PostSun Dec 04, 2005 2:25 am    [RPG] Star Trek: Vision of the Future

(Special thanks to Founder, the co-Creator of this epic RPG!)

Over 30 milenia ago the galaxy was torn apart in a war spanning it in entirety.

Now, milenia later, the reprecussions of that war will affect today's galaxy in a way that had never been forseen by anyone...until now.

A startling Vision of the Future leads the crew of the USS Eagle Star on a quest in violation of Starfleet orders that will determine the future of the Federation...and the galaxy.

It's an RPG like you've never seen before! Sit back in your seats for the wildest RPG ride of your life!

Story:
It has been three years since the Shinzon incident and the episodes of Nemesis. A mere two weeks before the Shinzon incident the USS Star Eagle, Pathfinder-class, was commissioned under the command of Captain James Revan. Over the course of the following three years the crew got to know each other and become a family. There are no new crewmembers. All of them have known each other for three years or more. But now the crew, faced with a 30,000 year old mystery and startling visions of the future of the galaxy, will be faced with its greatest test yet...safeguarding the galaxy from an ancient threat of epic proportions.

Senior Officers:

The Pathfinder-class starship had its origins in the early 2360's shortly after the Galaxy-class starship began their successful run in to the Fleet as a deep-space explorer. It was felt that Starfleet needed to diverse the fleet with command ships capable of multi-mission design specifications to cover the three primary duties of the Starfleet charter - exploration, defense, and diplomacy. Admiral Victor Murdock took up the gauntlet and began the process of designing a new starship class capable of meeting these requirements. While the project development peaked and waned over the next few years - usually at the whim of Starfleet Command - it was not until 2368 that the modern Pathfinder-class design was developed. In light of the events at Wolf 369 against the Borg, the design principles of the Pathfinder-class leaned more to defensive and offensive capabilities. The design of the current battlecruiser contributed to other contemporary starship designs - Akira, Steamrunner, Saber, Sovereign - which were being designed and built at the same time.

The following year, following confirmed approvals from Starfleet Command and the Starfleet Corps of Engineers, the Pathfinder-class Development Project. Continuing until 2373 the ship was not ready for the next encounter Starfleet had with the Borg, but the first superstructure was built in the following year. By 2375 the prototype was completed, USS Pathfinder, which began her shakedown cruiser shortly thereafter. In 2376 the ship was renamed for in honor of the previous ships holding the name USS Miranda - an honor shared with the USS Enterprise line of starships - which became the flagship of Admiral Victor Murdock, the man that designed the original Pathfinder-class vessel and oversaw its development.

In 2377 a new class of ship entered service, the Pathfinder-Class was designed as the ultimate in front-line explorers. This Vessel was initially named USS Pathfinder, but recommissioned USS Miranda-B in honor of the previous vessel to bear the name, at the request of Fleet Admiral Victor Murdock.

The Pathfinder-Class merges the catamaran hull design of the Akira-Class with the maneuverability (both physically and mission-wise) of the Sovereign Class. The ship also was constructed as a response to the Klingon's Negh'Var-Class Warships, the Romulans D'Deridex-Class Warbird, and the Dominion's Battleship-Class Heavy Cruisers. The ship featured a brand new torpedo turret as it's primary weapon and the type-XIV phaser arrays, (known as Sovereign-Type) as well as two Type XV (commonly known as Defiant-Type) phased pulse emitters.

The USS Miranda is one of the few Starfleet vessels which has enough firepower for any combat role, but also carries the full capabilities of an exploratory Starship. The Miranda is designed to go for extensive periods on deep-space exploratory duties. The ships carry an extremely heavy torpedo armament of 7 torpedo launchers. Four of these are mounted in the large roll bar pod, two forward and two back; the one is located on the underside of the saucer section, two of which face directly out to port and starboard : an unique feature in a Starfleet vessel, shared only with the Akira and Wazikashi Classes.

Another special feature of the Pathfinder-Class is the hangar bay arrangements. There is one large shuttle bay in the saucer section, running the width of the ship with bay doors on both sides. These allow large numbers of launch and landing operations to be handled simultaneously. During peacetime this allows the Miranda to evacuate large numbers of small survey craft, or ferry evacuees on board at a high rate. During time of war, the ship can serve as fighter carriers; in this role they can carry up to thirty-six attack fighters, although a load of six fighters and a dozen utility craft is all Miranda currently carries. The USS Miranda-B entered service in 2377and was assigned to units on the outer Federation territories, performing patrol and presence missions as well as the normal mapping and exploration duties which any Starfleet vessel is expected to handle. The ship also features and MVAM - Multi-Vector Assault Mode, a design feature shared by the Prometheus-Class Starship. However, at this time, the components to make the Secondary and Tertiary hulls completely self-sufficient are not installed, in the rush to get the Pathfinder-Class prototype commissioned.

