I live in NY. And I'm still shocked that something like this happened so close to home. I read about this kind of stuff in newspapers but in other countries. I never thought that the it would reach here. I'm tired of all this violence and death. I have family members working and helping with the search missions. I just would like to say that my hearts goes out to the people who lost loved ones, they will be remembered in my prayers. I would also like to thank all of the heros who have come together during America's time of need.
I reminder to everyone that tonight at 7:00pm please stand outside your homes your cars or where ever you are and light a candle and say a prayer to remember this day and the people we've lost.

I also live in NY, I live very close from where this tragedy happen. In this terrorist attack alot of people died, the pentagon and the world trade center were attacked, the pentagon was damaged but the world trade center was destroyed, the buildings collapsed and alot of people with them. September 11, 2001 will never be forgotten in history, and the big apple will never be the same, I know I'm here.

This is a prayer i thought up for my signature but it was too long.

Dear god, we have fallen and need your support, once and again and again and for eternity.
Bless, those grieving, for there suffering will become something great, a personal experience that deepen and expand them like never before.
Bless those who laugh at America's tragedy, because they will never have enlightenment of anything, for they have been wicked and deserve mercy, as you have given us so many times.
Bless the ignorant, who turn a blind eye, foreign or American, for their surroundings will surely change and they will not be able to keep up.
Bless the vengeful and those too eager for knowledge. May they accept peace around them, as well as within them.
Bless the caring, for they will find what they seek. They have showed compassion, and they are the ones who are worthy of taking care of the country.
Bless the superiors, for even if they are ignorant or caring. Bless the inferiors, for they make everything work.
Bless the victims, may their souls find piece as they should.
Bless the patrons on the plane that crashed in Pittsburgh, their sacrifice was not in vain.
O great god bless America. We are losing, but gaining, a powerful nation on its knees, uniting as one in despair and hope. For it is futile to believe we are not integrated into one, for we are all bound to one Earth forever getting smaller. God bless America. O god bless the U.S.A.

How many people went out and lit a candle at 7pm tonight? (9-14) We happened to be at the wedding rehearsal at church when someone remembered, so we grabbed the candles that were supposed to be decorations for the reception, , and took the HUGE American flag out of it's base, and we went outside. A couple of the ladies started singing God Bless America, and other songs. It was SO COOL! People came from all over the place and stood with us. People driving by were honking, and any cops that went by sounded their sirens. It was one of the coolest things I've ever done. We were only supposed to be out there for five or ten minutes, but people just kept coming, so we ended up being out there for an hour! It was so awesome to see people turn out and support our country. There were grown men crying, it was so touching.

An open letter to a terrorist:

Well, you hit the World Trade Center, but you missed America. You hit the Pentagon, but you missed America. You used helpless American bodies, to take out other American bodies, but like a poor marksman, you STILL missed America.

Why? Because of something you guys will never understand. America isn't about a building or two, not about financial centers, not about military centers, America isn't about a place, America isn't even about a bunch of bodies.

America is about an IDEA. An idea, that you can go someplace where you can earn as much as you can figure out how to, live for the most part, like you envisioned living, and pursue Happiness. (No guarantees that you'll reach it, but you can sure try!)

Go ahead and whine your terrorist whine, and chant your terrorist litany: "If you can not see my point, then feel my pain." This concept is alien to Americans. We live in a country where we don't have to see your point. But you're free to have one. We don't have to listen to your speech. But you're free to say one. Don't know where you got the strange idea that everyone has to agree with you.

There's a spirit that tends to take over people who come to this country, looking for opportunity, looking for liberty, looking for freedom. Even if they misuse it.

You guys seem to be incapable of understanding that we don't live in America, America lives in US! American Spirit is what it's called. And killing a few thousand of us, or a few million of us, won't change it. Most of the time, it's a pretty happy-go-lucky kind of Spirit. Until we're crossed in a cowardly manner, then it becomes an entirely different kind of Spirit.

Wait until you see what we do with that Spirit, this time.

Yesterday, at my parents reaffirmation ceremony, (they renewed their vows), they had all of the wedding party wear red, white and blue ribbons, and before the reception started, everyone sang America the Beautiful. It's sad that it takes something like this to make alot of people realize just how good we do have it, and what a GREAT country we do live in.

Dear All,

If Christmas is a time when we get together to celebrate the family, and Thanksgiving marks a day of gratitude for the community � New Year's a time of national cohesion ... then I hope history will remember Tuesday the eleventh of September 2001 as the day when humanity as a race came together to fight our common enemy within � our own messed up brothers and sisters who share this world with us.

I have been glued to the television these past two days, punching redial on my telephone every ten minutes or so for six hours yesterday until the international phone lines cleared up, just waiting to hear news of my little boy and his mother and his brother, all of whom I was worried about. During these past two days I have heard and seen gestures and moments of such courage and selflessness that I simply had to write to you, the only group of Americans I know (personally in many cases) if for no other reason than to remind you all that you are in sympathetic company all over the world. Your nation is not alone. The British Prime Minister has said today that this was not just an attack on the American people but on the free world. Leaders from nearly every country have unanimously stepped up to the plate to try and share your grief, offer their support and burden the responsibility of exacting some kind of revenge on the sad and lost people who did this.

