PostSat Dec 17, 2005 2:09 pm    Spielberg and Startrek?

Okay, i have heard a rumor over Stephen Spielberg, that he is planning to make a Startrek movie. If this is true, then this would be great news for us Trekkies, since we all know that Spielberg is the best Science Fiction director.

hard to say, I have loved just about every movie that he's ever made but Star trek, sure why not? I'm willing to try anything to save Trek right now.

I said Nah, but as long as Star Trek was going to last forever, it would be worth a try *once*.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT VOYAGER!!! LOL...hehe

It'd be ok...I guess I'm kind of skeptical, but it's DEFINITELY worth a shot if iti brings us another Trek movie...

But then again, it's not like the director can just up and say he wants to do a TREK movie, b/c he'd have to go through all paramount and such...but I'm sure it's possible if he REALLY wanted to...

Nah, if he makes one, then it wouldn't be a ship we have seen in the series, lol

Says who? I find that kinda hard to believe...then again as a Trekkie, I wouldn't support a movie WITHOUT a ship from a series...You just don't do a Trek movie with a new cast and crew that hasn't gone through a series...I dunno...just me I guess. Keeping it the same as it has been..."Do a series, get a movie." Not the other way around...

Oh gees...please use PUNCTUATIONS!!! It makes reading so much easier. Alot of your posts are hard to read because you don't use punctuation and it's hard to understand what you're trying to say.

Otherwise, Spielburg is a good director...I would be interested to see what he has to offer Trek...but I'm still uncertain though.

I would have to read the script and see what he has in mind for it and then watch the final product before the movie came out. Yes, I know that I would have no say-so in the final decision as to whether or not it gets released...but I would have to see it first. LOL...It's just complicated to explain. LOL.

I agree with you Voyager2004. If he is going to make one, i also want to see everything before it is in the movie-theather.

It would be interesting if Steven Spielburg were to direct a Star Trek movie but I don't know...it would just be very different. I think in some ways, it would be good but then the ending might be a little cheesy or somthing. I mean, I really liked War of the Worlds when he did that, but the ending was kind of...yeah, cheesy. Personally I think it would be cool if either Jonathan Frakes, Robert Duncan McNeill, or Roxann Biggs-Dawson directed it as far as Star Trek actors go. I thought Jonathan Frakes did an excellent job with First Contact.

I think If Spielburg as his hart into it, it will be very good. I think he is a fan , When his "Animaniacs" Series was on, he liked to work in star trek stuff and it was done very funny. The only concens I have are . He tried to do a trek searies ""SeaQuest DSV" (Plot Summary: By the mid-21st Century, humankind has colonized the oceans and formed the UEO--the United Earth Oceans--as a military organization to police it...) or as I liked to call it TNG under the sea.I just didn't like that show. Or he will bring back Vash, and team her up with Indiana Jones great, great, great, great grandson.

I don't think I'd like to see a Trek movie directed by Spielberg. It's not that I do not like him, it's just that I don't think he would be the right director for a franchise like this. He's too... commercial, which isn't necessary bad, but it could prove to be unfitful as far as a Trek film goes.