With the destruction of the Borg cube in 2366, Starfleet stepped up several new ship designs to combat the new threat. One of the designs to benefit was that of the Pathfinder. The Pathfinder design developed and evolved rapidly, an one point being the proposal for the Prometheus-Class. Instead, Starfleet decided to go with the smaller MVAM capable proposal, and the Pathfinder design was commissioned as a separate class. New weapons, shields, computers, and other systems continued to develop rapidly. The design was modified constantly to incorporate all the new technology. As a result the prototype emerged from the dry dock as Starfleet's most sophisticated and comprehensively armed vessel.

The vessel is equipped with a new variant of the Type XIV phaser array, formerly known as the 'Type X+' for security reasons, which equips the Federation's most powerful Starbases, deep space facilities. The Type XIV has a raw beam power output some 60% more powerful than the Type X arrays installed on the Standard Galaxy-Class. In addition the Type XIV has a shorter recharge time and can fire a longer sustained burst, giving each bank a combat effectiveness 79.4% greater than a type ten array. All told, the Pathfinder has an overall 54.6% increase in phaser capability over the Galaxy-Class.

The shield system of the Pathfinder-Class is similarly one of the most powerful of any Starfleet ship; the design was modified just prior to installation in order to increase effectiveness against both high energy tractor beams and phased polaron particles, measures clearly aimed at the Borg and Dominion respectively. Under normal operation the shield modulation frequencies are under the control of the ships computer system, which continually evaluates incoming weapons fire and automatically re-modulates the shields to give the most effective possible defense. It is thought that this system will also enable the shield system to prevent beam-through by Borg transporter technology.

The warp engines of the Miranda are of a new design which eliminates subspace distortion effects inherent to standard warp drives, a feature now becoming common on most Starfleet ships. The Pathfinder-Class is currently the fastest vessel in Starfleet, with a maximum cruise speed of Warp 9.85 and a top speed of Warp 9.94 for up to twelve hours.

The very high cruise speed is intended to allow the ship to deploy as rapidly as possible to potential trouble spots. Her Impulse drive system is the most sophisticated model in production, giving the Pathfinder-Class a maneuverability equal to that of a vessel one half its size.

After a major refitting in early 2378, the MVAM features of the USS Miranda were fully enabled, at approximately the same time as the Miranda's sister ships, Pathfinder and Stargazer, neared completion.

General Rules: (Source: Founder's Star Trek: Gaia)
1) Do not spam. Which includes multiple posts back to back. No OOC only posts. If you make an OOC comment, you must include a post IC. Even if it is a small one.
2) Please be active. I understand if you get busy or have personal problems. Just tell me you can't post for the moment. You don't even have to tell me what the reason is. If you don't post at least once a week, I'll be forced to drop you a color. (See bottom for colors)
3) Be nice to each other. If you have a problem with another poster for some reason, tell me and I'll try and handle it.
4) Try and read the posts. I can understand if you don't want to sift through an essay of a post. If you don't want to, don't guess. PM me and I will give you a detailed summary of what has happened. I would rather avoid someone posting a post that makes no sense and contradicts other posts and then me having to tell them to edit. I honestly do not mind giving summaries.
5) If you want to post a picture of a certain action taking place, for example a Federation fleet is dropping out of warp, then please no animation pictures or a HUGE picture. If you use photobucket, which we are supposed to be doing, resize it to be smaller please. Not everyone can handle the animations and huge pictures.
6) Please do not use asteriks to define action. For example *Runs to the turbolift*. Just put "(Insert character name) runs to the turbolift."
7) Please use quotation marks when someone is speaking. It is a lot easier to differentiate thought from speaking if you use quotation marks. It doesn't need to be perfect English or anything, just something easy for everyone to read. When you post, try and consider if the other posters can make sense of it.
Please use italics for telepathy and non-face-to-face communications. Including combadge use. Please no more of the =/\= stuff. Thoughts should be depicted by the underline symbol.
9) Do not use emoticons please. Not that anyone should need it...
10) Please refrain from making one liner posts such as "Aye sir." and thats it. I'm not asking for a huge paragraph, but try and write "Aye sir". (Insert character name here) goes to the station and carries out the order.
11) Please post this before posting anything else -Location, specific spot-. For example, -USS Gaia, Bridge-
12) IMPORTANT RULE: No God-modding. Do not control other characters unless the said character has given permission to do so. Do not make your character extremely powerful. Everyone, including mine, must have a weakness.