I like to think that the very few people who were in the vicinity and have so far survived these attacks have set an example for all of us. Their calmness, their understanding of what needed to be done, their ability to stop running and turn to help someone less fortunate than themselves are an example of what every one of us on this planet are capable of. If America is the leader of the free world (and I believe it is) then these Americans have lead by example.

It isn't my place to tell any of you how to react � your own personal consciences will, no doubt, be your guides but I would like to add 'my two cents' to your discussions on this topic and beg you to remember that many of the people who are saddened and shocked by all this are people who will, in the days to come, seem like your enemies � people who had no part in this, who also have children and lovers and family. Many Islamic countries have condemned this action including aggressive states like Syria and Iran � even Palestine. I am not a Muslim nor indeed am I a Christian, I am just another person bumbling through life, trying to stay on my own two feet � and I am not an American, but I can hear what the rest of the world has to say about this tragedy and from what I can tell, the rest of the world is holding out a friendly, helping hand. It's possible that you may not need any other country's help � but the hand is still there.

I hope that when I see you again soon we can all say that our reactions to these atrocities have begun the process of putting an end to worldwide terrorism � not perpetuating it. I sincerely hope that none of your families have been personally marked by all this.

We do live in a blessed country don't we? Even in our time of crisis we are there for everyone it is so special.

Where was God??

I had a very dear friend question my faith in God right after
the terrorist attack on America. His question was simply put,
"Where is your God today?"

He was very hurt, as all Americans were, so I tried not to
react defensively. Since that moment I have prayed and grieved over
the disastrous events. However, I believe I have the answer.
I know where my God was the morning of September 11, 2001! He
was very busy.

First of all, he was trying to discourage anyone from taking
this flight. Those four flights together held over 1000
passengers, and there were only 266 aboard.

He was on 4 commercial flights giving terrified passengers the
ability to stay calm. Not one of the family members who was
called by a loved one on one of the high-jacked planes said
that passengers were screaming in the background. On one of the
flights He was giving strength to passengers to try to
overtake the high-jackers.

He was busy trying to create obstacles for employees at the
World Trade Center. After all, only around 20,000 were at the
towers when the first jet hit. Since the buildings hold over 50,000
workers, this was a miracle in itself. How many of the people
who were employed at the WTC told the media that they were
late for work or they had traffic delays.

He was holding up two 110 story buildings so that 2/3 of the
workers could get out. I was so amazed that the top of the
towers didn't topple when the jets impacted.
Although this is without a doubt the worst thing I have seen
in my life, I can see God's miracles in every bit of it. I can't
imagine going through such a difficult time and not believing
in God. Life would be hopeless.

Two thousand one, nine eleven
Five thousand plus arrive in heaven
As they pass through the gate,
Thousands more appear in wait

A bearded man with stovepipe hat
Steps forward saying,
"Lets sit, lets chat"

They settle down in seats of clouds
A man named Martin shouts out proud
"I have a dream!" and once he did
The Newcomer said, "Your dream still lives."

Groups of soldiers in blue and gray
Others in khaki, and green then say
"We're from Bull Run, Yorktown, the Maine"
The Newcomer said, "You died not in vain."

From a man on sticks one could hear
"The only thing we have to fear.
The Newcomer said, "We know the rest,
trust us sir, we've passed that test."

"Courage doesn't hide in caves
You can't bury freedom, in a grave,"
The Newcomers had heard this voice before
A distinct Yankees twang from Hyannisport shores

A silence fell within the mist
Somehow the Newcomer knew that this
Meant time had come for her to say
What was in the hearts of the five thousand plus that day
"Back on Earth, we wrote reports,
Watched our children play in sports
Worked our gardens, sang our songs
Went to church and clipped coupons

We smiled, we laughed, we cried, we fought
Unlike you, great we're not"

The tall man in the stovepipe hat
Stood and said, "don't talk like that!
Look at your country, look and see
You died for freedom, just like me"

Then, before them all appeared a scene
Of rubbled streets and twisted beams
Death, destruction, smoke and dust
And people working just 'cause they must

Hauling ash, lifting stones,
Knee deep in hell
But not alone

"Look! Blackman, Whiteman, Brownman, Yellowman
Side by side helping their fellow man!"
So said Martin, as he watched the scene
"Even from nightmares, can be born a dream."

Down below three firemen raised
The colors high into ashen haze
The soldiers above had seen it before
On Iwo Jima back in '44

The man on sticks studied everything closely
Then shared his perceptions on what he saw mostly
"I see pain, I see tears,
I see sorrow - but I don't see fear."

"You left behind husbands and wives
Daughters and sons and so many lives
are suffering now because of this wrong
But look very closely. You're not really gone.

All of those people, even those who've never met you
All of their lives, they'll never forget you
Don't you see what has happened?
Don't you see what you've done?
You've brought them together, together as one.

With that the man in the stovepipe hat said
"Take my hand," and from there he led
five thousand plus heroes, Newcomers to heaven
On this day, two thousand one, nine eleven

Just wanted to say, nobody sings America the Beautiful like Ray Charles. He sang it at the 2nd game of the World Series. It was AWESOME!!!
