen you, much to the objection of some others. Don't fail this mission. Contact me after you've dealt with the Xavier and the Zalbogians, then I will inform you on S31's plan on dealing with Fito."

Russ' sincere look left his face quickly and he stared into the screen with a blank look on his face.

"Good luck." He said simply.

The screen cut off and Russ pressed a button. His computer retreated back into the desk. He knew Blake would complete the mission. He always did....

-Dark Shadow, Bridge-

An officer approached Fito and Shoran. He bowed to both and looked up at Fito.

"My lord," He said, "The Hydrans have contacted us."

Obsidian turned to face the Koinian officer that spoke to him. Koinians. The only reason he had any interest in using their sister race was because they were pleantiful on their colony world of Meenor and had fantastic ship skills. They were the perfect "infantry," if you will, for starship operators. There were many across the fleet; but of course none of them held any real power. They were inferior to the Nautolians, and both groups knew this.
Obsidian smiled, darkly. "They have contacted us?" He chuckled. "I think you mean we contacted them, did the Captain not?" He let out a breathe. "No matter. Order the Captain to tell the Hydrans that I wish for them to set an appointment to meet with me. We have some...matters to discuss." A sly smile crept on the imperator's face...

--DSG, Hangar Bay--
"Wait, Captain," Katran said, rather started. "Did you say that we're actually going to try to get them to join us? And their terribly powerful?" He sighed. "Sir, is that really wise? If they are as powerful as you claim, why would we actually try to confront them, much less ask them to join us in our effort? Could they not take advantage of the situation, if they wished? And how, exactly, are they as powerful as you say--in what way? And how do you intend to request that they join us in our effort?" Katran knew he had said to much there, but there were many questions to cram in. He didn't think it wise to take such a risk when they were already having trouble with powerful beings--why more? It could yield some bad things...

The Koinian officer looked down at the ground. He had been implying that the Hydrans were responding to their call, not that they called first. He didn't want to argue with the grand imperator. The alien officer bowed low.

"With all due respect my lord," He groveled, "The Hydrans refuse to meet with us. They replied only to inform us that they do not wish to talk to you. They are...aware of your...attack on the Federation, something they dislike greatly."

Ian held his hand up towards Kyle.

"Please," He said, "Easy with the questions. Yes, it is wise. Fito has become a vey dangerous threat. His mental abilities put us at a severe disadvantage. The Zalbogians can help us with that. I'm going to make them offer, one that I hope they will not refuse. The worse that can happen is that they kill me."

Archer walked up to the group. He apologized for his tardiness.

"This is Special Operations Major Kyle Katran, my new first officer," He introduced, then motioned towards Archer, "And this is Captain Jonathan Archer, executive officer of the Hippocratic Oath."

Archer nodded.

"Welcome to Deep Space Guardian Major, I wish it was under better circumstances."

Archer looked around.

"Well... Off to the planet eh?"

"Understandable, now if youll excuse me, im going to go to ops. Good Luck, My Friend" Harfin replied and left for ops.

Once Harfin reached ops he walked into the middle and looked around. "Ok Listen up people. The Captian and several senoir staff are going to the planet as you know, and they are taking the only functional Shuttle craft with them."
Harfin walked around.

"I want to know how the sensors, sheilds, weapons and transporters are working. and i want a plan B incase things go wrong down there." He continued.

-DSG, OPS-

Jones looked up at Dicot, who had just entered the command center. It was obvious that he was in command for now. The cyborg officer stood up and quickly replied.

"Sensors, except internal, are offline," He reported, "Weapons and shields are online. Transporters are not working normally, which is why the captain is using the Captain's Yacht, Divinus. Lieutenant Grey is working on them as we speak."

Jones was against the captain's mission. Without sensors monitering them, they would be in danger.

"The away team will truly be alone." He said.

-DSG, Shuttlebay-

Ian nodded to Archer in agreement.

"Indeed," He said, "But we need to wait for Robitaille."

He tapped his combadge.

"Xavier to Robitaille," He said, "Please report to the shuttlebay immediatly."

--Dark Shadow, Bridge--
Obsidian thought for a moment, glaring out the center window of the bridge, hands clasped behind his cloaked back. He turned back to the officer and said, "Tell the fleet to set course for the Hydran system. We will depart as soon as my business with Mistress Shoran is completed." He then motioned for the Koinian to leave the vicinity.
The officer replied, bowing his head, "At once, Lord Obsidian." He then turned and made his way for the Captain, who was at a station at the other end of the bridge.
The Imperator, after a second of thought, turned his attention backed to his apprentice. "As I said before the interruption, my Apprentice. How do you like your status?" He looked straight at her, waiting for a reply.
[Look of the] Bridge:

--DSG, Hangar Bay--
Katran nodded at Archer upon his arrival, and listened to the two speak. Interesting, having two captains on one station...He figured the other commanded the hospital ship outside the station, however.
His response, after Archer's statement of greeting, was, "A pleasure, Captain." He paused to listen to the others, and then said, "Robitaille? Who, may I ask, is he?" he asked, unaware of who he was.

"Dam" Harfin said quickly. "How about Communications?"