GREEN = Posts regularly / New Member.
YELLOW = Posts semi-regularly.
RED = Inactive, and may be removed.
BLUE = Excused from posting

Please Note that this crew is NOT a new crew. We are all to act like we have been together for three years, and you may talk with other RPers of characters to figure out if you worked with one of them before the commissioning of the ship.
So, in short, unlike most RPGs this crew is NOT a new crew. We are to pretend like we've been with each other for three years.

Biographical Profiles of the Crew of the USS Eagle Star:

Username: Republican_Man
Name: James Revan
Age: 55
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Position: Captain
Appearance: See Picture
Background: James was born in England into a family of Roman Catholics--one of the few thousand remaining Catholics on Earth, and one of the million spread throughout the quadrant, particularly on Catholic Colony. His parents were both devout Catholics, and he was thus brought up as a Catholic. As a child Revan had heard stories of the exploits of now-infamous Starfleet officers like Christopher Pike and James T. Kirk. It intrigued him to no end, and as a child he became obsessed with space and Starfleet. Throughout his teenage years, though, he expected his eventual retirement from Starfleet, and in anticipated decided not to wed--so that he may become a Catholic priest and eventually, he hoped, the Bishop of Rome, and perhaps the Pope himself. But all of this would be in the name of God, and in preserving his faith. However, as Revan went through his academy years, starting late at the age of 24, and rose up through the ranks as a Starfleet officer, he kept his faith to himself, practicing either in his own room, in the Holodecks, or in Church itself. He did not broadcast it amongst his colleagues, for multiple reasons. But when a crewmember died, or he would go into battle, Revan would say a prayer for that crewmember and the forgiveness of the sin of the evildoer committing that act, or an attack on others. And yet, again, he did not broadcast his faith, and would not do so. It was a personal matter.
Eventually, anyways, James Revan received the rank, through security, the rank of Commander, being first officer on board the USS Knight. The ship was destroyed during the Battle of Wolf 359, however he escaped, along with several others. During the Dominion War Revan was promoted to Captain on board the USS Abraham, which was later decommissioned. When it was decommissioned James was offered a position with the rank of Admiral. He declined, and took command of the Eagle Star thereafter, growing close to his crewmembers, forming relationships that would surely help him in the road ahead--a road that would lead him to test the bounds of his faith and to rely on his God more than ever before...

After schooling, he joined the corps of colonists going to the new world of Keron III for colonisation. Taylor learned many engineering skills on the frontier there, and even helped design a new irrigation system. He married another colonist, Megan Carter, at 29, and they have two children: Michael (13) and Anna (8 ). Taylor joined Starfleet during the Dominion War when he received word that his brother had been killed in the front lines. He felt as if he was not doing enough to help the war effort, so he brought his considerable engineering expertise to bear. Taylor's been the chief engineer on the Eagle Star for its entire run. Two years ago, during an away mission to a Romulan outpost in the Neutral Zone, Taylor was captured, tortured, and nearly killed. Captain Revan led a team back to the outpost to rescue him at great cost.
Special Skills: Innovative engineering techniques, ability to improvise with materials on hand, good at singing.

Name: Vivian Robinson
Age: 29
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Position: Chief Medical Officer
Background: A normal American girl who happened to join Starfleet. Her parents were average joes, her mother a botanist and her father a doctor. Vivian, who lived an average, boring life on Earth, decided that she wanted to make a difference and see the universe. At the age of fifteen, she enrolled into Starfleet Academy, against her parents wishes. Her parents wanted her to follow in her father's footsteps and become a doctor on Earth. Vivian had other plans. She studied medicine at the Academy. Eventually, a year and a half later, she graduated from the Academy, with honors, at the age of seventeen. After graduating, she was assigned to the USS Valiant as a Nurse. Serving aboard the Valiant for two years, Vivian had shown great promise and had been reassigned to the USS Firestarter, at the age of nineteen (she transferred before the Valiant was destroyed by the Cardassians). After serving aboard the Firestarter for three years, as a nurse, she was transferred, again, this time to Deep Space Nine, a space station that the Federation had just acquired (with joint control with the Bajorans). Vivian transerred from the Firestarter before it was destroyed in the Battle of Wolf 359. She served as a nurse on Deep Space Nine for six more years, until she was later transferred to the USS Eagle Star, to take the place of Chief Medical Officer. She was recommended by Dr. Julian Bashir. Vivian is a beautiful woman. She is an excellent doctor and a good leader. She can take control of a situation when the need arises. Vivian has a bad temper. Overall, Vivian is a nice woman with a strong sense of duty. In her twelve years of duty, she has made many advancements in the field of medicine.

