Hello

My name's Joanne and I'm from South Yorkshire in England. I'm 39, married and have a 17 year old son.

I have loved Star Trek since I was a child, though correct me if I'm wrong, it must have been about the early seventies re-runs because I was about 8 or 9 when I first saw TOS. I still have my original Annuals that you usually get around Christmas time, and my battered old Enterprise and a Mr. Spock model kit are still in mother's loft.

I don't have a religion, but am a Spiritualist and like to research ancient civilizations, local history and world religions, which is odd really when I don't subscribe to one inparticular... Also like to do quite a lot of walking and climbing in the Peak District during better weather.

From the very first episode of Voyager, I loved it. Some episodes/series are better than others, but on the whole it was brilliantly put together.

Had a peruse around the site and really like what I see. And at the moment I'm editing one Voyager story and typing up two others in the ST universe, but will post when I've had someone check them over.

Well, chat soon!
Mrs. Vulcan

By 12 mine was going through the Kevin stage... life was sooooo unfair!

But he's 18 next week, and I must admit (I'm his mum and I'm biased) but, he's turned out to be a good kid.

Fun? I'm loving it!

Oh, one side of my Mother's family are originally from Holland... granted it was about 100 years ago or there abouts, or so I'm told...

I'd been wracking my brain for the last 24 hours to think up a username being as I was bored with my old one. Fascinated with Vulcans....

"Naturally," said Tuvok!

Yes, I've had it for quite a while. Mainly for my other darkest, deepest secret sites of UFOs and spiritual, but this is the first Trek one I've posted on.

Thank you so much. As I've said, it's lovely to be here.

Hope you, and everyone else on the forum has had a great New Year. I thought that the last of my tipsy guests had left for home at 3am this morning after our party, and I came down stairs this morning to find four more sprawled out in the living room!

I did find out during the evening that one of our new neighbours is an avid Star Trek fan and we had a wonderful time chatting about our favourite episodes, characters etc, though I think we must have really confused some of the others!

I think he might be joining the forum sometime soon.

Don't worry, I will be mentioning it again. I just can't remember if he said he had internet access at home or if he goes to an internet cafe.

Ah, it's easy to forget that people still don't have internet at home or are still using dial-up since DSL is so common now.

Oh dear, I feel like a dinosaur... I've got dial up!

And my goodness is the damn thing slow at times!

I've took to plugging in the computer, logging on and going to make a cup of tea. It's usually done by the time I get back.

It's not really that bad, but it sometimes feels like it.

Lol!

Dial up isn't that bad if your used to it. The problem comes when you've tried DSL or T1 and then you try and go back to dial up. Also it seems to me that some web pages pile on the graphics!

But it works, and a cup of tea is nice!