Holodeck, USS Star Eagle, Subspace en-route to the Geneva Colony

Captain James Revan, one of the only two Catholic members of Starfleet and one of the few Catholics left in the galaxy overall, stood in a medium-size holographic church, standing next to several human holograms in his pew. There were quite a lot of "people" present in the church, wearing nice clothes of old-style buttoned-down shirts and nicer pants, whatever it may be.
Being Captain of the Eagle Star, however, Revan had to wear his Starfleet uniform, against his wishes, in the event that he was immediately needed on the bridge.
Revan was a devout Catholic, and although he kept it to himself, everyone knew that he had religious beliefs--and was one of few humans who did, and one of even fewer humans who practiced Catholocism--and even Christianity in general.
Every seven days, on what would be a Sunday, the Captain tried to get to a holodeck to celebrate Catholic Mass at a church, so that he may get the kind of spiritual and religious activities that he always wished for, especially considering his desire to become a Catholic Priest upon his retirement.
Whenever James had problems of both spiritual and non-spiritual natures he would come to the Church holographic program and speak with Father Edward (Ed) Buelt, a kind man--albeit a holographic program--who could help him well and give fantastic homilies.
It was Revan's getaway, really, church, to spend time with God and others "like him," even if they were holographic images of people as opposed to real people. It was almost as though he had a separate community away from the ship in this program. It was pleasant and soothing to him, having this resource at hand.

The Pastor, at this time, was speaking at the altar, leading in Mass, saying, "Peace be with you," Father said.
"And also with you," the Clergy replied.
"Lift up your hearts," the priest said, lifting his hands to both his right and left.
"We lift them up to the Lord," the Clergy responded, lifting their hands in the same way.
"Let us give Him thanks and praise."
"It is right to give him thanks and praise."
And finally, the Father finished with the words, "Let us offer each other the sign of peace."
Thereafter, Revan turned to his right and shook the hand of another man, saying "Peace be with you." He bent past that man to shake the hand of the woman behind him. Then, he turned in the other direction and shook the hand of another woman, stating, "Peace be with you." He turned behind himself and shook the hand of a young kid, about 8 years old, stating, "Peace." Then, he shook the hand of the little boy's mother.
Suddenly the Church choir began to sing a praise song, singing, "Holy, Holy, Hooooly Lord. God of power, God of might. Heaven and Earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord--" but suddenly his commbadge churped, and the Captain stated, "Computer, freeze program."

The bridge crew had detected several anamolous readings coming from the nearby Cordoba system--one never touched by Federation hands.

~USS Eagle Star, Bridge~

Commander Sheldon Souray stood on the bridge, in command while the Captain was elsewhere. He had a perplexed visage as he stared at the readings on the Ops console after being summonded to see them. They were different, odd, something that he had never seen before.

"Helm, maintain course for now. Ops, continue scans. Try and find out as much as you can about...whatever that thing is..." Souray ordered to the 2 young officers on the bridge. The regulars had not yet arrived for their shifts but were due any time now. "Captain Revan to the bridge. We've encountered some rather strange anamolous readings that seem to be coming from the Cordoba system."

"The Cordoba system?" Revan asked, rather surprised. "Hmmm...Call the senior staff to the bridge. Drop us out of warp and set course for the Cordoba system. I'll be there in a moment, Commander." He then turned his head, and sighed. "Computer, end program." In a whisper he said, as the program shut down and the room returned to normal, "God forgive me." The Captain then exited the holodeck and made his way for the bridge.

Souray had figured this would happen. The Captain was always one for adventure and living up to the Federation goal of discovering new things. He hoped that whatever this was, wasn't that dangerous.

"Helm, take us out of warp. Set a course for the Cordoba system. Ops, maintain you scans. Tell me if you find anything else that could be of use to us," Sheldon ordered. He then tapped his comm-badge, "All senior staff report to the bridge immediately."

They would be here momentarily. Souray motioned for Ops to activate the viewscreen. Nothing was in sight yet as expected but Souray preferred to be able to see nonetheless.

Rox, an average looking Tellarite rushed out of the turbolift. He had the bulkiness of a Tellerite, bu was by no means fat. This gave him an advantage though, ones that did think he ws fat. He steped to his station nad gave everything a once over.

JHmmfp, Exploring, somehting I never understood. The only good thing that comes out of it is when I get to play with the weapons

Rox liked weapons. He liked things that exploed even more.

Hmm.. some holodeck time is called for I think, maybe, an invasion of some sort, anything that I can make things blow up with.

Rox looked to the view screen while letting his eyes occasionaly wonder.

-USS Eagle Star, Bridge-

Lieutenant Commander Thy'ror Shorn walked onto the bridge. He had heard the call from Commander Souray. Just when he was going to the mess hall to drink Andorian ale. A quiet sigh escaped the alien. He nodded to the Ensign at the helm and relieved him, while sliding into the seat. Shorn looked down at the helm readings. They were dropping out of warp and moving towards the Cordoba system at high impulse. He wondered what was over there...

"Cordoba?" He whispered to no one.

Shorn was not very familiar with that are of space. He leaned against his seat and continued course, noticing a strange power signal emanating from the system.

--USS Eagle Star, Bridge--
Captain James Revan--human, decorated officer and war veteran, and Catholic--stepped out of the turbolift.
Sitting at a console, an officer turned in his direction, and upon glimpsing the Captain shouted, standing up and at attention, "Captain on the bridge!"
Revan turned to him with a friendly smile on his face. "At ease, Ensign." He turned in the direction of Commander Souray. "Report," is all he said, walking towards his seat, nodding in the direction of his first officer.

Souray turned his head then the rest of his body followed as he faced Captain Revan, who had just stepped onto the bridge. Other members of the senior staff had arrived and taken their places.

"Sir, scans indicate that there are some anamolous readings coming from the Cordoba system," Souray started, "We haven't been able to figure out the source of the readings or the level of danger. I have Ops running continual scans for any additional information but as of right now we're going in blind."

Souray trusted the Captain with his life. He had served under the man for 3 years now and was still standing. Sure, they had their fair share of close encounters with death, but most time they managed to emerge better than they had gone in. Captain Revan was a good, honourable, and trustworthy Captain.

"Anamolous readings? Ops--what are they? Energy, wormhole, warp-based? Are they coming from one of the planets, or space? Or is it," Revan said, thinking, "simply too soon to tell?" That was the more logical case, considering their position. "And what is our distance to the system, Mr. Shorn?"
Anamolous readings coming from the Cordoba system...Almost no one had ever been there. There was knowledge of an ancient civilization on Cordoba II, the jungle moon orbiting the gas giant of Cordoba. That's all that they really knew about this system. No study had been completed of the system, or Cordoba II, to get an accurate assessment of it, or to even know if there was no life there. There were remains found of an ancient civilization which had yet to be investigated, but they did know that at least Cordoba II had no life. The only habitable location in the system was Centon, however the Federation knew even less about it than it did about Cordoba.
Perhaps this would be the time to find out. He wondered what the readings were, and where they were eminating from. This should make for an interesting mission, he thought.

-USS Eagle Star, Helm/OPS-

The Andorians antennas twitched slightly as he checked their exact position. His fingers ran over the long smooth console.

"We're approximately three hours away." He reported.

He ran a long range scan of the system.

"The anomylous reading is...overwhelming the sensors," He reported to the Captain, "I'm trying to localise it..."

He tapped the console a few more times and checked the sensor logs.

"Apparently," He said, "Its....originating from a planet. Heading, mark 4-3.29. The planet is...almost radiating it. Apparently it was all over this sector but after time...the signal grew weaker. It continues to now. There is nothing like it in Federation records."

-U.S.S Eagle Star, Stellar Cartography/Science lab-

Leo was down in stellar cartography studying the strange annomoly, and bought up a picture of it on the main viewer and then spoke: "Uhh well that looks like something strange!". Leo Wyatt studyied more closley from the console and came to a conclusion and spoke: "Aparantly this anomoly from these readings disrupts warp field, and some other ship systems, i think". All the other science people seemed to agree and the all decided me to make a call to the bridge.

Leo tapped his combadge and said: Leo to the bridge "Hi Im Leo, chief science officer. The people down here in the science labs all agree that annomoly near that planet may disrupt warp field and some other ship systems, like sensors and computer system, i would reccomend getting to close to it!"

Taylor arrived on the bridge with the sort of tactful reluctance bequeathed to a chief engineer every time he steps over the threshold of that turbolift. He heard they had an "anomaly" to deal with, which was nice. Matters of late had been a bit routine, somewhat mundane compared to what they occasionally dealt with. Engineering was running smoothly, so he moved over to the engineering console and took a seat.

He saw the problem immediately. That thing ws emitting gamma rays with intense fervour. Taylor gave a half-smile at the thought of a planet emitting gamma rays. It was interesting, to say the least.

"It appears," he told the bridge, "that the anomaly's causing severe gamma radiation. I'm about to adjust the sensors to better compensate for the EM disturbance. Then I'll reinforce the shields so we can closer. . . ." Taylor said this last part without gusto, as if he knew it was coming next. And of course, he did. He knew Captain Revan: the Eagle Star would be going as close to that anomaly as they could get.

Taylor boosted the sensors' gain to help compensate for the disruption caused by the gamma rays. Then he worked on the shields.

Rox snorted.

Reenforce the shields! Why cant I do it!? Hmmfp. Things have been a Little slow lately. I just want something to blow up!

Rox realized that he was lost in his thoughts and snaped to. he also realized he probably snorted a little to loud.

Taylor paused in the shield reinforcements when he heard a snort from the tactical console. He looked up and saw Rox, the Tellarite security chief, and smiled. Rox had to be the most hot-headed Tellarite Taylor had ever met (and Taylor had met quite a few Tellarites), but he was also the best security chief with whom Taylor had ever served (and Taylor had served with quite a few security chiefs).

"The shields should now be able to withstand the radiation for half an hour. That's all I can give you--those gamma rays are unbelivably strong. We're talking ten times stronger than any quasar. Whatever is on that planet is definitely out of the ordinary." Taylor's curiosity was whetted, but he was concerned about the ship too.

"Very good, Mr. Marley," Revan replied, turning to face the Chief after sitting in his captain's chair. He gave him a slight smile. James had served on three ships during his career, and had served with five different Chief Engineers. Taylor, by far, was the best. He trusted no one more in that position.
He thought for a minute about what could be going on there. Gamma rays, warp problems--what could it be? Why were they getting these anamolous readings?
Three hours time would tell. But they had to get to the Geneva colony...
"We don't have much time for this," he muttered, facing the viewscreen. "Helm, increase speed to Warp 7.5. Let's hope those shields can hold here, Mr. Marley." He had every confidence in the man, but wasn't sure if even he could be successful here...

The Andorian turned his head to the Captain, a man whom he owed his life to.

"Sir?" He said, "May I recommend sending a shuttle to the planet instead? Bringing the entire ship poses an unneccasary risk. Not to mention the shields could be adjusted like the ship and manuverability would be...easier."

"Good thinking, Mr. Shorn," Revan replied. "Very well. I would like to accompany the away team on this mission, however." He stood, and looked around the bridge. "Mr. Shorn, Mr. Marley, and Mr. Rox--you're with me. Mr. Rox, assemble a security team to join us. I'll meet you all in the Reagan [(runabout)] in 15 minutes flat. Bring anything you need." He turned to his first officer. "Shel, I want you to remain here. Set course back for Geneva colony. Drop the supplies off and return to this location. We'll signal you when we're on our way."

Shorn nodded to the captain and motioned for an Ensign to take the helm. He rose from his seat and walked towardsa turbolift. The Andorian wasn't sure how the first officer would react to the captain going with the away team instead of himself. It wasn't usually done, but it wasn't Shorn's place. The captain and commander have had this debate for many away missions in the past...

Taylor nodded in acknowledgement and entered the turbolift with Shorn. "Anomalies . . . interesting," he sighed, mentally running through a checklist and wondering if the Reagan had any outstanding repairs or maintenance procedures.

Shorn looked over at the Chief Engineer and friend. A wide smile crossed his blue face.

"I'll make a deal with you Taylor," He said, "You keep the shuttle together, and I'll keep her flying."

"I don't know . . ." Taylor narrowed his eyes in mock suspiciousness, "that sounds like a tall order." He waited for the rest of the bridge members to join them.

The Andorian chuckled to himself as they awaited other crew to join them. He sighed and folded his arms.

"Have you noticed how everytime we check an anomaly something bad happens?" He said.
